Our entrees were very good and cooked exactly as requested. The bar music could be heard as we were eating and it was a bit loud. The service was attentive and professional. One concern was that we were seated next to a window and it was chilly.
We were there for my friend’s birthday party (as notified thru Opentable reservation - both option choice & comment) but the service did not recognize any of it. Very disappointed.
The wait staff and bartenders were attentive and personable. We received excellent service but given space and left alone to have a quiet peaceful meal.
My experience was Exceptional. It’s was my wife birthday. The food was good! Will recommend this place to anyone!
We had an amazing experience. Our bartender, Steve was such a wonderful host. Personable and caring. Able to engage in conversation with anyone. Food and drinks were prepared perfectly. Our server, Dan, went above and beyond. I highly recommend going for dinner, brunch, breakfast or even just a cocktail.
I was very disappointed with the food. The "brussel sprout" salad had no brussel sprouts. When I asked the waiter, he said they used the leaves. There were about 5 leaves (not whole sprouts). It was awful.
The macaroni cheese and crab was mediocre.
Portions were small.
It is a restautant for "foodies" who do not know better
Long wait. Long to check coat. Reasturant temp. Cold. Food good. Just seem to miss a beat
Very disappointed that the cafe lunch is no longer available on Saturday
Amazing place. Everything was incredibly fresh. We went to get massages at the hotel and then to this restaurant after for brunch and it was the perfect day. This is absolutely a place i'd go to again
We had a marvelous time at the Bellevue Hotel brunch. I was used to their cafe brunch but this is certainly much more upscale and good. The service is very attentive. It is a great place to take out of town guests for a treat. I highly recommend it.
We originally would love to have a friend who has difficulty walking join us but it was hard for her to walk up all the steps to the hotel and get up the elevator. Aside from that, it was lovely.
We have been to XIX several times over the years with our four daughters prior to the PA Ballet. The service is always impressive and the food is delicious. The experience of sitting in the main dining room feels like you are part of history. We are never disappointed when we visit XIX and our daughters always ask to return again!
This was a very pleasant dining experience. At the table, we discussed what we’d have at the 2nd visit. I’m sure this will become a regular visit from my Wife and myself. Thanks
Great service wonderful experience outstanding views
The brunch was over priced and no one in my party enjoyed their food. My waffle was hard and the chicken was greasy. They probably should have used white meat.
I visit tis gorgeous restaurant for a friends birthday on 3.2.19 for Saturday brunch. The service was stellar our waitress Luba was a gem. The buffet food was great and so were the pastries and deserts. The entrees were not that great. My chicken and waffle dish had some sort of asian infusion sauce on it in addition to the butter and syrup that tis dish traditional comes with. It wasn't a hit for anyone who ordered it. I think management should reconsider offering this dish.
The brunch is marvelous. The room is beautiful. Both appetizer and dessert are at separate stands and you order an entree. A very elegant setting that totally matched the food.
Service was extremely slow (35 min for bread) & we had other plans so we left before the appetizers
Unfortunately XIX has really gone downhill the past few years. I have been going to XIX for quite some time, even before it was XIX, and this last visit was the worst. For the past year or two I have been going back once and a while hoping it will get better. But, I do think this past Sunday will be my last time. The brunch is so poorly done, especially when you consider all the other options only blocks away. The food was ill-conceived and executed poorly. The service was worse than diners. In fact, saying that seems to be critiquing diners in a way I don't even intend to. For example, there are bagels sitting out for brunch. They clearly had been sitting out for a while because they were a bit hard. When our waiter, Daniel, brought our drinks, I kindly asked if it would be possible to have it toasted. He scolded me for asking him while he was trying to put our drinks down. Then he walked away, never answering my question. There is cheese, but only two options with no way to cut or serve it. So many small things like this--bad service, poorly executed and conceived food, even the atmosphere has lost a certain charm.
Always great every time I dine. Food is always fresh and exquisite.
