Delightful local eatery with an interesting menu. We’ll definitely return.
Everything was wonderful. We were there celebrating 3 birthdays and the birthday gals loved it. Only one issue - we brought a birthday cake and the restaurant charges $10 for cutting it. We had a knife with us so it was no big deal, but I think that is over the top in a charge.
Our waiter was fab---we loved the food! We'll return when in Beaufort! Highly recommended. Interesting, peaceful atmosphere. Great martini! Thanks!
Really lovely lunch. We will return on our next trip to Beaufort.
Beautiful setting with delicious food and wine. Excellent service and hospitality. A charming experience!
Excellent food drinks service and friends
A lovely experience!
Wonderful fish! Great new waitress. Really nice time
We met friends there for lunch. It turned out to be a very good place. The food was very good, as was the service. The ambience was upscale modern, and our overall experience was very enjoyable.
We are in the area once or twice a year and have always had lovely meals with attentive service. Sadly, on our recent visit, this was not the case. After fifteen minutes, we asked the hostess to please send over a server who finally arrived five minutes later. Drinks were slow to arrive at the table and came in three waves for four diners. We had to ask that plates from our starter be removed from the table and when the the entrees were served, they arrived in two waves nearly five minutes apart. The food was fine but not memorable has it had been in the past. Let’s hope things were just off this particular day.
Service was a little slow.
They kept saying they weren’t under staffed but it really seemed like they were for how slow our waitress was.
Especially for a Friday night.
Love the food and the atmosphere! The customer service was amazing as well!
We visit the area a few times a year and always dine here once during our stay. We invited my in laws to join us for dinner. The table we sat the lighting was very dim. The server was not attentive in the slightest. It was 15-20mins before she came to get our drink order. After the entrees were served she came back to ask if the bill would be split. We had to ask her if there was dessert. The food was great as always, but we were disappointed in the service. It wasn’t a great 1st impression for my in-laws.
Wonderful place to eat a delicious meal. The staff and the food were great, no concerns or disappointments. Portion sizes are more than enough, prices are good from this excellent menu. We had the mushroom flatbread, meatloaf and flounder dishes and all were so tasty. The special touches for our anniversary were generous and kind. We really enjoyed and will be back when in the area. Thank you.
Love the character of Wren, food is always delicious. It's just too darned noisy for our old ears.
Always a great meal
First time we went for dinner
It was great
Our server was absolutely perfect and so patient with my elderly Mom. Everything we ordered was delicious.
Service was efficient and pleasant. The food very good. I love the mango tea. The happy neighborhood atmosphere is relaxing.
Delicious food and excellent service. Would definitely recommend
Met a good friend for supper! Food was great as usual! Enjoyed our meal & time together!
Absolutely delightful...from the food to the service to the ambiance!
Food is always outstanding. We come here at least 3 times a month and never disappointed with the food. We had friends in town so we made reservations, they loved the food and atmosphere. Service however this time was not so wonderful. I asked for a Togo box, the woman rolled her eyes, grabbed my plate, removed my silver wear and never came back with my leftover food I asked to take Togo. We ordered another round of drinks, never showed up. Next time we will sit at the high tops (where we typically sit)
Love Wren, one of our favorite places locally.
I had 3 childhood friends in town for a visit! We had a 6:00 reservation & we were seated right away, however, the hostess wasn’t the least bit welcoming. 2 of us enjoyed their meals, but the 2 who ordered chicken couldn’t even cut it, it was so tough and over cooked. When the waitress cleared our table, I told her, but she just didn’t seem to care.
We went to Wren Bistro on a Tuesday night and it was a quiet evening. We were immediate seated and our server acknowledged us within a couple of minutes. Our drink order and appetizer order were taken within a reasonable amount of time. The same can be said for how quickly we were served. The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed the look of the restaurant, the old brick walls and pleasant atmosphere. Our issue came to how long it took for our food to arrive at the table. I am in no way blaming the server for the the problem. The blame rests solely on the kitchen. As we waited for our food we witnessed three other couples who were seated after us receive their food. One patron, seated right next to us, ordered the same dish as I. I cannot believe my wife's meal, shrimp and cheese grits, could possibly take longer to prepare than my chicken dinner. We did express our concern to the server and she, too, was dismayed at the length of time the kitchen was taking to prepare our meal. The server did offer a free dessert as a thank you for our patience. If not for the experience with the kitchen I would award four stars across the board for the Wren Bistro.
Wrens is always a good place for nicely prepared food, friendly servers and prices just right. Just in downtown Beaufort.
The restaurant was very nice. The ribeye steak was full of grissle, however. Our biggest problem was that our reservation on open table never reached them. Open table did confirm it twice throughout the day to me but Wren was unaware of our reservation. Luckily they had a table for us. I’m a bit concerned about using this service in the future and not having that kind of luck.
Very quaint bar and restaurant. Friendly service and great food.
Service was timely and professional with our wait staff member appropriately checking on how things were . She could not have been nicer. Were served a very nice large salad quickly and its presentation was 1st class.
Wren is my favorite Beaufort restaurant. It NEVER disappoints!
Nicest restaurant for lunch Best chicken salad ever. We like everything on this menu
We dined here based on positive reviews, and we were not disappointed. Tasty cocktails to begin the evening and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees (I had the pecan-crusted chicken and the others both had the evening special - which was absolutely delicious tuna). We split a piece of decadent coconut cake for dessert. Our server was great, as well (April?) We will be back if in the area again.
Worth a visit when in town
This is a very popular place, but they did the one thing that makes me never go back to a restaurant — they brought the main courses when we weren’t even halfway through our salads. We sent them back, and the waitress said the kitchen would redo them, but they came out limp and tepid. Go and enjoy, but make sure you tell them not to rush your order.
Michael our waiter was top notch.
Food was delicious, but the meatloaf was just a bit too spicy for our taste and the chicken pecan was nicely seasoned but slightly over cooked. The server was overwhelmed and unable to provide adequate attention. We enjoy The Wren and will likely return. Fried green tomatoes were superb.
It was good but not as good as it used to be a year or 2 ago. We’ll go back as it’s a place we have frequented for several years.
Very tasty seafood and bisques. Shrimp and grits with cream sauce is a little different than other places but still very good as was the crusted fried flounder.
Had lunch at Wren. First time there. Very nice menu and one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I've ever had. Wish I lived closer.
My dinner was an outstanding experience. Loved the presentation of the fish, and the seasoning was a great compliment to it. Go, don't miss this place, treat yourself to superb service and a dinner to match !
