Food is amazing. Presentation is wonderful. Our table was served with waiter Ened and the manager. We were treated as a very important persons.
The Sunday Brunch was very good. The choices were diverse and appealing. The view from this beautiful room was another part of our enjoyment.
I took my son to the brunch to celebrate his 21st birthday. Parking at the hotel was $43. Even though I made a reservation, I was told there were no tables available by the window to enjoy the city view. Our server was lovely but had too many tables assigned to her, so we barely saw her. There was a hair on our table, my water glass was dirty, and there were no condiments on our table. Since service was poor, my son and I were taking sugar, salt, pepper, etc from the other tables. No one picked up our dirty dishes so my son bussed the table himself. We had to flag down someone for coffee and she didn't seem happy about it. The buffet food was good but the main course dishes we ordered from the menu were bland and unseasoned. I ordered a birthday dessert for my son which took longer than it should have to reach our table.
Great way to to celebrate my husband’s birthday and any special occasion.
My mom and I enjoyed our time dinning at XIX Nineteen. My mother kept saying “this place is nice, this place is really nice”. She enjoy her time out with her son. She wanted to take pictures everywhere in the restaurant. The food was amazing, and I was satisfied with what I picked. One thing I did not like is when the server didn’t bring us bread, and didn’t return after I paid the bill. I payed the bill with cash and was waiting to give my tip. I wanted to thank him in person but he never turned until 10mins later. He assumed he was t going to get a tip from us. I had to walk to him to provide the tip smh. Besides that small problem I would come back to this restaurant.
It pains me to write this as my wife and I have always loved this restaurant. We have been coming for years but the place has changed for the worse. It was like a ghost town when we walked in and the hostess was reading a book which she barley put down to ask us if we needed help. The scallop appetizer was so undercooked and rubbery that it was hard to eat. The salads were mushy and thrown together. The salmon entree was small and once again so undercooked that it was raw which is great for sushi but not on a cooked salmon dish. I’m guessing this place is on the downward trend which stinks because the views and ambiance are second to none.
While my entree was good, my guest had to return hers and her second entree was not that good either. The buffet was nice. Not worthy of the price.
Oh my goodness it was a great experience I love every bit of it the food was so good and the service was just excellent I I will be coming back thanks for having us we appreciate 💯💯💯👌
The food was delicious, the waitress pleasant and efficient. The setting, of course, is beautiful and elegant. I had the beef short rib, and it was not only flavorful but so tender that I barely needed a knife. My only suggestion would be that their website should indicate that the buffet table is not being used for now due to caution about the coronavirus. Overall, however, our experience there was delightful and I'm sure we'll be there again.
The staff were perfect. It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and they seated us with a great view. At one point, the maitre d' walked up and asked us about our anniversary. After we replied, he said, 'the meal is on us'. We were shocked!
The food - we had breakfast - was so good! An omelette, waffle, parfait, English muffin, coffee and juice. So good!
I would recommend this to anyone. Such a great place in the center of Philadelphia, high above the noise of the city. Very beautiful up there.
Spectacular view. Lunch option of buffet for apps and dessert along with a served main course provided a terrific variety, perfect for grazing!
The room is beautiful as is the view menu choices good but our server invited us to enjoy the buffet while we waited
Service was A+
Food was adequate not interesting! Ambiance is very nice. Our waiter extremely friendly and attentive, but overtaxed with too large an area to cover not many people but geographicly distant tables! The host/greeter was a mess. Confused by our OpenTable reservation.... completely disregarded our PRINTED request on opentable! Put damper on meal from the very begining!
Overall a nice evening. The biggest issue was the tables not being cleared once patrons left. 4 tables around us stayed untouched during our entire dining experience.
Menu needs some help. A few more choices would be nice.
Enjoyed our evening at 19 and everyone in our group seemed pleased with the food. The salmon was fine but nothing to write home about. Two people got the beef dish and enjoyed it but frankly I thought it looked a little sparse. We enjoyed the meat board appetizer shared. Dessert was also shared and it was the Apple dumpling. We all agreed that was the best part of the meal. Unfortunately our waitress never asked us if we wanted coffee although we lingered for a long time catching up with new friends from out of town. Coffee would have really been appreciated but we were busy talking. When we finally left the restaurant we showed our friends the view and after retrieving our coats we parted ways with our friend. When we went to the garage we found out that because we were there more than three hours there was no compensation off of our parking ticket in the garage. The manager of the restaurant told us that it wasn’t his fault that we spent so much time and he didn’t realize we had been there for more than three hours. After our insistence he tried to call the company but still could not give us validation for parking. He decided to comp us for appetizers in the future. This isn’t the solution that we were asking for and I don’t know that we will rush back.
a little too much salt for me but otherwise good meal, great atmosphere
Delicious food, lovely plating, superb service in a beautiful venue: delightful as always!
It was a beautiful venue but very pricy for not much food.
Over priced poorly prepared food in a space that could do with a makeover.
The fish was overly salty. We were only asked about the quality long after the food was served. There was no choice of cheese, when in the past there was. No rolls were offered, only some Precut bread slices on the buffet table that were partly dried out.
Clearly a shadow of its former self. Service was good but not very polished. Food was okay—a few highlights and plenty of problems (limp lettuce, under seasoned, several dishes too sweet being the main ones).
Everything about the Afternoon Tea was lovely. The room was beautiful, the food was delicious, and our waiter (Daniel) was friendly, attentive, and efficient. I appreciated that you were gracious about accommodating a special food request. We have had tea at many places, and XIX was one of the very best!
A fabulous brunch in one of the most beautiful restaurants in the US
I love XIX. I have been to the restaurant many times and I am never disappointed. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. The restaurant is gorgeous with amazing views. The bar is one of my favorite spots in the city. They also have brunch on the weekends which I cannot wait to try.
My husband and I ate at 19 for his birthday-we received special treatment and our waiter, Rasheed went above and beyond for us; we were even able to name the price for our bottle of wine. The food was outstanding and the restaurant itself was beautiful. The best part was the view - the sun setting in the distance made for a very memorable night. We will definitely return!
5 star menu with 2 star execution. The food was mediocre. The service was good. And the ambience/view was very good. However, not worth the price. I would not eat here again.
The service was slow, even on a quiet night. It took too long between the appetizer and entree, and there were times that we had empty glasses for a while. While we were eating our entrees, I noticed that other tables were given bread, which would have been nice to have between those courses. Or, more ideally, from the beginning. The last comment I’ll make is that the menu is somewhat limited and doesn’t seem to change a lot (I was also there a few months ago) and with no specials available. Beyond the physical space- which is gorgeous- and the view, it was not a very impressive experience. Especially since there are so many other great restaurant options in the city.
Such a beautiful room- The best of Philly . Comfortable but elegant. Did you know the all white plaster decor was completely painted in the 70's?! We like it for special occasions, for out- of- town guests, and also for casual spur of the moment brunch. Terrific service. Nice salads and charcuterie , then the entree, then a miriad of charming pick up deserts, berries and more for dessert. This time the entrees were disappointing, but we'll be back for a retake.
Was disappointed in the Valentine fix menu. Not very many choices no fish. My husbands steak was very tough and why would you pan fry a steak. Was really looking forward to eating there and was disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful and service was good. Will go back to try again
