We had a great time at brunch at XIX for my mom's birthday, it is prix fixe but the app and dessert are buffet style, and main course ordered. The service, food, and atmosphere were wonderful. A plus that it is handicap accessible for grandma too. Our waitress Luba was so nice and accommodating!!

We went during Restaurant Week. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with sweeping views of the Philly skyline. That's the only positive we observed, however.

There wasn't anyone to greet is as we entered so we stood around for some time waiting to get someone's attention. Once seated, the service was extremely slow. Our drinks took 20 minutes to come out and service between courses was extremely slow.

On a night with a fixed menu of three items, I would expect service to be much faster.

Maybe its a restaurant week thing but I wouldn't go back to this place for anything except cocktails.

SItuated atop the Belleview Hotel, this is one of the prettiest rooms and loveliest views in the city! The lunch/bruch is fabulous with the appetizers and salads buffet, then a lovely entree, then the gorgeous dessert buffet. Like a mini Bar-Mitzvah! Elegant and fun at the same time.

Beautiful dining area, very elegant. Food was delicious. Service was poor. Had to track or call our server over pretty much every time we needed something. Asked for a coffee and was not even given cream or sugar. My teenage daughter has food allergies and when asking about certain foods, some she knew others were her opinion. At one point she walked over to salad bar, moved some lettuce around, and said “I don’t think it has nuts in it”. The fact that an allergy can be taken so lightly was surprising. We also asked if the chef could specially make one of the entrees without a certain ingredient and she said no without even asking the chef. She was very sweet and had a nice personality just seemed very inexperienced. Overall a great restaurant and would certainly go back in hopes of getting better service.

Food and envirnoment was fine. Service was poor. Couldn't even get drinks that were on menu, yet saw other patrons with drinks? Not what I expected of such a fine establishment. So sad and disappointing.

Came in around 10am for brunch.
Waitress was not too swift.
Asked for hot tea & lemon I got cream
No lemon.
Ordered crab benedict w/potatoes
1 egg warm, potatoes cold & other egg cool
Waitress never came back..no water..not a word how the meal is
She never came back til end of meal.
By then I had another waitress, get the manager.
A waiter, took back the potatoes & 1 egg benedict.
Brought me hot potatoes..waited for the egg.
By the time it came potatoes cold..

Tea needed lemon, got other tea, original tea cool.

My friend ordered waffles, butter would not melt...they were cool & she was disgusted.

When the manger came over...she had the same brain power as the waitress...told me "no one complained" I really didn't care.

Also, told her I do INFOR DESK @ KIMMEL CENTER where I was going after this horrible meal..up til today I sent people over from out of the city when they wanted a nice place, close by , of course I will not do that anymore.

Manager, if she was one..said I'll only be charged 50% for the meal.
The meal was left over. I should have been charged 0

I tipped the waitress, 20% why I don't know. end of the meal.
My friend felt terrible she wanted us to have a nice meal..she is leaving the city til spring

I was @ 19 for lunch about a year ago & it was an excellent elegant meal.
This I could do better @ a diner.

Not sure which was worse, service or food..about equal I suppose.

I can honestly say the past 12 months this is the absolute worse meal I had & I eat out often
Even Mickey D's food hot....here nothing was hot when it came out..the 2nd time around got hot potatoes..but 1 egg..I originally had 2.......by the time it came out..potatoes no longer hot.
Nor was the tea by the time a lemon arrived.
Our waitress was too busy standing around looking at people..& forgot the lemon..til I waved & she then found her way back to our table.
By then I needed hot tea.

My friend had to ask for HOT coffee
Nothing came automatically except the check.

I went on New Year’s Eve and the service was terrible. Waiter took forever to greet the table and do the water/bread/drinks basics. It was a prix fixe menu with one of the courses being steak. My friend got up to go to the ladies room while we were waiting and on her way back, the waiter (who hadn’t yet come to our table) asked her how she would like her steak done. Who does this?
Also, this same waiter continually reached across the table to deliver food/clear plates. Why reach across me as I’m having a conversation as opposed to walking around to the other side of the table? Finally, we’d said in our reservation that one of us was hard of hearing. After being asked to pls come round closer to her so she could hear him, he continued to address us from the other side of the table. Inconsiderate.
The food was good. The wine pairings were not good. I will not be back.

As we walked in the restaurant we could smell the fresh shrimp. As we know one should not be able to smell fresh fish or shellfish. The menu was limited. The shrimp did not taste fresh. The entre was not eatable. We sent it back to the kitchen. This was a very disappointing experience. We had brunch at XIX on Easter and it was fabulous. Naturally we were expecting the same this time. I would definitely not recommend any friends and I will tell them when they ask me how overpriced this bad culinary experience was.

