waited 1 hour to be seated on the patio I had reserved a month prior, service was extremely slow
Great patio and great service. The xango burger is phenomenal
Really nice and very well appointed venue. First time there and was very impressed. Great staff and excellent service. The food was nicely prepared, beautifully presented, and was excellent. Glad I decided to try something new and book here.
We missed last call for food but the ambience and service was great! Would definitely like to come back on a busy weekend night.
The sliders are so tasty! Also amazing fries.
Good: Nice place. Beautiful ambiance. Lovely people giving good hospitality service.
Bad: Had to wait for 15 mins in line even after having a reservation. Not cool.
We waited an hour to get seated for our reservation , the food was not worth the money even a little bit but the music was amazing and the vibe was good too.
This place is great for a lively atmosphere with great spots for photos. However, cocktails were an avg of $18 and were not good at all varying from way too strong to an $18 highball that tasted just like ice melted into a jameson mixed with a lot of gingerale... We sent back two of our meals because they were not cooked and the other, not cooked to our request of medium rare.. Our appetizer took an hour to get to our table when we had already finished our meals.. Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately for them, they probably have a lot of food and drinks sent back.. We saw other tables sending items back as well.
The venue was big and nice ambiance. The service was good but the food was disappointing. Some items were a bit too salty or the flavours didn’t mesh well. My boyfriend ordered the Peruvian Burger and he barely ate half of it. The flavours did not go together at all. The appetizers were ok but nothing was memorable. Probably not a place I need to return to.
Music too loud, hostesses not friendly. Waitress Holly was great.
Good food! More club vibes than restaurant vibes. Cute patio! Service was meh- everyone’s food didn’t come out at the same time!
Peter the server made it a great experience with honest food recommendations and friendly service.
The space is beautiful but the food leaves much to be desired. We ordered the poke and the xango burger, neither of which were particularly flavourful. If you're looking for a place with a trendy setting and an array of neon signs, xango will work for you but just lover your expectations for the food.
We had made a reservation for outdoor patio dining for 10:00 PM, when we got there at around 10:30 is when we go out table and they told us we had to sit inside. We drove all the way from Hamilton and we’re extremely upset. It wasn’t fair, so we didn’t accept and talked to the manager to have us sit outside. We had to wait another 20 mins to get a table. When we sat down it took the servers 15 mins to come and even bring us water and ask us for anything. We didn’t get our food until 11:40. We all felt like it was super unorganized and busy and was a little too hectic with how the place is managed. Good was good at best as well. Good vibes and ambiance though. I would go for drinks and not the actual restaurant though.
A vibrant and somewhat retro ambiance. We went on a Friday and the place was buzzing. Our waiter was attentive which further enhanced our experience.
The food and drinks never disappoint here! Love the dip trio, the cauliflower, and the butterfly pea flower martini. Can’t wait to come back again soon.
Everything at Xango is amazing except for the BEER MENU. No IPAs at all. All cans. I was hoping for more.
I would not go here again. The food is overpriced, you get constant whiffs of garbage in the air while on their patio and there is terrible lighting.
Avoid this place!
It’s a cool place to get drinks later in the evening but the food lacked flavor and was a bit of a letdown.
I totally agree with a lot of the reviews. If you want a drink then the drinks are good and the atmosphere outside seems buzzing. However we were sat inside in an empty restaurant with no atmosphere. The food is “lacking” and under whelming for the price you pay. It was disappointing as several people recommended us to go. Our server however was amazing and friendly and did a great job. You don’t go for the server though.
Very nice ambiance and the food was great!
MANAGER SAVED THE NIGHT. Security and hostess disorganized but manager extremely professional, calm and accommodating. AMAZING OUTDOOR experience. Amazing appetizers and drinks were beautiful.
Food was all very good. Music was far too loud. At 8pm it was so loud I could barely hear my guests voice.
I was extremely disappointed with the food especially since it was very pricey. The menu does not match what comes. The fish was very fishy. The cauliflower had cheese wiz on top. The polenta under the cod was rock hard. The menu says ribs but you get tiny short ribs. Shrimp with XO sauce was just deep fried hard shrimps. As someone who dines out regularly in Toronto I would have to say this is the worst meal I’ve had this year. I will not be returning.
