Wyoming's Rib And Chop House
Excellent service, Great food, nice atmosphere. The managers, CJ, Shawna and Sheena are outstanding and make sure you have a good dinner experience.
Very attentive staff. Our server, Monica was excellent. The food was very good. The manager was also very attentive and went out of her way to make our evening enjoyable. I highly recommend dining here.
Birthday Dinner- very good. Waitress was great, hostess accommodated a special seating request. Very nice evening.
Had to wait or reservation, Mandy was a great server. Can’t wait to come back.
I have dined at Rib and Chop Houses in Livingston and Billings Montana and now in Cheyenne Wyoming. Had ribs this time that were tender and delicious— highly recommend. Salads are good. Squash casserole left me cold. Good service. Noisy.
During a recent stay in Cheyenne, WY, my Wife and I decided to try this authentic western-looking establishment. We found the food very good, the service very good, and the overall experience enjoyable. While our steaks were a little below the temperature that we had requested, the meal was very nice and satisfying. The Carrot Sufflette was incredible and should be offered as a full-on dessert. Their wine selection was a bit sparse, but adequate for the task. We would definitely return during our next visit.
Amazing food. Celebrating a promotion and dessert was free! Really great prices giving the the delicious steak and excellent portions.
Host and Wait staff are excellent. I went to see box Skaggs on Thursday Sept 19. I decided at the last moment to go to the chop house for dinner, had not made a reservation. The hostess staff was able to get me to a table in short time. I was able to get the new York strip steak, everything was great. The following Sunday - Sept 22 I went to see Kansas. This time I made a reservation for my dinner. Everything went well. however, I was not able to order the New York Strip, as they were sold out. I ordered the filet instead. As I sat eating my dinner, at a table next to me, some one requested pulled pork. They were informed it was sold out, and not available. As a side remark the waitress said this is the end of their week, and stock is low. With 2 major concerts coming to Cheyenne as close as they did, some thought should have gone into the stocking.
Our party of 4 arrived about 10 minutes before our 6:00 p.m. reservation and were seated after a five minute wait. The restaurant was very busy with a large crowd waiting for seats. The server greeted us promptly. We ordered drinks and an appetizer which were brought to us in a timely manner. They were out of the New York Strips that 3 of our party wanted so they had to make another selection. Then our wait began, our salads weren't delivered until 6:45 p.m. We had allowed an hour and 15 minutes for dinner before our show but our timeline was closing in so we asked for our entrees to be brought to us as soon as possible. Three of our meals were great, the steaks were cooked perfectly and the chicken Marsala was delicious. My sister had ordered her steak rare and it was overcooked to almost medium. My suggestion to patrons is to add a little more time than you think you'll need and reiterate your steak cooking preference.
Our first time visit to the Rib & Chop House was excellent !!! Very nice ambiance, my wife's filet mignon and my 16 ounce ribeye were perfectly cooked. Our hostess Jette was very attentive to our needs and she deserves a raise :) She provided a delicious birthday desert of crème brulee for my wife at no charge. We will definitely be returning to the Rib & Chop House in the near future.
Service was a little slow. I ordered the filet which was perfectly cooked and delicious. My son and daughter both ordered the chicken fried steak and were not impressed. The satin pie was good but very rich.
This was a special occassion for us and the service was very poor. We may have gotten the rookie server becuase it was only the two of us. It took a long time for my wife's alcoholis drink to be made and delivered and after we ordered we heard another server telling an adjacent table about the specials and available soups etc. We did not get that information and would have ordered differently if we had. I asked for them to leave the croutons off of my salad and it came with croutons. I wasn't offered a refill on my soft drink so I ended up drinking my wife's water. Food was good but not a lot of it. The restaurant was obnoxiously loud and overall a dissappointment. At the conclusion of our meal the server asked if we wanted dessert. We ordered cheesecake, and asked for the fruit to be on the side due to my strawberrie allergy. Of course it came on the same plate, so I wasn't able to share. When the check was brought the server placed it next to my wife, rather than asking, or giving it to me. My wife even commented that made her angry. Overall not a good experience this time. We know they can do better.
We ate at the Laramie location. There was a mixup with reservations on open table but they fixed. The food was good. We both are on WW and were able to enjoy a great meal. The salmon plank was great! Very convenient if staying at the Hilton Garden Inn
We enjoyed our server, Alex.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Our server, Reagan, was fun and personal and very helpful. The crab-crusted chicken dinner in particular was extraordinary, like something you'd see (and long for) on Iron Chef. Every aspect of it was terrific. We wish there was one in our home town!
Food is good, service is good but it gets pretty noisy if you are trying to talk.
I have eaten here several times and last couple of times not as good as prior times. The food was good but the service was challenging since the main course was brought out almost at the same time as the the salads. The waiter was nice and rest of service was okay.
The main dishes (cedar planked salmon & short ribs) were really great. The apple cobbler or whatever it was supposed to be was just awful, it was only a stick of butter with sugar. The apple pieces were so mashed that it was really hard to find any pieces at ll and dripped the butter... It was more a pudding than a cobbler. Since a mishap happened in the kitchen, we got some free bread rolls but they were a little bit too late. Our waiter couldn’t tell us from which region the couple of wines listed were. For such a restaurant, I expected more. Nevertheless, if I forget the dessert and the waiting time, we had a great meal.
Noisy group next to us otherwise fun good ecperience
Awesome food!! Really good value. We’ll be back for sure.