Incredible atmosphere amazing to be dining in a place that has relatively stayed the same since 1904 architectures incredible and if you get a chance to go out on the Terrace please do so at night it is an incredible view of the city
I've dined at XIX many times but never for their Sunday Brunch. We were celebrating two birthdays, and thought it would be a wonderful experience. We were wrong. When we arrived, we were told - by an incredibly rude hostess - we'd have to wait until more of our party arrived. Fine, but when they did the table still wasn't ready. Hostess disappeared and we had to search for her. Finally seated, it was chaos. We called three members of our party who were on their way and told them not to bother coming. Our waitress was lovely, but the food was subpar. Buffet was picked over, with food falling onto the counter/the floor. Main entrees had evidently sat under a heat lamp for some time. (Crusty crab benedict ?!?) Overall, a very disappointing experience, especially for $45 per person. I may return to XIX for their regular breakfast or the bar, but never, ever, ever will I go for brunch again. Two birthdays (including my own) ruined. Blech.
Went for brunch to catch up with friends. Atmosphere is beautiful and brunch was great, the buffet was very nice and fresh and the entrees were generous and tasty. Dessert was lovely and drinks were great. Coffee was always hot, loved that our server Daniel took the cups to warm them up first. Great touch! Daniel was so nice and welcoming, we definitely lingered chatting the morning away! Daniel was so nice and never rushed us! It was the perfect catch up with friends that we had not seen in years!! Absolutely wonderful!
Food was luke warm service was outstanding.....
Drinks appeared to be watered down.
XIX was so pretty, however the food was lacking. I rather not pay so much for the ambiance, because that’s all I paid for. They definitely need a better chef.
Scheduled a reservation 2 weeks in advance and got seated 20 minutes after reservation time (after physically checking in at the front desk 20 minutes before my reservation). We were seated in the large party room after inquiring multiple times about the status of our reservation which was a very nice (and appreciated) accommodation. Our waiter was very nice as well, but the food was slow in coming out to our table. The food and service did not justify the price. The decor and ambience was gorgeous.
Great experience. Can’t wait to dine here again. No question.
Food was mediocre at best. Sat at 8, had to have dessert boxed to go at 1045 to get home to kids. This place used to be an experience, now it’s a gimmic.
Valentines Day. Very romantic.
We had high tea. It was lovely. We plan to go back.
Food was delicious. Took a long time to be served...but otherwise a very pleasant experience.
The waiter had too many tables. The food came out cold and not the way we asked it to he prepared. They rushed us to order. Served beer in a bottle. Then we waited 25 minutes for food to he served and 25 minutes for check at the end. They said our parking was 20 percent but turned out to be 6 percent. It was a birthday celebration, which they brought dessert with a candle that was not lite.
We will never return
Very romantic charming restaurant. Service was excellent.
Beautiful setting for a winter brunch!
Good place for conversation, not so much for food. Food arrived barely heated and way too salty. On the plus side, the waiter was excellent, and although we were there on a weekend it was nice and quiet.
It's been a while since we've dined at XIX. The room is still lovely. The sunset was beautiful.
The food was not as good as I'd remembered, but still creative if not perfectly executed. The carrot "cake" dessert was just plain odd.
The service was off. I had to remind the waiter about my husbands wine pairings. The initial drinks came out 10 minutes apart. The runner had no clue which table was which -- he kept asking diners if the plates he was carrying were theirs.
We'd allowed 1 hour and 45 minutes prior to curtain time, let the server know and we were still dashing out five minutes past our target time. This with the prix fixe dinner.
No wonder the place was half empty on a Friday night with theaters full. Hopefully this was a fluke and XIX will go back to its excellent level of service and food.
This restaurant exceeded our expectations! We came to town for the auto show and wanted a romantic dinner; this was the perfect place. The customer service was excellent, and our server, Ened, was great as well. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and the taste of the food. Ened made us feel welcome and he was very attentive. Everyone on staff worked hard to make sure we were fully accommodated. Not to mention, the decor in the dining room is amazing, and there are excellent views from the windows. Overall, this is a wonderful place to dine.
Numerous visits over the years to tis fine restaurant have not diminished our thoughts that this is definitely one of the finest restaurants in Philadelphia
It was my birthday. We waited over 45 mins to be seated and we wanted over an hour for food. Food was just ok no good value for money.
Outstanding and Always a Step Above...
preshow excellent,fine service,atmosphere outstanding
