I have been to Geordies before Chef Christopher took over the kitchen and I have to say the food is much better than it used to be. However, there were many other issues that trumped the quality of the food. I requested a table by a window for a special occasion and was disappointed that we were sat at a small table in a corner with no view. I was even more disappointed with our waiter who’s only goal was to turn our table as quickly as possible. Either he was improperly trained or just didn’t care, regardless I’ve had better service at Denny’s. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but I also don’t usually spend $500 on dinner and leave feeling dissatisfied.
I'm sorry. We were very disappointed, having followed Christopher from the Biltmore Shopping plaza. Elderly, infirm need to be aware there is no elevator, for starters. The view IS breathtaking. My vegetarian appetizer and main course were absolutely delicious; my husband thought he was ordering pan seared fois gras, not the terrine so he was unhappy (but admits it was his fault.) Our friend ordered the duck and was very disappointed as it was dry and not very tasty. Wait staff reached across table to serve, one had untucked shirt, another cracking his knuckles continuously. We didn't spot one of Christopher's wait staff who used to be outstanding. Prices also seem to have gone up about a third from previous Christopher's. Sigh. We won't be going back first and foremost because of the lack of ease/access, but wish them luck.
Enticing varieties of starters and entrees. The rack of lamb, market fish (sea bass) and scallops were perfectly prepared. But it’s the view you’ve gotta see! Perfect place to enjoy a sundowner on the terrace as day turns to night and Phoenixes x sparkles in the distance!
We are faithful followers of Christopher and were not disappointed with his new venture at the Wrigley Mansion. Waiting staff was courteous, knowledgeable and did not interrupt conversation at the table, the food was a visual and delectable affair and you can't beat the view. Overall very delightful.
Steve was GREAT and the food and views amazing!
The service was great, however food was not at the quality I expected.
View, great. Food good. Service fair. Seemed like there were new runners. At that price point with white table clothes, the servers should know who ordered what instead instead of shifting plates around at every course delivery. Fabulous bread, but, once piece is put on your bread plate. We had to continuously ask for more, none was ever offered after the first baguette slice. Even after asking, delivery was slow. I also feel that at this caliber of restaurant, every server should no the type of oil that is used in dressing and food preparation. All of the servers at Hillstone or Houston’s know what is in each dish, a great model to follow.
A very enjoyable evening. Good food and good service with ambiance.
Sunday brunch wasn't worth the price. Prime rib....RAW. Only a few choices worth while but for the price....no.
For Sunday Brunch:
The service was excellent, the views outstanding, the table was a large round table for 8 we were 4, so not intimate. The food was great in terms of choices, but I didn’t think it was kept warm well. I was expecting more of a 5 star occasion, but the tables etc felt more like 3 stars. I would go again, because of the views and history of the mansion, but I would set proper expectations with my guest.
Bottomless mimosas, endless food and sweeping views. What a way to start a Sunday.
This is well worth it for a special brunch and a beautiful view. The variety is great, the food is very good and the service is outstanding. We went for brunch and were very happy. It should be noted that a 20% gratuity is added to your bill. Not that it is not deserved, it is. Just be careful not to tip twice unless you really want to.
Excellent brunch although quite expensive. The service was impeccable. It was quite cold inside when we arrived at 10 am -- 64 degrees set temperature. Drinking ice water and champagne did not help. So we ordered hot coffee. It warmed up by 11:30 am when the dining room was full. The shrimp and crab legs were very fresh and flavorful. Recommend they do not try to score the legs lengthwise, as this does make them harder to pull the meat out intact, especially the broader parts of the legs. The prime rib was excellent. We found the covers to the pots for the hot dishes quite heavy and hard to lift -- especially difficult for seniors and those with shoulder, elbow, wrist or hand problems such as arthritis, or recent injury. We thought the smoked salmon was very good, particularly the beef-smoked salmon. I did not enjoy the scrambled eggs much. They were fluffy but some condensation seemed to have formed in the covered pot, making some of it watery. And there was a creamy taste to them which I did not care for. Perhaps they used milk in the preparation? The cheeses were not very interesting -- lack of variety. For wine, we liked the cabernet better than the champagne or the pinot noir. The strawberries were not very juicy -- reminded my wife of a genetically modified variety, but I found them acceptable. The cakes were over the top. We loved the chocolate decadence. But we did not find the key lime cheesecake tart enough. Overall, this was an outstanding meal. Just sorry we could not eat more!
Meal and ambience were great for a girlfriends’ birthday celebration. Did not appreciate the addition of $10 for two one-month memberships that will not be used and was not evident on the website. Seems overreaching and puts stress on the server.
My dates food came under cooked(it was fish) then they had to take our plates away and when mine came back which was the ribeye cap. It has even less meat.
Lovely evening, delicious dinner and very attentive service. Overall a swell experience and the sense of history sparks one's imagination...
