Wrigley Mansion - Geordie's Ratings and Reviews
Geordie’s has a spectacular location — one of the best in Phoenix— and the restored Mansion is lovely. The tables are spread out, which provides a lot of privacy. And the service is very attentive.a perfect setting for a Valentine dinner.
However, we were surprised that the filet mignon my wife ordered — one of their signature dishes — was over cooked. She ordered medium rare, but the meat was not pink at all. This is very disappointing in a steakhouse of this caliber. While it would have been possible to cook another filet , I would have finished by the time it arrived, and she felt this would have spoiled the dinner.
While the food was quite good, the service was terrible! My friend and I were there for lunch, we had a hamburger and an order of mac and cheese and we were stuck in the dining room for 1 hour and a half. Our waitress disappeared a number of times, luckily other staff stepped in to help with our requests. At the end we were left alone in the dining room, the only table left and NOONE was in sight. We finally went out to the bar and the bartender found our tab and we were able to pay our bill. We never saw our waitress again. The bartender was very nice and offered us a free beverage but all we wanted was to get out of there. In case you were wondering we always tip very well but this waitress deserved nothing!
The mansion is beautiful, the view fantastic and the food and service was outstanding. Geordie's feels like a return to a different era-- not the vibrant scene for millennial, but beautiful, tables well spaced, lovely music and very friendly service from both servers and managers.
An especially great choice for a special occasion.
What a wonderful treasure and an architectural delight, right down to the telephone operator’s room. Vacationing New Jersey friends decided to have cocktails at the Baltimore and I made the executive decision on the evening’s restaurant choice. Everyone was more than satisfied with appetizers and delicious fresh beet salad. The duck was outstanding, tender, crisp with an unusual bean base. The gentlemen in our foursome enjoyed salmon and a heavenly steak.the suggested vegetable tart side was an added bonus. The wine selection was outstanding and reasonably priced.
During dessert, the manager stopped by and explained the membership concept but in no way did he apply pressure to join the Mansion.
My husband and I will absolutely return to the Wrigley Mansion, Geordies restaurant, next year during our Scottsdale vacation. Our only regret, that we did not arrive early enough to enjoy the sunset.
Best wishes for your continued success. Diana Collins
There were 8 of us in our party for the Juicy Fruit tour and lunch. I ordered the salad and received about a cup of lettuce with a few carrot curls - those who ordered a sandwich received OK portions. The vegetable bowl was skimpy. One of us ordered the Spam/Pork sandwich without cheese - it came with cheese so was sent back - we were almost done eating before a new sandwich came and then it had only spam and no pork. The tour was fantastic and the service was good but the food was 50/50.
Was really nice and good food. However, we went for the bottomless mimosas and only had 3 before our waiter stopped topping them off. We were celebrating a birthday and so we kind of brushed it off, it defiantly made the brunch a little less desirable. Overall we had a fun time exploring the mansion and taking in the views.
Obviously you go to wrigley for the real estate and the history. The food is good but not wonderful and the service is so so. But it’s a really neat spot with great views, and wandering around the mansion before or after your meal is a pretty cool experience.
It was my wife's birthday and we were the guests of our friends that belong to the club with a $200 gift certificate. Everyone was accommodating to show us a good time. We went at happy hour, had 5 appetizers and four drinks and the bill was $147 for the 2 of us. The view was lovely, the staff friendly and receptive and the Mansion open and available to sit and view out almost anywhere. We were comfortable.
6pm reservation, restaurant dining room 3/4 full, large party down the hall. Server announces new menu and states ribs not available because of the party down the hall (poor planning). 7:40 server comes by states “steak is being plated” entrees finally arrive, (ribeye and barramundi) at 7:45. Barramundi cold. Server assistant comes by 8 minutes later, I sent the fish back. Another 10 minutes, manager brings fish back. Plate was heated but fish still cold. Server comes by and asks if the manager came by, and again I point out fish is cold. She didn’t remove the plate because it was to hot, server assistant comes by, apologizes and takes the plate. Manager and server come back offer a round of drinks - great idea since after two hours in restaurant I still haven’t eaten anything! Manager Kevin states “he is sorry I still wasn’t happy with my meal” I explain I only eat cold fish if it is sushi, not the special market fish. He stated kitchen experiencing “growing pains.”
Since the restaurant has been around for a very long time, and past experiences have been good, it’s obvious more has changed than the new menu, which is limited. Ribeye was good, not great, not at all like the steak Florentine on old menu. Long standing popovers gone, and side dish, Acorn squash and pomegranate had 2 pomegranate seeds in the entire dish!
Service was excellent in both the bar area and dining room.
Limited menu in dining room although food was very good. Bar menu much better.
Great views of city both day and night. Viewing Sunset is great also. Love the history of the place both of the Wrigley family and Geordie Hormel.
This is the second time I've been to WM and they absolutely rest on their laurels. They have the most gorgeous views in the valley but their food is food is highly over priced and over rated. I recommend this place as a spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset before going to your real dinner.
A lover and I reserved a table for December 31, 2017. You charged $80/ person and automatically included the tip with the meal.
Yes the view is nice and the setting was nice, but to charge that much for a meal and not including a tour of the mansion was way overpriced and overrated! First, of all, the meal was NOT worth it. I wanted some avocado and you were out of fresh so you had the audacity to try and serve me a bad avocado.
Second, you were serving a dish that I wanted, but by the time that I got to it, you were serving something else. That’s something that you do at a puplic supper in Maine, not at a high class restaurant charging high class prices!
Third, the food was definitely NOT worth it! I could have gotten a better meal in Maine at a high class restaurant for less than half of the price of this restaurant for TWO people! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Wrigley Mansion is overrated!
Fourth, and last. You had the gall to ask for an additional tip! Seriously! Are you kidding! For the second class service! LOL! What drugs are you on? You automatically charge for a tip and ask for an additional tip for the mediocre service. I should post this on Facebook.
Overpriced and not a very big selection for Christmas Eve brunch. Disappointed, I’d recommend going to the Phoenician for a special occasion instead of this restaurant. Food was often cold, not overly flavorful and not much selection. Long lines for carving station and omelette’s too.