We ate in the cafe room. The bouncing sound effects were really strange - having voices of diners on the opposite side of the room in my ears. Maybe offset the seating when the room isn’t full?

Beautiful ambiance. Service was excellent (escept that I had to remind each different person (hostess and 2 servers) that we were celebrating a birthday. The trout entree was outstanding; the crab cake not so much (too salty). Wines overpriced -- starting at $45 a bottle is steep. But for a special occasion, a good choice.

This experience was disappointing. The sun was too bright and was right in our eyes. Several people moved to one side of the table to avoid it, thus interfering with group conversation. Food was ok, not great. We all had the 3-course special. Duck was tough. Buffet platters are not as large as they used to be and they have to be refilled continually so they are often empty when you get there. I have been here many times with friends from out of town and we loved it. If you go at holiday time, ask for a table away from sun!

Very disappointing experience for what I had hoped would have been a very special breakfast with my family. Waited almost a half an hour for our eggs, our food was cold, they forgot my gluten-free toast and brought it when I was almost finished eating, lemon cream was left off of my daughters pancakes. I was expecting us to be eating in the main dining room, but that might’ve been my fault not to realize it was in the other room. Also wished we had had a nice table with a view, but they were not available when we got up there. That is not necessarily a strike against them, but just added to the overall experience. Had been looking forward to that breakfast for weeks as the perfect start to our day seeing the Nutcracker, but left feeling very disappointed. If you are going to charge that much money for eggs you need to make sure it is worth it. The waitress was very apologetic and nice.

We had a holiday lunch and it was ok. The food was good, but the service was extremely slow and we were one of the last seatings so the kitchen shouldn’t have been too busy. The seating for a group larger than 4 is awkward and our group of 8 couldn’t really talk to each other as a group. The acoustics were weird in the room, so we heard other people’s conversations like they were sitting next to us. Other than the food, nothing would bring me back, and there are a lot of really great places to eat in other parts of the city.

Beautifully appointed rooftop restaurant inside the Bellevue Hotel in Downtown Philadelphia.
Dined here recently fr lunch with my work group. They have a pre fixe menu called a Cafe Lunch Table. Its a three course meal which starts with a self serve salad bar, a second course where you choose from a selection of beef, pasta, duck or fish entrees and then topped off by a vast assortment of deliciously, decadent dessert dishes. I'd highly recommend the Cafe Lunch Table selection by the way...
Service was very good and our waitress was very attentive. Our maitre d was beyond excellent. She made sure that we had a superior dining experience and she even suggested that we try a special strawberry spread that was sublime to say the least. Suffice it to say that we had a very good lunch dining experience.

The food was great and the service was very good.

However, I was surprised the dining room had no holiday decorations at all and considering this was 11 days before Christmas, I was disappointed. In addition, when we sat at 5:30 we told the waiter we needed to leave by 6:45 for a show. We ordered at 5:40 and did not get our entrée until almost 6:25. I was disappointed that we had no time to enjoy the meal, get a cup of coffee or even ask about the dessert menu. We were so worried about being late for the show, we asked for our check when we finally got our meal. (Which was lukewarm at best.)

The food was very good, but eating the meal in 10 minutes was not my idea of a relaxing dinner before as show. Very quiet with only 3 tables occupied but a large party in one of the side rooms.

I was a little disappointed. The staff could have been more enthusiastic. The menu choices could have offered more dishes. There was no one at the front desk/doorway of the restaurant when we arrived. The raw clams were as tiny as nickels for $2.00 each. When we were leaving, we were waiting at the doorway for our coats and no one was there, plus other staff saw us there standing for a while and none of them offered to help. I had to go look for the coat person. When I made the reservation online I told the it was for a birthday and that I wanted a desert for the birthday person because I saw on the website that they gave a cupcake with a candle. The food was ok, portions a little small for the over priced items. I chose this place because I went to a Christmas party a few years ago and it was very nice. This time there was a downgraded difference, it was dull. I will not be going here again. I frequent various Philadelphia restaurants so I know about good service, good food and ambiance. This was dull!

My family and I enjoyed an excellent Sunday brunch at Nineteen. The food was delicious with an options to try the brunch buffet or order from a separate brunch menu. The buffet had a nice selection of items being constantly checked on and replenished. The brunch menu had a variety of great options. I would definitely recommend trying the apple dumplings. Also, the view of the city is beautiful, and the overall ambiance is comfortable while maintaining a luxorious and sophisticated feel.
