Wyoming's Rib and Chop House-Gillette
Had an enjoyable evening. Service was fast.
Passing thru Gillette on way from Yellowstone to Rapid City. Restaurant recommended in travel guide for Montana and Wyoming. Good ambience. Friendly and polite service. Ribs -- house specialty -- were not smoked but broiled. A little on the tough side. Barbecue sauce vinegary. Not the usual taste for those of us from barbecue capitals like KC and St. Louis.
The waitress brought a tall beer when my wife ordered a small and we let that go but then my son’s steak was delivered undercooked and then the waitress brought out the wrong dinner to my wife and argued with her which truly perturbed me. On a positive note, the waitress did let the manager know there was a problem and the manager came to our table to listen to our concerns. He apologized and comped our dinner. The management did the right thing and I will not hold it against the restaurant for the actions of one waitress.
Great meal with friends here twice this week!! Live the atmosphere and waiters are so friendly. Def worth it .
Positives: Outstanding service. Always.
Negatives: Food is hit and miss. Burgers and fries are always good; however, the carrot and squash sides need some help - either salty or sweet - and visually not very appetizing. Also, be careful about assuming which drinks/beers are included in happy hour or ask before assuming too much or else you'll get a small surprise on your bill.
Great food and service!
Excellent food and great service. Highly recommend it. They have a 22oz margarita that was awesome! Fillet was delicious as were the ribs.
The food and service is always great!
Anniversary and visiting new grand baby. The made accommodations for the toddler and took excellent care of us. Even paid special attention to the new mother. Great staff, great food. Wonderful experience
The small fillet was cooked to perfection—a perfect medium rare—and it was hot! The ribs were not hot and somewhat tough. The squash side had the potential for tasting wonderful but it was lukewarm, at best. The server was absent most of the time so that might account for the lukewarm service, as well. Would be willing to try again based on the steak alone and hope for a more attentive server.
Wyoming rib n chop has the best steaks you can buy in Gillette Wyoming in my opinion.
We stop here each time we head south to our winter home and again on the way a back to our summer home. Always have a good meal.
Great food; excellent service!! Our server Anisa was wonderful; made sure all our food was just right, offered a sample prior to ordering, didn’t forget about us, & made our Anniversary special by offering to take a picture! The online reservation was easy to use too and add to our calendar👍
Setting and service were fine. Three meals were ordered. The cedar plank salmon was cooked properly and was very good. The lobster pot pie was also delicious and I would definitely order again. The ribeye was cooked correctly and as ordered but contained a lot of gristle and silver skin that had to be cut away which resulted in a much smaller cut of meat and took away from the overall dining experience. The ribeye also lacked flavor and not as tender as expected.
First time at a Wyoming Rib & Chop house. Our server was awesome, very knowledgeable, polite, great spirit. The atmosphere was good, clean, not crowded together, not extremely loud, was able to have normal conversational level in our conversation. I felt the price of the small rib selection with about 3/4 cup of side dish squash casserole was a bit high. But not horrible.
The food was tasty, clam chowder was good, the ribs were good , small portion for a man okay for a woman, the casserole was real good, my only complaint on the food is it was not hot but rather room temp. No I did not complain, or ask for a hotter serving. We were having a nice quiet dinner together and I did not wish to spoil that by complaining. Stuffed mushrooms were very good and served hot!
Interesting back bar!
Upon arriving the girl at the front informed me that there was no reservation under my name. I provided her with the confirmation and she told me I was not on the list and showed me her rsv list. I explained that I had the confirmation and showed her once a again. Finally, after many times of us going back and forth and the entire waiting area watching our spat she informed me that it was not a problem to seat us. Once we were seated our waitress was very kind and efficient. I have never written a negative review before but the hostess that night could use a little course in customer service. I will say that the food was great and our waitress was top-notch.
One of the best steaks I’ve had in Wyoming!
My first glass of wine was only a portion, not even a full amount. I know not a FULL glass but it was only a portion, wondered why but they never told me. The side I ordered was not too my liking and therefore I did not eat it, but didn't want anything else either. The service and temperature of the food was fine though.
