Woolley's Kitchen & Bar

Not sure where the award winning food came from…below average on taste and presentation. We were staying at the hotel and had reservations. No one cared that we even had a reservation, a table was not set, nor was there even a server available. It says business casual dress..there was literally a group of 8 individuals in construction clothes, certain from an entire day of work. Very loud bar type atmosphere. Not at all a quality star restaurant especially for any sort of “pleasant”dining experience.
This used to be called Woolley's Steakhouse when we dined here 5 years ago for our anniversary and I gave it a 4-star rating back then. We had a great experience then so we decided to come back for my sister-in-law's 70th birthday. It was a Sunday, and there were only 2 other tables occupied, so I thought that was a bit strange. We sat ourselves at a table for 4 and the hostess greeted us with a smile and an exuberant charm taking drink orders and bringing water. Nice start. While we waited for drinks we noticed that it was cold and drafty in the 5-story atrium where we sat so I checked around and noticed that all the tables were similarly drafty. About 10 minutes later, a different server appeared, and I asked if the temperature could be raised slightly and she said no, but later brought me a blanket - a nice gesture. Our drinks finally arrived and she asked if were ready to order, but we were not, so she said she'd be back in a few minutes. Well, it had to be 20 - 30 minutes later when we began looking for her and could not find her. After a while longer, I went to the bar and asked someone to send her to our table to place our order. She then appeared immediately. When I asked how the red-eye rib eye was prepared, she said with coffee... what? Is that a rub; is there a wine or pan sauce, I asked? "No wine and no sauce", she said, but my wife encouraged me to try it. After all, we had had such a great meal 5 years ago and the website says the same chef was still here so I said okay, I'll try it with Bearnaise sauce-glazed broccolini. The other 3 guests all had the 10 oz filet and my wife ordered the loaded baked potato side. Apparently, due to COVID, the salad bar is gone that had been included with all dinners on our last visit. We all ordered either soup or salad that arrived about 15 minutes later. My 1/2 wedge salad was smaller than I expected but tasted good nonetheless. My wife's French Onion soup tasted like canned beef broth. About 30 minutes later, our s
Very good food. Typical prices for an establishment like this. Limit d kids menu but my girls still enjoyed it. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. We went 2 evenings in a row for dinner.
Service was very slow! Looked like they were short handed. Ordered our food and they missed one of dinners, and then lied when they came back. Manager came and offered to buy a round of drinks and asked us to come back and try them again and he would buy us dinner. Never gave us a coupon for that. Based upon our experience we would probably not return.
Really great customer service. We enjoyed the food but would have liked to be sitted not so close to the door because it was cold.
The food was fantastic. The service was quick, as soon as we finished with one course the next course was out. It’s a little noisy due to being in a hotel but that’s to be expected. We will definitely be back.
Wasn’t horrible -husband really like the cocktail on special but food was lack luster -salmon was fishy salad blah. Nice location in the hotel but just wasn’t impressed.
Woolleys is the best. The food is very good and well prepared and the service is fantastic.
We had the steak and shrimp and sea scallops and it was absolutely delicious!
We made a reservation less than 1 hour prior to our seating time and were told they were busier than expected and had to wait. We were seated in the bar which was fine, but service was very slow. Food was very good and price reasonable. We love Woolley's since we had our wedding reception there in 2003 and will try again. Perhaps some of the issues are due to continued COVID restrictions.
I made reservations for 7pm for their Valentines dinner. When we got there the parking was awful. We almost left but found a spot and went in at 7. We were told we'd have to wait 20 mins to be seated?? 3 other couples were there also with 7pm reservations. I don't know if they overbooked or under staffed, but they did open a couple tables and we were seated within a few mins. The manager took our orders to help out the waitress. Other than the initial annoyance, they recovered with a quick response and the food and service was really excellent. I would recommend them for their regular menu too, the prices are decent and I liked the atmosphere.
Great Valentine 3 course meal with a bottle of wine. Excellent service as always. My only disappointment was in finding a parking spot. I think they rent out too many spots for airport parking. We drove around several times before someone left and we could park.
Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Impressive wine list, and well crafted food.
