The first course buffet was picket over, smoked salmon was dried out, for some odd reason the breads were not on the buffet but in the next room on the dessert table., there was no butter available - only hard cream cheese. Waited half an hour for a martini to be served. Main course, served at table, of Atlantic Char was award winning - the only bright spot in the brunch. Banquette sofa springs were sagging and most uncomfortable to sit upon. Desserts were so, so. Service was terrible. Will not be going back.
We had a 1pm Curtain Call at the Academy of Music and an 11:30 Brunch reservation. We were seated promptly at 11:30, which is when Brunch begins. They had noted and were very aware that we had theatre at 1pm. Service was excellent as was Brunch! Excellent choice for the Theatre District!
Service was very slow. In addition, the food was nothing special. They forgot my mother's salad and wanted to give me shrimp cocktail, which I did not order. I have been here before and seem to remember the same problem. We heard other people complaining. We were there for lunch. I like the location, but it needs to step it up.
Arrived late due to storm made us feel welcomed attentive great service and food and out in time for theatre
Lovely restaurant - beautiful city views and excellent service.
The food is as should be expected...excellent.
The bar is a fun experience prior to dining as well. Very friendly bartenders.
The meal was excellent Nice view. The appetizers were different. They tasted very good the desserts were awesome. I had the fish of the day which was pan seared striped bass. It was very tasty and fresh. I will definitely go back again
The meal was delicious and presented very well. We waited in the bar to be seated and the view was nice. The only down side was the service. It took a while to have our drink and food order taken but besides that everything else was perfect.
Our family of 4, including 2 teens, had a very nice dinner at XIX prior to a Philadelphia Orchestra concert. Service was attentive and the food was very good and beautifully presented. The decor is beautiful and dramatic, and makes for a very special evening. Would recommend XIX for special occasion dining.
XIX has improved dramatically over the past few years. Eating well and being comfortable are well within reach. Our server, Dom, was attentive but did not hover. He kept us on track to make our fairly early orchestra curtain. We shared appetizers including cheese and sausage and a salad. Everything was well prepared and nicely served.
We enjoyed the 3-course prix fixe lunch. I loved my arctic char with couscous and broccolini and the buffer of small portion desserts. The place is light and airy. Tables are not close together. It's a wonderful place to enjoy a leisurely lunch.
the lunch buffet -- appetizers and desserts -- plus a small selection of entrees is a great value. No dinner needed that night.
The food was very good, but unfortunately the poor service may discourage us from returning. The waitress approached our table, explained the buffet & seat service format, and poured water without offering us any beverages. She returned later to take our main course order, and tried to leave before we could finish. We ordered decaff coffee. It took her nearly 15 minutes to deliver. Her inattentive attitude spoiled an otherwise good experience.
Best value Sunday brunch!
We had an amazing night ! The food was great , cooked and seasoned to perfection and extremely tasty . What really made the evening was our waiter Enid . He gave exceptional service . We will be back .
Everything about our experience was exceptional; From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. The food left us with such smiles on our faces, and our waiter was absolutely wonderful. I couldn't imagine being happier with our experience. Thank you for helping to make our night so unforgettable.
I enjoyed the atmosphere a great deal. The food was very good. The service was excellent.
It was a very nice place for breakfast..I'd wish we were able to sit in the pearl room . I think that's just for dinner..overall good!
Went to XIX for a post Valentines Day celebration dinner, considering Valentines Day was on a Wednesday this year. So we went on Friday night. Situated on the 19th floor of the Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia, the restaurant offered lovely views from it"s massive windows. The ornately adorned mouldings and trimwork bring you back to an era of elegant dining! Our waiter Rasheed was very attentive and on top of every detail. Food was excellent, no more to say! a must try when in Philly.
