This used to be our longtime favorite restaurant for date nights or entertaining friends. The food was always fresh and consistently excellent! We took our family there last weekend and were disappointed to find that some of our favorite dishes were slightly changed (not for the better) and both of our fish dishes were overcooked. The service was slow and our food came out in a strange order (the rice and side veggies came at the very end after we had finished the mains). Finally, we used to love the unique and delicious desserts (the chocolate mousse pyramid), but the desserts are now ordinary and meh. I'm so sorry to say that we will not be returning to Xahn!
Xanh was once our go to spot for a fun night out. Unfortunately the atmosphere has completely changed. It is mostly empty for Friday dinner around 7:30pm. They came by at 8pm to announce that their kitchen was closing and started striking tables as we were finishing dinner and they put a closed sign on the front door. Service was poor . Food was not as exciting , creative, or high quality as before and the prices were higher.
Always great quality and flavor and presentation. This is our favorite high end Vietnamese restaurant. The buffet is the best. Good customer service too. It is a fancy place but feels homey. Good for couples or families.
We loved our evening. Thank you.
Luv this restaurant! They now have Happy Hour seven days a week in the bar. They have tables there, too. Their "Flights" menu is an inexpensive, innovative, and a delicious way to introduce authentic Vietnamese food and cocktails. Great service, food, drinks, and decor. On my A list.
The food is outstanding and beautifully presented. Service is very friendly and efficient. The only negative is that the main dining room is too brightly lighted.
The bartender wasn't in. It was lunchtime. That probably says more about me than the restaurant. And the place was deserted. Maybe because it was servining an all you can eat buffet. That is certainly appreciated by us Asians and Indians, the few who value quantity. The white folk were on in or at the outdoor cafe of every other restaurant on the street on this perfectly pleasant day in Mountain View. Not sure what there is to not like about having exactly how much you want - or as little-- for a fixed price of $14.95. Without waiting. And is this the only restaurant to serve Vitnamese cuisine this way? Perhaps we feel a meal should be prepared just for us, to order, and for no one else, because we are special. My favorite item was garlic noodles.
Catfish and Yellow Noodles were excellent. Other items are just ok. Cocktails excellent. Issue is the price. Even for mountain view this place is over priced based on what you get.
We were very rushed when we made a reservation for 8:30 pm on Saturday night. We would have preferred you to just let us know prior that you were done for the evening.
The Sea Bass was very dry and seemed stale. The waitress asked us if we wanted our food boxed while we were still eating. Very disappointing experience
Excellent food and service! I highly recommend Xanh for a family or romantic dinner.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Xanh. They have introduced a new additional menu called Xanh Flight. In it, you choose from a variety of small “tapas” which encompasses Vietnamese cuisine along with some of their beer and cocktail menu. A terrific fun experience at an exceptionally low price. Highly recommend a trip to this lovely restaurant. Great food, service, ambiance at a price that can’t be beat. Will return!
The Xanh is an interesting Vietnamese restaurant we tried before a show on a Saturday night. The place is huge and the wall decorated with Michelin awards from the past letting hope for an amazing experience...
the hype was a little high. The room was noisy, the drinks underwhelming but the food was good. Shaking beef, cat fish hotpot, rolls were all tasty and the portions were right sized. All of that came to a price that does reflect the state of the Silicon Valley but probably a little too much in my opinion for the dinner experience
A bit loud but excellent on everything else so easily forgiven!
The menu cant be considered as Vietnamese or Vietnamese fusion. The food quality is good but more westernized.
Xanh exceeded our expectations. We went for my husbands birthday and loved the food, attention to detail and the service. We look forward to going back and enjoying many more meals there.
I have never been disappointed with this place! In my opinion it is one of the BEST Happy Hour finds in the area...a wide variety of food and unique cocktails. The food is always fresh and perfectly prepared. I will always recommend it to anyone looking for a place to go out on dates, with friends, or just for a good meal!
Perfect date night place. Dim lights and great cocktails. The server was accommodating and courteous. Food was delicious - buddha rolls and yellow noodles. Wish dinner menu had more vegetarian options. Great place to hang out with friends.
Celebrating wife birthday!!
Brought our son for a birthday gathering of his friends. Food and staff were great
The music was loud, the place was freezing. Ordered hot tea that came out at room temperature. Ordered food that didn’t come even though my friends dinner come out on time. Was told it was still being prepped but then 12 minutes later it arrived and it was also room the temperature.: the waitstaff did nothing to rectify the situation. Severely disappointing as this place used t
Located near the Mountain View train station and with a parking garage out the back door, this is a very convenient restaurant to reach. Interesting selection of foods. Attentive waiters. I'd recommend it.
Crappy food, lousy service, jammed all diners in one room making it a very noisy experience
Great food and service but way too loud.
Very noisy corporate tech oriented place.
VERY, VERY noisy, uncomfortably so. Only the outstanding food would make me come again. The service is good and friendly.
Great food, good atmosphere
We Were 12 people dinning. The seravuce was quick and pleasant.
Food was fine. Points for novelty if not for authenticity.
Lots of techies so expect the value to not be there.
Sort of loud at busy times so soft-talkers will probably not enjoy the ambiance.
We loved the food. Flavorful, prepared with care. Pho was really good.
Great happy hour! We go before theater. Love the menu and prices.
The food was very creative and tasty. The service was great. Very relaxed meal with friends.
Great vegetarian and meat dishes, service is superb, very nice inside but the patio is also wonderful.
I have ordered the Xanh salad several times. This time was disappointing. The beef quality was not as good as it usually is and the presentation was lacking.
My wife and I went in for dinner. Weren't very hungry so just we ordered two dishes. The food is good but our food came out extremely slow. The table next to us arrived 10 minutes after we did and received 5 dishes at the same time we received one. The waitress said the chefs have different stations and the particular station our food was being prepared at was running behind. It took 20 minutes to receive a simple shrimp dish. Shrimp cooks very fast so we weren't terribly impressed with the service.
I had been there previously a few years ago and the service was good. Maybe just a bad night.
👍 I really enjoyed the meal with colleagues. good food.
Went for Friday buffet. The spread was good and they had various options for both vegeterians and non vegetarians. Most of the items were well made and tasted great. Ambience was great. Overall a good experience.
Food is OK but not great. There's a lot better options in the area.
The food was good, the ambience not good, the noise level high.
Excellent and varied choices of food.
Delicious food and clever combinations. Love the Vietnamese tacos. Everything we've had here has been flavorful and presented really well.
