Good food. Service is slow, probably because it is still in soft opening mode.

Restaurant was closed despite making OT reservations. OT needs to update restaurant's days and hours of operation. Have never experienced this situation in my many years of OT reservations.

The food was pretty good. The atmosphere was a bit hectic and the servers seemed very frazzled.

Food was too greasy. Order from one iPad only. Got the food mixed up. Service is horrible. I’ll never go back again

For their first Mothers Day, the staff was clearly overwhelmed by the larger than normal volume of customers. Food was still mostly good but likely suffered a little from rushing, as they were quite behind and mixed up the order of appetizers and mains. Will give them another chance on a more normal night.

Underwhelming, to say the least. Several dishes were rushed assembled and not properly combined for even temps. We had a dish of hot noodles, topped with warn veggies, and cold tofu. Roti did not come with dipping sauce, and well as potstickers with no sauce options. Overall not very good value, for service or food.

Menu is very confusing to non-Chinese people. Maybe they’re not trying to attract non-Chinese people.
Food was ok.

After several excellent meals, had a real stinker. Will not return. Everything was poorly prepared.

The Angus beef bowl was excellent. The meat was tender and tasty. Reminiscent of sukiyaki. Whereas most Japanese restaurants over cook the meat until it becomes chewy and the beefy flavor is cooked out, KC did it perfectly. Condiments on the rice bowl included Japanese pickled daikon radish, pickled ginger and a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg. In Japan, it is customary to dip the sukiyaki meat into a beaten raw egg before eating. The soft boiled egg was a good substitute for beef dipping. Good interpretation of a Japanese classic cuisine.

This was my first lunch encounter. The lunch menu is offered on an iPad with pics of each item and is an abbreviated version of the dinner menu. Included in the lunch special is tofu soup and seaweed salad. The soup looked like miso soup but the cream colored broth was flavorful with small cubes of tofu. It came out tepid and would prefer hot soup. Seaweed salad was tasty, crunchy and delicately seasoned with sesame oil and toasted seeds. It was reminiscent of a Korean ban chan side dish. That fulfilled the Asian in the Asian Fusion portion of lunch. The entree was the seafood tomato noodle dish. Interesting to observe how skillfully the Chef interprets Asian Fusion. This dish revealed his culinary school training and expertise with ample portions of perfectly cooked salmon, shrimp, small scallops and mussels served on top of a delicious al dente sun dried tomato cream/butter fettuccine. Sooo good. Not very Asian but what I would expect from an upscale restaurant for much more money. Service is adequate. Ambiance is elegant Chinese decor. Noise level is low. Value and quality is exceptional. I want to try everything eventually. Overjoyed that Kumino has re-incarnated as an elite Asian Fusion restaurant from its unpretentious and humble predecessor in Mt. View. It is again becoming a favorite of mine.

Kumino China in Cupertino is the latest iteration of the favorite Mt. View Kumino which closed. We were anxiously anticipating the re-opening; now a soft opening. We dined late on Sunday. Ordering is done via iPad with photos of each dish. Servers are more like greeters and food deliverers. We ordered warm fried eggplant with Brussel sprouts, fennel and tomatoes; a carry over from Mt. View and still delish. New was the pork chop with garlic noodles. This is a variation on Vietnamese garlic noodles and in my opinion tastier. The new menu is vastly expanded and we will try them all eventually. But many MV Kumino items are thankfully continued. MV was super casual while Cupertino KC is ultra Chinese elegant. Prices are reasonable and portions large. Truly a superb Asian fusion menu from a skilled gourmet chef.

Wonderful food worth the price, service could be better (perhaps short staffed?), I would rate A in terms of ambiance and cleanliness.