Was very impressed on my first visit there. The food, ambiance, location was great. Went before a show at the kimmell center. The only drawback, the waiter was average, but all in all, would returen
My wife and I went here 2/14/18 and it was not a great experience. The host & waiter were rude. We were rushed didn’t look at the menu for 2 minutes before the waiter was rushing us to order. Also we needed the menu to be explained to us because this was not the menu that was online. The waiter was short with his answers for the questions I asked about the menu. Nice looking place but horrible staff.
When we arrived we were sat down and soon realized every table around us had gotten bread and we did not. The portions were absolutely tiny to be paying $85 per person. Before we went we looked at the menu online and they had changed it by the time we got there so we were disappointed.
We went there for Valentine's Day a few years ago and decided to go back because we loved it so much but this time we were very disappointed and will most likely not be returning.
My husband and I decide to come here for our anniversary dinner. The place is very nice and elegant. With crystal and pearls hanging. The food was good but not the greatest.
So i had been wanting to go to XIX for awhile now, and since my girlfriend is working on Valentine’s i decided to take her there for our V-day celebration. The food was delicious, we has the seafood tasting for 2, and it was very fresh and delightful! The red wine braised short ribs were succulent, and the new york strip was great as well. Dominic, our server that night, went above and beyond when i requested if they could bring a “dessert” plate that said “ Happy Valentines ”, not only he managed to get this done without the pastry staff but he also suggested 2 glasses of champagne. Thanks Dominic!!!
Sorry...very disappointing on many levels. Service was not so good.
The stuffed trout was excellent and the beef short rib was "fall of the bone tender". The seat of my chair was over used and needed some stuffing but the hostess did change my chair after I mentioned how uncomfortable it was for me to sit at the table. My husbands favorite drink is Belvedere Vodka which they didn't have.....it was early in the evening. Overall we did enjoy our dinning experience.
Restaurant has a dining room and an "outer" room, which I suppose is used as needed. We were seated in that area. It was all that staff advised was available. A significant disappointment. The staff was very good. The food was delayed in kitchen and complimentary apps were served. Again staff was very good. Entrees were ok. Just ok. The duck was overcooked. So dinner for 4 with tip approx $400 plus approx $30 for parking. Not on the recommended list. Many other choices available in the area - more attractive space, food, prices, etc...
I see that a "private note" to restaurant is offered below. Please just send this in entirety.
Great service, atmosphere and food!
My husband and I enjoyed an early dinner before going to the Orchestra at the Kimmel. The service was impeccable, the staff was extremely welcoming, and the food outstanding. The cream of chestnut soup, raw oysters, stuffed trout, along with the recommendation of the sautéed monkfish with lentils were all superb. We enjoyed every moment after a long day at work and look forward to returning again soon.
Nice elegant quiet restaurant
Elegant room. A wide variety of salads and desserts. An excellent value on restaurant week.
Nice place for quiet lunch. Food was tasty and good quality. Restaurant is cozy and comfortable. Nice place.
We for the restaurant week menu! We order the short ribs and it was super dry! Not good
at all! the salmon ceviche was pretty good but the main entree was a disappointment!
We had an amazing dinner during restaurant week. The service was fantastic. And the food was amazing. We were 15 minutes late and called to let them know and they made sure we knew it wasn't at all a problem. The only thing nicer than the interior decor was the beautiful view of center city.
Service was a bit slow. I’m not sure If it was because of restaurant week or not
Bae day. Me and my date wanted to have an intimate date where we can have open discussion and this was perfect.
The interior and the atmosphere here was great.
Loved the service, but the food was quite salty for me
but overall, great dining.
Been here before many times with my daughter. We always go for our daddy daughter dates. But this time the service was hirrible
We had a great time at brunch at XIX for my mom's birthday, it is prix fixe but the app and dessert are buffet style, and main course ordered. The service, food, and atmosphere were wonderful. A plus that it is handicap accessible for grandma too. Our waitress Luba was so nice and accommodating!!
XIX continues to serve wonderful cuisine in a beautiful setting.
Excellent. Great service, food, and overall Vibe. Will ALWAYS come back!