My new favorite place to eat out. Everything was out standing.
We were seated quickly but it took a while for the server to come by, and take a drink order. He was a nice guy but rather disorganized.
We were seated right away, which was nice as my husband is in a wheelchair. The food everyone at our table said was good, except it was salty. The quality of food was good otherwise., Our waiter Alex was awesome! Drinks were kept full, and we were asked multiple times how things were going.
Very busy place on a Friday night. Great service from AJ. Bar made my Manhattan with scotch instead of bourbon. Simon and real were very good
Dependable is a good one-word description. The food is dependably professionally executed and generally good, the service is dependably pleasant and adequate, the beverage service is dependably slow and apologetic, the cost is dependably reasonable .
In a half-dozen or so times I have yet to have a clinker except for the beverage service in the dining room. The dining room staff appears to be adequate, and sometimes even plentiful, and organized on a "team-waiting" concept, so perhaps a bit more training on moving the beverages, or even a dining-room person dedicated to beverages would help.
Basically everything would seem to be dependably good, nothing is particularly superb. The Chop House is a good place to eat in a town with very few of them.
Great place. I’ll be back next tine I’m in town. Had an amazing buffalo ribeye.
We do love the food at WY. Rib and Chop House, but the ambience leaves a little to be desired...stuck in the back room by ourselves for a little while then joined by a foursome next to us where one man kept having people guess his age...(My guess was 85!...but he did not ask me!) Waitress was great but felt a little rushed by her constant visits...but a very nice lady.... the food is great! Great steaks! But remember they don't tell you they add for the "Add-ons!" Anyway if you go for the first time demand to sit in the Bar at the tables , as that is where they put the "regulars I think!
I came from Colorado to go to Rib and Chop house. Don't get me wrong, the steak was
amazing, my wife thought her ribs were a little burnt and dry. Hardest thing was fighting
off the three flies surrounding out table. Advice, Fly stripes when you are closed. And one
more thing, when your waitress asks if you want mushrooms and onions she should also let
you know they are extra. It affected her tip, just saying.
We arrived on time for our open table and still had to wait about 20 minutes for a seat. The food was okay, but quite overpriced for the quality and size of the portions. I really liked the ribs, but the presentation was poor, the parsley on the plate was wilted and unappetizing. The plate was not cleaned up for the presentation. The gumbo did not taste homemade, but like something out of a can. Overall, I was not impressed.
Food was delicious and our server was very friendly and right on...my salmon cooked perfectly...
Great food !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I genuinely understand the rave reviews based on the fact that Cheyenne doesn’t have the best dining scene (or A dining scene for that matter). This place is average at best with a decent steak house price point. We have been here twice being that we’ve been waiting for house to be completed in Colorado and have been living in Cheyenne for over a month. Food is okay. Less than average and service definitely matches. The bathroom tonight was a state as clearly someone had too much fried food and expelled their insides in and around the toilet bowl. This just added to the ambiance. I mean, they’re busy and seem to have a local following but clearly these locals have never had a good steak or anything that isn’t deep fried and coated in sauce to try the mask their lack of ability to cook.
Our ribs and steak were perfect. The drinks were delish and perfect. Our server was absolutely wonderful. Rave reviews all around. We sat in bar area, more relaxed and more the atmosphere we prefer.
Overall good experience but it was very loud. Our server was great! She was prompt and attentive. My husband ordered the buffalo rib eye and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the special, which was halibut. I was very disappointed as it was very dry with little flavor. It was served on a bed of spinach with a light wine sauce.. that was watery with no taste. Would not suggest the huckleberry creme brûlée. Our bill was $125... with two drinks each. Don’t mind the price if it’s an excellent meal but the best part was the carrot soufflé!
Thank you for helping me provide a great birthday for my Grandmother! Katlyn was amazing!
Happy hour was great. And diner ver good price / quality.
We really enjoyed the food. Our visit was at the end of Cheyenne Frontier Days, so staff trying to stay fresh after a terribly busy week. We waited a bit for cocktails, but all else great. There were 6 of us. Salmon “...the best I ever had..,” for 2 of us. Steaks excellent and so tender!
highly recommend.. Great food and service.. Price is good too for the quality of the meal.
Although Cheyenne Frontier Days creates a dining frenzy at the Chop House, the service provided by the staff is exceptional. Fried prawns, filet, and rib eye ordered, all excellent. Will be visiting the restaurant again next year!
We came twice during CFD. This particular nite we were served by a very nervous girl with thick eyeliner. My guess is she was new, and had little clue of her job. She didn’t even know the menu. The cedar plank salmon was very good, and my friends steak was good, but they ran out of bread. She forgot my side. Never even took it off the bill. Her tip reflected the lack of service.
We later came Sunday nite, and sat at the bar to eat. A lovely Brazilian man waited on us. However the kitchen staff brought us the entree before the salads. Y friend wasn’t happy, and asked to seamlessly her steak, after the salads were finished. It didn’t matter to me, but she insisted on a new steak. Her med rare steak came back out, same one, and was med well. Female manager took it off the bill. We tipped the waiter the cost of the steak. He was really nice and I don’t think it was his doing.
Bottom line is, this place used to be so very good!!! The food seems to have slipped, and the service definitely has. Saw your GM eating in the back of the bar, but after working at CFD 14 days, we were tired.
So this is my take on 2 visits. I will try y’all again next year, hoping it’s as good as it once was.
