About Workshop Kitchen + Bar

Dedicated to food, drink, design, and community. Workshop Kitchen + Bar is Palm Spring's newest gem in the heart of the Uptown Design District.
Located in the Class 1 Historic El Paseo building from 1926, Workshop’s Industrial chic interior gives the historic space a contemporary edge befitting the locale.

Our kitchen is based around seasonal products from local farms, so the menu changes often. Although "Americana" may best describe the style of our food, influences are many. Favorite techniques in the kitchen include our wood-fired pizza oven, wood-fired grill, and custom sous-vide station.
The bar looks mostly to American classics and carefully homemade basics. Original cocktails vary with the market's availability and our bartender's mood.

* Please note: Booth seating is limited and is reserved for parties of 3 - 6. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but make no guarantees. For special requests, please call us at (760) 459-3451. *

The crafted cocktails at TnT before dinner set the tone for a perfect evening. Dinner at Workshop was amazing the Mussels were the best I’ve ever had. The braised pork cheek fries were excellent. The hanger steak, scallops and truffle roasted Collie flower we’re prepared perfectly. Along with the excellent service provided by Matt made for a great evening and experience . *

One of the best meals Ive ever had. The food is delicious. The service impeccable. And the ambiance is just right. Make sure you reserve a side table seating or else you’ll be sharing your meal with other diners in a very long table set in the middle of the room. Either way you’ll definitely enjoy your meal. Highly recommended

We've been to Workshop many times. The food has always been fantastic. The service has continued to improve. This visit, we went for Sunday brunch and had the pleasure of being served by Diego. He was knowledgeable, attentive, charming and he made the visit memorable.
We'll continue to come back.

Even though we have overall enjoyed our dinner at Workshop only one meal stood out (mussels) and we ordered and shared almost all of the small plates on the menu. Items like ‘shaved Brussel sprouts’ were rather bland. Disappointing was the wood fire pizza.
Overall an enjoyable place for a night out in Palm Springs - really enjoyed the cocktails!

I loved the food! But we had to sit at a communial table and of course I had a kid sitting next to me that didn't want to sit still. I found the food to be very good but the portions are small and the prices at big! I spent $200 for a dinner for two and I was still hungry when I left. Maybe this is just a eat an appetizer at the bar and enjoy a cocktail kind of place. I spent $90 on a fish for two people and it had maybe 3-4oz each for us! I had to order bread because we were so hungry! The food did taste wonderful but if you are hungry this isn't the place for you!

Excellent menu, but pricey. Cocktails were excellent. One glass of wine did not meet expectations and the server whisked it away at no charge, and a new wine was selected.

Had 4 appetizers, five entrees and one dessert. Apps - lobster mac and cheese, duck fat fries, mussels and ceasar salad - were excellent . Mussels were best any of us had ever had, anywhere. Of the entres - black cod, diver scallops, duck confit, pork chop, and fish special (dover sole), the“special” entre, a whole dover sole for two, was talked up, but was a huge disappointment; the others were all great, particularly the duck. Skip the home made ice cream.

Indoors scene looked very cool. We ate outside on the patio which was also beautiful. Would have given it 5 stars, but chairs were a bit uncomfortable.

Our server was a pro. Enough said.

We will go again. It was an excellent night.

The day prior to our reservation, staff called to confirm the reservation and informed us we would be sitting at the community table. I informed the host that we would have our infant son with us and this would not be ideal. When we arrived for thanksgiving dinner for the 5:00 seating, the hosts were cold and unwelcoming and proceeded to seat us at the community table with no place to put the car seat that I had told them would be with us. We then asked for a different table, maybe a booth and the host literally told me well these people have reservations. This was confusing since I also had a reservation. The host then walked away and the only place I could put the car seat was on the floor on the stairs next to the community table. My husband then insisted that we have a table somewhere else- the host told him that we had to be out by 6:30. We sat outside and the food was wonderful. Although we literally smelled sewer gas the entire time. Our waiter was nice enough but honestly kind of short with us and they scooted us out the door at 6:30 so congrats to them. We eat out a lot and I’m not sure I’ve had an experience in California where the hosts were so rude.