Not cheap. Food did not arrive together. Nice ambience. Food was good. Portions so-so size.
Great cocktails, nice atmosphere very friendly staff- we had a blast !!
Drinks and bao were amazing. The tacos were very small for the price and the Shisito peppers were bland.
The restaurant and patio are absolutely beautiful. Very cool, urban vibe. Crowd is mostly late 20's. We arrived for our reservation at 9 PM. When reading about the restaurant it claimed to be a Peruvian/Asian fusion, but the only Peruvian influence on the menu was the ceviche. The food was okay. Not great, but not bad either. The service was also ok. Our table of 4 received 2 of our entrees and after about 10 minutes we had to ask the waitress where the other 2 entrees were. When they came out they were slightly cold. At about 10 PM the volume of the music really turned up. Made it difficult to finish the dinner conversation. In my opinion they could wait until 11 PM to turn up the music. There is a nightclub in the back, but at 10 PM there was not a single soul in there, so there was really no need to turn the music up so high.
The ambiance was amazing, cozing and chill. The music makes you feel in a club, which is pretty satisfied.
Yummy food! Great for a girls night out! The cod was the best cod I've had. The pink "Butterfly" drink changes colour when you add the shot to it.
Will definitely go back!
Went with a girlfriend along time after reopening and they seated us at the most isolated romantic table in the restaurant. Didn’t get the experience we were looking for and they were not able to accommodate either.
The greeting at the door wasn’t that welcoming. The service from my server was good. Victoria was really nice and helpful. A big shoutout to the manager; Asian man in a black and white checkered jacket I believe.. he was very well dressed. He was attentive and very kind. I had not ate the chicken on my Chicken Katsu + Greens salad, simply cause I had wanted the greens (which were perfectly dressed and really fresh and yummy) more than the meat, and he was over right away upon it being cleared from my table to check food quality. Our food during the main and appetizer course did not all come out at the same time. I think that should’ve have been planned a bit better especially upon knowing that Lamb takes longer to cook than Salmon. My Japanese Chicken Dumplings barely had any chicken filing in it. Also my side option of Snow Peas + Chinese Broccoli never came with snow peas.. Nethertheless it was a good because the lamb was excellent!! and it wasn’t an absolutely crummy experience. I would go back.
It was great! Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. Food and drinks were delicious. Wish we didn’t sit right beside the door but very happy we came. Thank you!
Our server Holly was just terrible. Kept taking shots with tables beside us and never came back to check up
On our table. Drinks were empty all night, we wanted to order mains but she took so long to come back for us after we ordered appetizers that we just ended up leaving. She took literally an hour to bring us the bill. Food was good the one cocktail I had was fenomenal, But service was terrible, Avoid this place at all
The food is just OK. They do have some fun drinks. The Pork Bao and lamb lollipops were good. The chicken dumplings were disappointing. The Oaxaca old fashioned was good. The patio is nice and the service was pretty good.
Food mediocre for these price points. Dumplings were burnt and hard as a rock. plate Thats appealing to the eye
We were placed indoors in a quiet area. Food is pretty good but only if you’re up for the cost. Service was pleasant. There was no option online to book reservations outside as we were placed inside. Book in advance as they do get very busy.
Quality and variety of food is outstanding. Service was friendly, enthusiastic and at a nice pace. Dishes are a bit pricy, relatively speaking for a cool/casual eatery. I know the place is going for a vibe to appeal to the younger set, but the music doesn’t need to pound at “Rave” levels. I guess that doesn’t matter as much these days as everyone is on their phones anyways and talking over dinner is a dying custom. Still, I would strongly recommend it for the food alone.
Was skeptical at first about going to this restaurant after reading the reviews but my son and I decided to give it a try and so glad we did! The restaurant's menu is designed and best enjoyed when you share plates, and the dishes come out when they are ready, similar to a tapas style restaurant. Everything we ordered was so delicious, filled with amazing flavors! We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, chicken dumplings, salmon tataki, and the crispy chicken and the Xango fried rice. The crispy chicken and fried rice were so good we ordered a second one of each! My son tried the ribs which he said were also very good and flavorful. Our server was very attentive and the wine was delicious. All in all a great dining experience!