The evening would have been much better had we not had to wait over 5 minutes just to get seated, there is no one at all to greet you when you walk in the door.
Also the bar side was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other talk.
Food was very good, dining experience was horrible
Our service was great, very friendly and prompt waitress. My New York Strip steak did not really resemble a New York Strip and was a little overdone for my taste, but otherwise was good.
We love coming here and do so whenever possible. We were at the Billings restaurant for lunch and the Gillette restaurant for dinner. Food was very good as always. However I noticed a heavy amount of salt use in the meat and sides. Food is just way too salty. Please do a light dusting of salt in the future.
Just went for dinner with my son. Awesome interior, old west bar. Great food and quality. Large portions. Fish was defiantly fresh, being from a fishing community I know the difference! Waitstaff was nice and timely service too .
Awesome food, great service!
Steaks are perfect, huge selection of food and crazy inexpensive specials.
sucked and i made reservations and we show up for 7 and they said i want even on there list so still waited
Usually I would give 5 stars, but I was there for my birthday and they were out of the wine I wanted.
This was a very nice restaurant in gilette, WY. Great food and great service!
We took my parents for their 56th wedding anniversary, the place is nice and clean and looks like they have a nice bar. We had reservations and were seated right away. We ordered drinks and looked at the menu. The menu looks good. We ordered 3 steaks and 2 full ribs, the ribs were good. They brought my moms steak first and it was sizzling when brought to the table (which is normally great) but in this case the grease went all over my mother and I, we had grease all over our arms and shirts. The waitress hadn't moved anything before she set it down so it was on the edge of the table, we all tried to hurry and move things so it wouldn't burn my mother and in the meantime water was spilled everywhere (never cleaned up, they just gave us napkins) All 3 steaks were supposed to be medium - well but all were bloody. They put them back in the oven too long and then they were like leather. I really wanted it to be a good dinner for my parents but it left me feeling bad that it didn't meet our expectations. The sides of potato and veggies was good. I just wouldn't go back here.
Yes, I was happy.
Good food, great value wonderful service. Was crowded, but we did not wait for a table or service.
Had an open table reservation but they did not have it at the check in.
They did seat us quickly hearing we had an Open Table reservation when I offered to show them my email
Only one bartender on the job and the restaurant was packed, took us 30 minutes to be served a cocktail.
Food was minimal, potatoes not done...very poor experience.
Good food , especially for a chain steak restaurant.
For the type of restaurant and prices I thought the food would have been great. We had increased from 5 to 7. The salmon was excellent. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold. The mushrooms were really bad. The pork chop was just okay. We were disappointed. We were with the Newmar motorhome group.
We had a great dinner for our family of three with perfectly cooked steaks made just the way we like them: expertly broiled without any extras. No sauces or toppings, just give us choice beef cut and cooked superbly. Our server was present just enough to take care of every need but not hovering or interrupting our conversation. Vegetables were prepared to preserve the crisp bite we prefer and came to the table just as the steaks arrived. The 16oz filet was divine, as was the New York strip. And even the chicken Caesar salad distinguished itself from the average restaurant rendition with freshly shaved Parmesan and chicken grilled and trimmed very well. We sat in the bar area as the main dining room had several large family groups with multiple young children that night, but our server was attentive and the atmosphere was lively without being loud. A fine evening and a great experience was had by all of us.
We had a great anniversary dinner.
Normally I really like this restaurant. However this reservation was for Easter brunch. I was very disappointed at the "brunch" selections not only in general, but especially for the holiday. A breakfast burrito, biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs and a breakfast burger. What about waffles, pancakes, etc? I had been wanting more, try their brunch for some time now, but will not go back. This wasn't brunch. I wanted waffles and ended up with a buffalo chicken salad.
The best restaurant we have found since moving to Gillette.
Per usual the food and service was above average. However, my reservation was modified and the handwritten note could not be read by the staff so the reservation mad before noon resulted in no table being held when I arrived at 7:00.
Excellent service. Our waiter was wonderful. She was top notch. Good food. Although the New York had to go back. Everything else was great.
Awsome place to eat at.have been there a few times and it's always pleasant.
