Wren Bistro & Bar
The food is always incredible, we were served in good time with a lovely wait staff!
One of our favorite Beaufort eateries!
The food was delicious and the service outstanding.
Reservations for four at 7:30 on a Friday night. Hostess seemed confused as to where to put us. Told us they were cleaning a table in the back. Waited another 15 minutes to be seated. Only one appetizer which was seafood bisque. That was delicious. Reason for deduction of stars is as follows: no place settings on the table after waiting 15 minutes to be seated. Also, three dinners were brought out together and the last dinner lagged behind by about 8-10 minutes. Disappointing. All of the dinners were beautifully displayed and were really delicious, so I will overlook the lack of service and will return in the future based on the food alone! Hopefully things will improve as time goes on!
The Bartender was very personable and charming. Ben’s suggestion for the cocktail that evening was made to perfection.
The hostess welcomed my husband and I with warmth and sat us in a quiet, romantic corner.
We love to cook and I may say well.
The pork chop tender and the steak,
which was ordered MR, dead on.
The manager (a female) rushed myself and the two ladies I was with out because another reservation was there. We were at a 4 top table and 2 people came to take our table. As we were walking out, we realized there were about at least 4 open two top tables that were available before we got up AND they had open reservations still (because we checked). Also- the shrimp and grits was very untraditional and very sweet as it had applewood bacon in it. But other food was great!
So disappointed in Wren last night. We had a reservation at 6, which we arrived on time for. At 7pm, our check was brought and we still had full wine glasses and more in the bottle. We were not asked if we’d like dessert. We were told the table needed to be turned over. After one hour. Very uncomfortable. At 710, a different person came by and said are you almost done. We still had wine. 10 minutes later we were reminded there was a reservation waiting, so I asked, what do I need to do differently. This is the 3rd time we have been asked to leave. The table behind us was here when we arrived and no one has approached them to leave. Completely unacceptable that a “nicer” restaurant would push a party of 4 out the door an hour after sitting down.
Best burgers in town! We had good service and food. Service can be hit or miss but we did well.
Food was not hot but it was good. Server was attentive and quick.
Excellent food and interesting menu
Brought an out of town guest here and we had a terrific dinner. I had the oh so good chicken diablo and the other guests had really very good cheese burgers. Service was timely and professional, noise level was most comfortable and all service was non-intrusive.
Will for sure order the diablo again !
Great spot! They were a little short-handed due to Covid, yet were still able to exceed our expectations as being a great place to have an excellent dinner! Bravo!
Everyone loved their meal. The shrimp and grits were the best around. Wren's is always consistent.
Our table for 6 on Friday was very good. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was quite noisy to the point that having a conversation was difficult. When we went back on Saturday we were blown off by being told that it would be in 1 hour wait when there were empty tables in sight. The lady at the desk was flippant about the fact that they did not have anything in clearly made it known that they did not want anybody waiting. As good as the food was on Friday because of Saturday we will not be going back and we live in the area.
Wonderful food and cocktails. Friendly and efficient server.
Favorite go to lunch spot in town. Awesome big salads with protein. Wish they would expand the white wine by glass list and bring back the Albariño or Vino Verde or add a Gruner Veltliner.
All was great, food and service wonderful!
In town for the weekend, picked Wren and was not disappointed. The ambience is perfect, cozy and warm very intimate. We had pasta, fried flounder and steak and all entrees were delicious. Service was top notch, very attentive but not hovering. Would definitely recommend!
Everyone in our party of six enjoyed the food and the service and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely return when in downtown Beaufort.
I love the Southern Salad and your tea with oranges and strawberries. We had a great lunch!
Wren and their staff never disappoint. They always do a great job. Food is fresh, hot and delicious!!
Had a great meal at Wren. Mahi-mahi was excellent. Crispy flounder also delicious. Wonderful evening.
Good lunch spot. Nice menu. Service was ok but it too so long to pay that we ended up leaving cash. Waitstaff supposed to wear masks but one server didn’t wear it correctly- needed to cover her nose. Drove me nuts looking at her!
Delicious. We love dining at Wren!
Felt very special for our anniversary. Dinner was delicious and the service was delightful.
Excellent chicken salad for lunch. Waitress was super!
So good. Crispy flounder was the best flounder I’ve ever had. All the food is amazing and service is great. Such a good experience as always!
A good experience for an evening out with my wife. Service was great, with excellent attention to us. The food was very good, as I enjoyed the flounder dinner with drinks. Overall a good experience.
The waiter was not cued in to being a waiter. But he did deliver the food. The dishes are high quality.
We were so glad we made a reservation as we watched people pour in til they were out on the street! The place is rustic and really cute. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Great value. Will definitely go back.
This is one of the few restaurants open for lunch in Beaufort DT area. The food is quite good, but the ambiance really needs an update. It's very austere and shabby these days. The large round table in the back is sticky and had large holes in it. Either get a new table top or offer table clothes. Additionally, there are large sea grass rugs hanging on either side, making the person sitting by them have to move every time anyone gets up. Time for updates.
Excellent food and service.
This used to be a favorite. Planned this dinner for some time and was a bit disappointed. Ambiance has really diminished since last visit and food was cold when served.
Dinner was excellent with plenty of food. Mahi was great. Waiter was very efficient. Have always enjoyed Wren.
I believe we were seated next to LauraO, and I will echo her review, and add some to it. We were even closer to the work station, and overheard all of the derogatory comments the waitstaff made about them.
Wren was always the FIRST place on our list when we go to Beaufort, and we always get the garlic shrimp. This time, it was overcooked shrimp in a bowl of milk. We asked the manager if they had changed the recipe, he said they had not, and that it was delicious. I sad no, it was bad. He then argued with me and took it away. We then overheard the waitstaff calling us "a#$^&!$@". We waited a little longer then decided to leave, for fear of what they would do to the other food we ordered. We told the manager, and he couldn't have cared less. Their excuse was their computers were down. I didn't know computers cooked.
We WERE regulars there. I doubt we will remain so.
Hostess was not present when we arrived. And not friendly
We were seated back in a corner in a work area.
Food was poor.
I had made reservations - expected more.
Delicious Thursday hamburger value, highly recommend !
We love Wren! Every Thursday is Burger night. The southern salad with grilled chicken is so delicious.
Nice aesthetic, cozy but not squished and comfortable noise level. Service was very good, but had to ask for water several times which is annoying. Shared the pimento appetizer, which was not good. The cheese was gummy, not hot and tasteless. We also had the shrimp and grits. The grit cakes were good, and we each got maybe 6 small-medium shrimp. The sauce the right blend of flavors but it waa a thin soupy consistency and half the bowl waa filled with it, so the cakes were soggy. We ordered a raspberry donut cheesecake for dessert which was very good. I’ll try it again hoping it waa an off night.
Delicious burger ! lovely restaurant and service was great
