Fish was cold. Mistakes happen. It did get taken off the bill, but we sat there for 5 min waiting for the waiter to go “check with the kitchen” before the “Im so sorry, I can take care of that for you. Would you like to try something different”. Happy with the outcome, but should have happened instantly at Applebee’s much less a place like this.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Workshopbut it wasn’t amazing. I think I’ll remember the interior/design more than the food. Our neighbors at the communal table got the ribeye to share and that was huge and looked amazing. Brussel sprout salad was good but nothing show stopper about it. The octopus calamari was well cooked (sou veed) but was too acidic in preparation and needed some olive oil perhaps to even it out. The duck study #2 was yummy (I love a good pate). The entrees and dessert was all good don’t get me wrong but nothing that we were blown away from. All in all worth while but would not go back again.

Shared ribeye was top notch.
Can go wrong with any pairing. Everything on the menu blends and is hi quality and complex.
Get the bread with truffle spread.

I’m not sure why people have given this restaurant 5 stars. The cod was fishy. The scallops were chewy. Everything were small portions, ala carte and expensive. The $27 burger is good but its not with the price. And that’s just a burger. The community table is awkward. I removed this from my list of places to eat in Palm Springs. Tropicale is 10 times better

Outstanding destination. Loved the food, atmosphere, service, all of it. Had the cauliflower appetizer and bread service. Later was served with truffle butter on the night we visited. For entrees I had the scallops with polenta and pork jowl. The jowl had a wonderful porky flavor to the dish. My wife had the black cod which was also very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Getting hungry just typing this. Nice wine list with some interesting choices. We had the xarel.lo. This is the grape that Cava is made from and is relatively rare to find as a still wine. Think a poor man's white burgundy, albeit at $80 per bottle. Overall a great experience and would definitely go back.

One of if not the best restaurant in Palm Springs. It’ll cost you but it’s worth it. Hand crafted cocktails, amazing food, stellar service and beautiful atmosphere.

A real “foodie” address. Big deal, not worth it. Expensive, very small portions. Wines are significantly marked up. Staff really push the cocktails. Requests re food not honoured (I.e., sauce on the side). To be fair when this was pointed out, staff offered to replace the dishes.

Some of the dishes were lacking in flavour, particularly the flourless chocolate cake. Duck starter was good but no toast for the pate. Worked out because the pate portion of the dish turned out to be just a smear on the plate. Bread is an additional charge of $7 for 3 pieces with a small end piece.

Noise level made conversation extremely difficult. To add to noise level, part way thru the meal the music was turned up many decibels. Most unnecessary. Again, to be fair they did respond to a request to turn down the music.

Would-be patrons will find it quieter in the courtyard, weather permitting. Nevertheless, that won’t address the disappointing food, noise level, and minuscule portions.

We have dined at the Workshop two other times and had similar experiences. It is a beautiful, very stylish restaurant with soaring ceilings and a long communal table with booths along the sides. Its a real scene with a ton of energy. We will ask to be seated on the communal table that is very friendly and lots of fun.

The food was quite good but not as noteworthy as we had expected. Great wine list. I had a hamburger that was quite good as my wife had the vegetarian plate which was less successful. We are very familiar with the desert food scene and are glad to see places like the Workshop open. It's a great addition to the community.

Specify your seating when making your reservation. O.T. says they will automatically put you at their communal table if your party is less than 3, but I saw several tables of 2 in booths. So, maybe next time I'll ask for a booth &we'll see what happens. Other than that, the food & drinks are amazing. Very different &tasty & great tasting cocktails. Very much lives up to the hype.

Great staff; varied wine list with some “dark horse” good values (Ernach Marcobrunn Kabinett Riesling 2003 for $85 was spot on); menu is executed very well based on two visits, three days apart. Salmon tartine and “Apples and Cheese” were superb.

My husband and I went to Workshop Kitchen for brunch this past Sunday as part of a recent effort of trying restaurants that neither of us had been to before. This turned out to be a terrific experience. The cocktails we ordered were both excellent. Both the Tom Collins and Gin Fizz were nothing short of amazing, especially the Gin Fizz, which takes considerable effort to prepare and very much worth it, not unlike a great soufflé! The Duck Fat Fries are a must and the frittata and Blue Crab Eggs Benedict were extraordinary. Service was ideally prompt, attentive, friendly yet professional!

We both loved the design of this unique space that once housed a small movie theatre. The industrial design might not be to everyone’s liking, but it really promotes an exciting vibe. Of course, the delightful patio makes for a terrific option.

I couldn’t recommend this place enough and will be back very soon for dinner!

this place offers great food , cool space but man is it loud !!!!!

dont go here unless you want to yell at your friends to get heard its all concrete so it is so loud in there , hard to ebjoy the great food they make
another example where designers design a space to look cool but do not take into consideration the effect of all this hardscape on sound . too bad

Our adult children recommended Workshop Kitchen and Bar, based on research and reviews. My husband and I were in Palm Springs to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We made reservations for Sunday brunch, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Our brunch selections were outstanding, composed of fresh ingredients that were put together in creative, delicious ways. The staff was courteous and friendly. The decor is interesting and inviting too. If we lived close to Palm Springs, we would become regular customers and take the opportunity to sample all that the restaurant has to offer. The experience was the perfect way to end several days of celebration.

Amazing food. Best meal that I have had in a long time. Everything was perfect: cocktails, wine, starters, entree, and dessert. Best caesar salad I have ever had. Pork cheek fries were spicy and amazing. Duck Confit was to die for and the pork chop was moist and flavorful. I am not a fruit dessert person, but the apple tart was recommended by our server. I was unsure of not ordering a chocolate item, however, I did not miss it. The service was impeccable as well. The chef and owner even came to our table and checked on us. The patio was beautiful and they made sure that the temperature was kept just right with the heat lamps. This night was absolutely perfect. It was not an inexpensive meal, but it was worth every penny. I would go back again in a heartbeat.

Frosty reception when we showed up 10 minutes early-even though our booth was empty and available. There are ways to be welcoming even if you don’t want to seat us yet (even though you did a week before when the same thing happened-sorry on NYC time.) We weren’t shown to the bar etc just told to “leave and come back in 10 minutes.” After that the experience was excellent as usual with wonderful drinks and inventive food. Waiter recommendations were spot on.

Good meal.....especially mussels and grilled bread as well as scallop plate. Only the Ceasar salad was poorly prepared and expensive. The salad was drenched in dressing and contained no croutons nor any hint of garlic. The apple tart consisted of flavorful apples but the crust was a little tough. Overall prices were slightly high despite some creative and inspiring elements.