We Absolutely loved our experience. All in our party we’re equally as impressed by the service and food. We ate our Thanksgiving meal there and it was perfect. The mood was celebratory and we were so grateful to have chosen this location for our Friendsgiving. Every bite of food was heaven and the wine was delicious!! A+ experience and one that we will surely do again. ❤️🌴

The food was the star at Workshop Kitchen - everything was delicious and we’d come back just for that. Our server was friendly, however we felt incredibly rushed throughout our meal, not in a rude way, but we had appetizers, entrees and dessert in less than an hour. We had a res at 6:15 outside, and tried calling the restaurant to see if we could come earlier. We couldn’t get through, so we moved it up to 5:30 on the opentable app. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the hostess was none too pleased with my husband and told him she could not seat us outside, despite that section being about 1/8 full. I also asked her myself and mentioned the outdoor area was practically empty, but she wouldn’t budge and told us she could only seat us outside if another party cancelled their res, saying the entire restaurant was about to totally fill up in about five minutes. Needless to say, upon our exit precisely an hour later, there were still PLENTY of empty tables both inside and outside. Hospitality is everything and unfortunately we didn’t feel it from Workshop. In summary, food was great, service was not as great.

We chose workshop for our last night in Palm Springs. We were seated at the community table which, despite being one long table, gave us enough room to feel separate from our neighbors. My husband enjoyed his cocktails. They were inventive with lots of choices. The food was meh. We had the brussels which were too sweet and the duck fat fries to start. For the entree we had the scallops which were gritty and overcooked and the hanger steak which was ok, but again overseasoned. A good piece of steak should be able to stand more on its own. I had to ask for refils of my water. The most attentive person was the one who took away our plate when there was still half the food on it. There were large parties trying to out do each other singing happy birthday. Overall it just wasnt up to the caliber I was expecting given the $150 bill for two people.

Have wanted to dine here for some time and with friends in town from the UK thought the timing for this first visit was appropriate. Obviously well-patronized, food was a bit better than average but not outstanding, service was fine but menu and drink offerings were definitely over-priced.

We've eaten at Workshop many times and have always taken the "small plate" approach. At our servers strong recommendation we tried the whole black sea bass and were richly rewarded. It's fantastic. Great flavors and a wonderful presentation.

We definitely enjoyed our food at Workshop but the experience was made all the better by our wonderful waiter, Jeff. He was fantastic - friendly and helpful and really outstanding overall.

Thoughts on the food - the bread was good with a yummy truffle butter. LOVED the pork belly fries and would definitely order those again. We were picking between those and the sprouts and they came w/ some sprouts so we were happy. Definitely an unusual dish that's delicious.

For mains my husband had the hangar steak and I had the farro risotto. The steak was beautifully cooked and he said it was tasty. The farro was quite overpriced ($34) but was a large portion. Nothing I'd write home about but it was tasty. I'd probably try something else next time. The girl next to us had the chicken and she loved it.

Flourless chocolate cake for dessert was good.

Overall, it's not the cheapest meal you can get but quality was good and service is outstanding. They're weird about the seating arrangements. We ended up in the communal table but there's plenty of space between seats so it doesn't really feel like you're dining with strangers. You've sat closer to people in other restaurants at neighboring tables than you do at this giant communal table. However, the cube seating does get uncomfortable after a while. I would have liked to have been able to lean back at some point.

Oh - drinks were good. Not a cheap wine list by the glass by any means, but cocktails were tasty.

We dined here for our six month anniversary. It was the perfect mix of sexy, romantic, casual and chic. Service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. Their cocktails are well balanced and beer selection on point. We had the best night and will be coming back for more next time we are in Palm Springs :)

One of the best meals ever. Everything was amazing. Party of two shared four small plates: wood fired pizza with rabbit confit; romanesco: shaved Brussels sprouts; and a little gem Caesar salad with white anchovies. The Palm Springer cocktail was phenomenal. Ended with a lemon tart with sorbet. Dined outdoors with a small dog. The waiter was exceptional. Really a perfect meal.