The restaurant is charming but the food was not excellent
Food was terrible! It tasted like week--old leftovers. Plus it was way too spendy considering the quality ($115 without drinks.) Went there for a birthday and left feeling disappointed.
Such amazing brunch
Geordie’s has a spectacular location — one of the best in Phoenix— and the restored Mansion is lovely. The tables are spread out, which provides a lot of privacy. And the service is very attentive.a perfect setting for a Valentine dinner.
However, we were surprised that the filet mignon my wife ordered — one of their signature dishes — was over cooked. She ordered medium rare, but the meat was not pink at all. This is very disappointing in a steakhouse of this caliber. While it would have been possible to cook another filet , I would have finished by the time it arrived, and she felt this would have spoiled the dinner.
The food was excellent, the service absolutely pristine , and the view of the city was wonderful. We planned our dinner around a time when the sun was just going down and it was magnificent Arizona sunset.
While the food was quite good, the service was terrible! My friend and I were there for lunch, we had a hamburger and an order of mac and cheese and we were stuck in the dining room for 1 hour and a half. Our waitress disappeared a number of times, luckily other staff stepped in to help with our requests. At the end we were left alone in the dining room, the only table left and NOONE was in sight. We finally went out to the bar and the bartender found our tab and we were able to pay our bill. We never saw our waitress again. The bartender was very nice and offered us a free beverage but all we wanted was to get out of there. In case you were wondering we always tip very well but this waitress deserved nothing!
Gorgeous setting for sumptuous, varied menu. Christopher has combined favorites from his Biltmore locale with popular Wrigley items. Each dining area offers a lovely setting.
We had a wonderful dinner date in a beautiful setting with awesome service. Love this place 😉
The mansion is beautiful, the view fantastic and the food and service was outstanding. Geordie's feels like a return to a different era-- not the vibrant scene for millennial, but beautiful, tables well spaced, lovely music and very friendly service from both servers and managers.
An especially great choice for a special occasion.
This was our first time visiting Geordie's and it was fantastic! The food was great and so were the views. We will definitely return.
What a wonderful treasure and an architectural delight, right down to the telephone operator’s room. Vacationing New Jersey friends decided to have cocktails at the Baltimore and I made the executive decision on the evening’s restaurant choice. Everyone was more than satisfied with appetizers and delicious fresh beet salad. The duck was outstanding, tender, crisp with an unusual bean base. The gentlemen in our foursome enjoyed salmon and a heavenly steak.the suggested vegetable tart side was an added bonus. The wine selection was outstanding and reasonably priced.
During dessert, the manager stopped by and explained the membership concept but in no way did he apply pressure to join the Mansion.
My husband and I will absolutely return to the Wrigley Mansion, Geordies restaurant, next year during our Scottsdale vacation. Our only regret, that we did not arrive early enough to enjoy the sunset.
Best wishes for your continued success. Diana Collins
The menu was very limited. We ordered 2 unique vegetable dishes and Filet. I said “this is all our options” when I first saw the menu.
Wonderful staff and a beautiful historic venue. Don’t miss it!
The night was magical and spectacular. It was like being in a modern day fairytale!
There were 8 of us in our party for the Juicy Fruit tour and lunch. I ordered the salad and received about a cup of lettuce with a few carrot curls - those who ordered a sandwich received OK portions. The vegetable bowl was skimpy. One of us ordered the Spam/Pork sandwich without cheese - it came with cheese so was sent back - we were almost done eating before a new sandwich came and then it had only spam and no pork. The tour was fantastic and the service was good but the food was 50/50.
Was really nice and good food. However, we went for the bottomless mimosas and only had 3 before our waiter stopped topping them off. We were celebrating a birthday and so we kind of brushed it off, it defiantly made the brunch a little less desirable. Overall we had a fun time exploring the mansion and taking in the views.
My parents loved it when we took them. It's perfection. We sat outside. Great place for views and conversations
Obviously you go to wrigley for the real estate and the history. The food is good but not wonderful and the service is so so. But it’s a really neat spot with great views, and wandering around the mansion before or after your meal is a pretty cool experience.
Consistently a quality lunch with conscientious wait staff. Always a pleasurable experience!
Lovely brunch, lovely service. It could not have been nicer or more delicious!
The service was impeccable, the food fantastic! It was a wonderful evening!
It was my wife's birthday and we were the guests of our friends that belong to the club with a $200 gift certificate. Everyone was accommodating to show us a good time. We went at happy hour, had 5 appetizers and four drinks and the bill was $147 for the 2 of us. The view was lovely, the staff friendly and receptive and the Mansion open and available to sit and view out almost anywhere. We were comfortable.
The food was great. Within the last two weeks there was a change in menu with the employment of a new French Chef. The service was outstanding.
Wonderful food, well presented, great atmosphere, service was on the mark ! Will go again, and again.
