Love the build your own guac and Margs. They will even bring a plate of veggies to dip if you’re trying to behave ;) You can not beat the HH prices!! Great quality for the price.

My husband and I tried xochitl for the first time and were very impressed. Everything we had was delicious. The guacamole was so delicious and their plantains were to die for. We had the shrimp and chicken tacos and they were very flavorful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Great service! amazing guacamole!! We chose to customize our guacamole. We added pineapple, black truffle, harbenero, pineapple, pomegranate, plum tomatoes, roasted garlic- the most amazing guacamole I have ever had! Also had the shrimp tacos that were so fresh and tasty and my friends got the mushroom tamals that they LOVED!

We tried Xochitl for the first time. We enjoyed the food especially their guacamole. I would have liked a bit more spice in my dishes. I found the mole a little sweet for my liking but overall the food was great and the staff were very attentive.

We booked the reservation without realizing it was the last night of restaurant week however we still had a great experience. The cocktail list is extensive and creative, especially if you love tequila. The made to order guacamole was delicious and I will go back for that alone. The restaurant week menu was good however I was disappointed that was the only option (we were not able to order a la carte) so I would like to go back to see what the everyday menu is like.

Went here for restaurant week. Great choices on the menu. I love the seafood enchilada and appetizers. I've not been sure about tequila, so I took advantage of the "tequila flight," a sampling of three types. It was fascinating trying them side-by-side, comparing the flavors and aromas. I've determined I don't like tequila, but it was a fun experience.

I normally LOVE this place, but when we went to restaurant week- we were very disappointed. It was very small portioned and we all paid $55 with ONE drink and our $35 3-course meal. I got a margarita which was amazing, and my boyfriend got a beer/tequila mix which was awesome as well. For appetizers, my boyfriend got barbacoa taquitos (they only give you two, and they split it in half so it looks like 4) and I got shrimp ceviche (two scoops of ceviche on literally two corn tortilla chips). I've gotten the ceviche here before for around $10 and it was SO much food! I can't believe it was literally only 2 chips during restaurant week. Then for the second course we all got steak tacos, which wasn't horrible because we all got 3 tacos. BUT, for the dessert, we got flan and tres leche cake and it was GROSS. We all decided to go out to eat afterwards.

I decided to try this spot for restaurant week and it was just poor. The only highlight of the evening was the first course, Taquitos de Barbacoa. The Chocolate Tres Leches Cake did not look or taste like a Chocolate Tres Leches Cake.

My advice: Go to El Vez or Lolita if you want Mexican food. At least those places have great drinks!

Dinner was scrumptious and so was dessert. The waiter was quite attentive and offered to assist with any questions regarding the menu. The seating is a bit tight, but manageable. I will be returning with more family and friends.

Went for restaraunt week. Low key place, no one will look for you here if u understand what i mean. Chairs could be better but i dont think its meant to sit there for hours like i did. Server was excellent, made me feel comfortable.

Food&drinks:
Margaritas are perfection. Had a basic one and a spicy one.

Food started with an excellent salad. Small portion, but the perfect portion. You actually taste the flavors. Top 3 salads ive ever had.

Then a beef rib with sour cream drizzled, surrounded with burrito ingredients like rice corn peppers. Very very good but the rice was luke warm. Still tasty but im being picky for this reviews sake. Rib falls apart perfectly though plus DIDNT need salt or pepper.

last, there were two dessert options. Choc cake or a caramel custard thing. Wanted the cake but they didnt have any. From the menus description of the cake, i can see why it was all gone. Had to settle for the custard. I like caramel but didnt like the custard. Its not nasty, just not something id normally buy if i wasnt there to try new things. Thats why i did 4 stars food.

I want to go back but its definitely a place you go with someone else so id have to find a lady first UNLESS i just hit the bar, get a drink real quick, or catch the 4th quarter of a game

I have wanted to try Xochitl since I moved to Philly nearly three years ago--and it did not disappoint! My friend and I shared the customizable guacamole (AMAZING--and we so appreciated the extra chips brought to the table!!), each got the carnitas tacos (fell apart but so flavorful), and then split the chocolate tres leche (my friend's favorite of the night). I couldn't decide what was the best dish I had because they were all so good. We went somewhat early in the evening (6pm reservation), so we didn't encounter the noise that other reviews mentioned. Would absolutely return--excited to!

This was my first time dining at Xochitl. This was recommended by a friend and they said they thought the food was great when they went. It was a cute and quiet restaurant. For a Wednesday night, the noise level was very low which was nice.

My biggest issue was in the service. There was only three of us. We each ordered a drink, the custom guacamole (where you fill it out on a card) and 3 entrees. I was very disappointed that they served me the wrong dish. I ordered the seafood enchilada and was given a vegetable enchilada. The was very disappointed because the waitress we had reiterated our entree orders after our drink orders came in.

Overall the food was good, and I didn't want to make a big deal considering that the food took a while to come out and the rest of my party was already served. I didn't realize it was that it was the wrong dish until after I bit in.

My experience here was pretty good because of the quality of the food, but the service I wasn't a fan of.

I was disappointed in our experience. Usually we get the volcano bowl for 2 with fresh sizzling chicken, cactus, and other meats and cheeses. This time it just was not great: no cactus, the chicken was not plump, the other meats were dried. I think the peppers replaced the cactus. I was disappointed. The guacamole, chips and drinks were good.

What a fun spot with great good and excellent service! We went with a group of 6 and the place was perfect for our size. The great your own gaucamole was a nice twist and all of us enjoyed our taco entrees from the spicy short rib to the shrimp!

Customizable guacamole is a nice feature of Xochitl. The queso was great too. Small cozy resturant with laid back atmosphere. Great place for sharing a few appetizers.

Exceeded expectations. Great guacamole, tacos and enchiladas. Authentic not mass market Mexican food. My margarita was delicious as well. The flan and tres
leches cake were a big hit. Server was timely and attentive without being intrusive. One of my companions announced it was the
Best Mexican food he had ever eaten☺️ I will definitely come back soon.
