The food took very long to come out, about 45 minutes. Then the appetizers and main course came out 5 minutes apart. The guacamole was average as it was very creamy and I like mine with chunks of avocado in it. The shrimp tacos were ok, deep fried and the shrimp was big but they weren't amazing in taste. Overall the food was ok, the street was quiet and some soft playing music would have been nice.
The food is so delicious and the service is great. I always love coming here!!
Loved it will definitely visit again!!
Authentic. Tasty. Drinks were excellent. Area was nice
Did was horrible. Margaritas we disgusting. Rice was half cooked and had a weird taste. I ordered Queso and they gave me melted cheese that was burnt and had a grilled cheese consistency. I would never come back her $250 wasted down the drain in horrible food and drinks. By far the worst Mexican slot I’ve even been to. Would not recommend at all. Way better Mexican restaurants to choose from.
Had an ok experience here.
Service was pretty bad , our waitress was less than energetic but we gave her the benefit of the doubt.
when asked about food we didn’t receive and thought “she might have forgot” she answered us with “ I only have so many hands”.
Tried to get her attention all night and felt like we were bothering her.
We waited for 2 orders of tacos and sides for what seemed like an hour. Food was okay.
Drinks were great can’t complain about that.
Spent over 200 at this place and to be honest it wasn’t worth it.
I made a reservation and they still put us in the basement because we were people of color...
Never disappointing. Best Guacamole and you are able to customize the ingredients.
Food was ok! Margarita was ok! All in all mediocre. The seafood enchilada seemed like it was filled with ceviche which we had as well. The guacamole was good. Short rib taco very good! Street corn disappointing tastes like canned corn. Churro was stale and bill was really pricey. Especially for tacos and enchiladas
Good choice for Mexican! Nice environment; good food and drinks.
Really genuinely good food, happy hour prices were great. Service was blah.
Waitress was so amazing! Food was delicious. Drinks were tasty.
Under difficult pandemic conditions everything was excellent. I really appreciate all staff who contributed, servers, kitchen staff, and all who contribute behind the scenes. Thank you.
Our party of 4 had a disappointing meal here. 2 of us got the brisket enchiladas, and the meat was dried out and the sauce totally bland...no flavor at all. My sister got the chicken enchiladas and wasn't impressed either. Decided to try the churros to end the night on a better note, and they came with a large dollop of whipped cream...but no, not whipped cream, but sour cream...not kidding! Straight sour cream served with churros for dessert. Btw, a very unpleasant taste pairing if you've never tried it. Our server seemed less than thrilled to be working and never asked us anything about our meal. Won't go back
More communication between waiters for outdoor dining. We weren’t followed up with in a prompt manner compared to other tables being served.
Fantastic experience. I’ll definitely be going back!
Restaurant was great! Food and service was great! Can't wait to go back for the drinks! Monica our server was awesome!!
The food was not good but the drinks were amazing
Great night. Chance made sure we had everything we needed and the food was better than ever.
Got our drinks and guac and put in our food order. Nobody checked in on us for an hour and a half and we’re informed after running around the restaurant to find someone that our order was never put in. Gave us 2 pity margaritas that were definitely made with bottom shelf tequila to try and comp us and still had to pay the bill
As a Latina, I expected better tasting food. The dishes I order did not have any flavor or seasoning. Our salmon and chicken tacos were bland. The salsas were not spicy at all. Come to find out the restaurant decided to simmer down the “heat” because guests complained it was “too much”. If you’re coming here for authentic Mexican food then it should represent Mexican culture and flavor. Not please those who can’t handle authenticity because I am positive no one would be complaining about spiciness level if they were vacationing in Cabo or Cancun. In addition, the food took forever to come out and we were rarely checked on. Drinks were overpriced for the glass it was served in and they’re weren’t even that great. I asked for a blood orange margarita and got a guava instead. Overall horrible experience. I will not be coming back here. If you want authentic Mexican food, have a Mexican cook back there instead and actually highlight their culture in their dishes.
Great food and delicious drinks! Outdoor dining was beautiful and spaced out for safety.
Excellent food, great service, and nice outdoor dining option on Society Hill.
Recently dined outdoors; after the order was placed, waited an hour before the food (enchiladas) arrived. When it did arrive, it clearly was not cooked in an oven and seemed microwaved. The corn tortillas were placed on top of the sauce (prepared separately) and was like eating straight out of the bag.
The server was nice but wasn’t able to multitask well.
Looking at other tables that night, I think they had similar issues.
I will not eat there again.
1st visit to this restaurant.. drinks were fantastic, food was very good. service was outstanding.
The ceviche appetizer was ok although nothing great. A lot of the seafood tasted like frozen prepped foods thawed. We ordered the 2 special tacos (salmon and pork). While the salmon had some interesting flavor combinations, the pork was literally just plain pulled pork. I think the most disappointing bit were the sangrias. Both lacked flavor and a lazy mix of juice and table wine.
Though charming, the cobblestone streets made the table and chairs wobbly. Service wasn’t as attentive as I would have liked.
The service was incredible. The folks working there are great but the food is subpar. Limited choices and not very tasty. I’ll only go again for drinks.
Fun spot in a great location. The food was very good & the margarita’s were creative & delicious. The atmosphere was laid back & causal and the staff was great. Would visit again.
Ambience is fantastic and the best margaritas I’ve had in a really long time. Also get the churros.
Met a friend here for dinner after we both got the vaccine, so it was the first time eating dinner out for either of us in a looong time. Food was very good as was the service. Nice place I’d overlooked before. Would definitely go again.
First time here. Service was great. Tables were spaced far apart and food was delicious. Definitely will be back. Great Blood Orange margarita
Great drinks and amazing food. We liked the ambiance and the attention. Rib tacos are a must.
Food was very good. I got the braised short rib enchiladas. Drinks were good as well. Mojito and Coquito were delicious. Guac was great. The only thing that wasn’t my fav was the rice pudding. It was too milky. Not enough rice. I would avoid it.
The food was on point and quickly served. We had no issues dining outside under the arcade with the patio heater. We started with the queso fundido of rajas, which is to die for, and overall, the whole staff was very nice. I can´t wait to go back again.
Our experience at Xochitl was perfect. Our server, Monica, was friendly and attentive. You would never even know they have to cross the street to take orders and deliver food/drink.
This was our first experience back out in the city since Covid began and their practices were very safe. The outdoor dining was well ventilated and well heated.
We will definitely return.
The food and drinks were good but a tad overpriced in my opinion. The atmosphere was great and our server was so nice and attentive.
Great authentic Mexican food in a charming environment. Service was very good. They are doing the best they can to meet the needs of their customers while also balancing the restrictions put in place for covid
Xochitl was so delicious! I’m being very COVID cautious and am very selective about where I dine right now and I was impressed with Xochitl’s outdoor space. It was beautiful, warm, with lots of space between tables under the historic shambles. The heat lamp was so toasty I took off my coat. Our waiter mentioned the staff gets tested frequently, which I appreciated. And the food itself was so good! I loved the enchiladas and the queso. I can’t want to go back.
Food was good, so were the drinks. Be careful with the outdoor seating tho. My friend was robbed while we were eating. Someone went into her purse and took her ID and credit cards. We noticed someone come it and warm up by the heater and he must have gone into her purse then. They don’t really monitor the outside area.
The waiter was amazing! The food and drinks were also amazing, would highly recommend!