The food was fantastic and our server was great! She was attentive to my wife and me and our 3 year old daughter. Couldn't have had a better Valentines dinner night with my family!
We order the ribeye steak, very expensive we asked for it to be cooked medium/rare but was more well done, I ordered the Woolley’s Burger and it was delicious and cooked perfectly, my side of buttery mashed potatoes were great, they also came with their homemade potato chips but they were very bland and served cold.
We came here for my fiancé’s birthday. The major downfall was that they were out of the sirloin steak, which my fiancé and my best friend were planning on ordering. The fettuccine was delicious. I’d probably eat here again.
A secret gem! Who would think a restaurant in a hotel would be so great? The service was excellent along with fantastic food. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
We have to mention Beef Wellington, Maple Bacon Pork Chops and the Scalloped Potatoes. The food was uniquely prepared and great, the service impeccable
If you haven’t been to Whooley’s lately it was a welcome break from COVID 19 food offerings
Woolleys... we had to hunt down wait staff to order and pay. The food was marginal at best. Not a place I would recommend.
Impeccable food! Just perfect! The service was a bit slow, but I'm sure they will get back to normal.
Woolley’s is different than most hotel restaurants because it is an independent owned restaurant.
Timely, friendly, professional service and the food is delicious!!
Seating was quick but we waited roughly 20 minutes before we meet with out waiter to place drink order another 10 to receive drinks never received our water that was ordered until after we finished our food which did come out quickly but took another 20 minutes to even have our order placed but when we ordered a White Russians to go with dessert it had to be remade three separate times for it to even taste semi correctly
Wooley's is a really nice, quiet place to eat with great food! They have set up outdoor dining during Covid-19, and was just as good as eating inside!
The outdoor dining was fantastic! Excellent service. Very professional and following all current health guidelines. Go! You won’t regret it.
Very well satisfied with all that we experienced highly recommend
We went in and it was seat yourself, so we sat in the bar. Food was great, service was wonderful and we would definitely go back. Looking at the orders of the people around me, their food looked very good as well.
Glad you enjoyed your experience with us! Thanks for the kind feedback, Michael :)
The old ambiance with plants and flowers and water was really missed. It looks like a office cafeteria with cubicles now. Service is always wonderful. Food was good but not as in the past .
We appreciate your feedback!
Had the Prime Rib & Shrimp Scampi.
8/10 on both. $70 meal with one drink.
Good but not exceptional. A salad and bread offering would have helped. We asked for bread, got it. Salads are extra.
We appreciate your feedback - definitely noted! Thank you for the visit.
The food is average, the service was good. I will give them another try soon. Great location
We appreciate your feedback, Peter!
We were there for dinner and had 2 hours before we needed to leave for a movie. There were 5 of us. We enjoyed an appetizer and some drinks along with dinner and then dessert. It was very relaxing and we never felt like we were lingering or needed to leave. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent!
Shawn the server was way to pushy and didn’t get us what we would ask for like refills etc. food was under cooked and not to our ordered specs. This is the third time I’ve been here and had terrible service!
Lobster was over done and chewy. Baked potato was overdone. Everything else was very good. Said business casual but was more casual then that for others dressed so maybe should be listed as casual dress.
Better than average food. Scallops are to die for, highly recommend.
Eric, thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed the scallops. We hope to see you back again soon!
Service was very slow. We ordered Lobster Tails which they were ‘sold out of, yet there weren’t many people there. The baked potatoe that came with my meal was dried out and the cheese was ‘crunchy’, not freshly melted. Seemed like it been sitting there quite a while. For the money. I would not go back.
I wouldn’t recommend it on the evening that the Vikings won and the dining room was closed. Very noisy but the fans had a good reason.
This was our 4th visit to Wooley's and it never disappoints! We come here whenever we visit the area.
Shawn was our waiter he was excellent, we had the Prime Rib and Black & Bleu Pasta and a very nice trio desert with cheese cake, creme brulee, and chocolate ganache cake. It was a fantastic dinner, will be back!
Even though the did not find my reservation or recognize my name, the accommodated us and we had great service and food. A night to remember, especially when after writing Open Table that the restaurant could not find my reservation, I was notified I was a 'No Show'. No worries, its all good
