We took 5 people there for dinner witch you confirmed at 7:30 on 3/24 and the restaurant was out of business. That's not acceptable.

We were there with a larger group and had a great time together, even though the food and service were disappointing. We all enjoyed the decor. The bar area is nicely done. It is quite loud. Drinks were ok, not the best margarita in the world. I agree with other reviewers that the guac app was small, but tasty. When the food arrived, my husband's meal was not warm. He was not impressed with the taste. The Grouper, which they say is one of their top dishes, was overly salted, so missed the mark, but was cooked well otherwise. There are many better, less expensive, Mexican restaurants in the area.

But, what was most frustrating was the service. We were all so thirsty! They weren't attentive to filling our water glasses and we had to practically flag down our server for drinks. That's not good for customers or for business. Towards the end of our meal, our server simply seemed to forget we were there. I read one review where someone complained about the 20% service charge for large groups and now I understand why someone would complain about that.

First of all we got mojitos, marhueritas & virgin margueritas. The virgin margueritas tasted tart & powdery. A couple of us being former bartenders, we were very disappointed in these signature mexican drinks being so bad. There's were 6 of us & we were charged a 20% gratuity on our bill! The service was far from deserving of 20%!! Our water glasses never got refilled unless we asked, which happened repeatedly. Our server, tho pleasant enough,

Unfortunately it took 25min to get our table, another 20min to get a server and 20 min to get a drink at the bar. Great food, service was a little lacking though.

We were at Xilantro for brunch on a miserable weather day. It was empty! Very bright and pleasant. Two courses for $9.99. Several soups, salads and main courses. Food was good, but a little bland for a Mexican restaurant.

let's start with what is really very good--grouper, sangria, made-to-order guacomole dip, corn chowder. other dishes are fine including any of the enchiladas and chicken with pork. staff are nice, but this visit's was inexperienced with the menu and with service style--that is unusual, as staff have been very experienced and knowledgeable in the past.

I've been to Xilantro many times and the food and service is always very good. However, my pet peeve is the service charge that restaurants routinely drop onto the bill for parties of 6 or more, and Xilantro added 20% to the bill's total, including alcohol and tax, which I think is excessive. My total tab was over $500, which means I had to pay about $100 just for the pleasure of walking through the door.

Quiet fall night. We've been here when it was more bustling but the slower pace was great for talking to the bartender. This may be the best grilled octopus in the area. Awesome food as usual. Not inexpensive but the quality makes it worth splurging.

Felt like we were in NYC or LA/Westwood neighborhood. The atmosphere was good. I was, however, disappointed with the amount of guac that we got with our Guac appeitizer.

While are food was pretty good, I thought the service for the time between getting our food and being put in front of us was slow. We arrived 10 minutes early on a Saturday evening at 6:05. They were gracious and seated us right away. That said, we didn't order anything complex or challenging. The Guacamole was very tasty and the Pollo Mignon was very good. It shouldn't have taken us almost 1.5 hours to get out of there at that hour.

We had a group dinner here and enjoyed the food - a chef-selected compilation of appetizers, really good guacamole and fresh chips, and excellent enchiladas. The grilled octopus was a little tough and lacking in flavor. Nice marguerite selection and decent wine (small selection).

Overall it was a great meal. I was disappointed in the quac & salsa, but the specialty items like the ceviche trio and the main dishes were excellent. Not a typical burrito and fajitas place at all. Well done.

Service was very slow (experienced same the last two times I was here for lunch) and several of the meals were dry and tasteless. When we commented to the waiter, when we could finally get his attention, he said that's the way it is. I asked for extra sour cream and guacamole to add some flavor and he said they would have to charge for the guacamole! We were there for a special celebration with family and friends so I didn't want to challenge the waiter but I thought that was ridiculous! We will not be back!

A popular neighbor gem in the heart of the main line. Service was prompt and top notch, food quickly delivered, and presented expertly. Not an old fashioned Tex-mex place, but nice Mexican themed fish and meat dishes. We will return.
