Woodward Table Ratings and Reviews
The squash soup and the pork chops were both outstanding. One of the largest cocktails (rum & Coke) I have eve been served (and it was excellent). Tetiana provided superb, attentive service, and did not hurry us as our group took some time in deciding what to order. Very relaxing evening.
Bar was comfortable and moscow mule was well made. My friend didn't enjoy his whisky sour. The bare tables with plastic table mats was too casual for the menu. No real ambiance. The food was good. Steaks well prepared, excellent fried chicken, no fillers in the crab cakes. The bottom of the Parker rolls burnt - and don't charge me for bread. The smoked tuna was not to my liking. Didn't have dessert.
I reviewed the dinner menu on OpenTable and it looked great - flatbreads, burgers, Southern food, yum! When we showed up, the menu was completely different. I wondered if I had looked at the wrong menu, but I looked on Open Table again and the dinner menu they listed was totally different. I showed our waitress and she acknowledged that it was wrong and apologized. I asked if we could still get a flat bread, which I saw someone eating at the bar, and she said no, which I found surprising. They clearly had the ingredients, why not make an exception to make a disappointed customer happy? She was nice about it and the ambience and location were good, but the expectation created by the Open Table menu did not meet the reality. The dinner selection was more limited and expensive than we expected. However, the ambience was very good and most in our party enjoyed their meal. If you want a nice, pricier option close to the White House, this is still a good option, just make sure to check the Woodward Table website’s menu to get a (hopefully) accurate idea of the food and prices.
Several of our dishes were VERY cold (refrigerator cold) and had to be sent back. However, it was 8:30 on Thanksgiving night and we felt lucky to have found a restaurant still serving. Servers were very slow in bringing food back and checking up on us, but other than that it was a nice experience. Would go back on a non-holiday to see if it is better.
This was a last minute Thanksving Day decision. Our original plans were cancelled. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. It's on the pricey side but well worth it. Parking is a bit tricky as all the public garages were closed due to the holiday. The music level was perfect as well as the music selection (old R&B). I've only been there once for lunch and the noise level was slightly higher than I would have liked but the food and service was excellent. One of the dishes ordered was on the salty side but they gladly replaced it for something else. Everything else was perfectly season. Given we can't have much salt I was very happy with the food. You can always add salt but you can't take it off. Hope the Chef remains there b/c I am definitely a fan.
This was a very nice place. The food was good but a little pricey what I felt we got. The service was great. The drinks were delicious. It was nice ambiance for a little girls night out dinner. It felt very romantic as well, if you are looking for a date night place.
The bartender made great recommendations and our cocktails were excellent. The Crab cakes were delicious. The rest of the food was good. Our entrees arrived with some of our appetizers and before one of them and it took a long time to get our check even though it didn't seem very busy.
Woodward Table was enjoyable for the reception that we received from our host, Don and the delicious offerings from the menu. My overall rating would have been higher, but the service was lacking. An unacceptable wait for our Server/Waiter, having to refill our own water and wine, and failure to clear our table in a timely manner (before the next dishes arrived) detracted from the overall experience.
This was a fabulous experience for my sister and me. We were welcomed by our host, Don, as if we were family, and he checked on us throughout the evening. Our waiter, Antonio, continued our evening with suggestions about drinks and food.
Because I’m a Georgia girl, pimento cheese is an important staple in my diet, and I was delighted to see it on the menu as an appetizer. It was deeeelicious served with benne crackers and a selection of pickles. It was a perfect start.
For our main, we ordered one of their brick oven pizzas - a margarithea. There appeared to be a snafu in the kitchen (which is open to the dining area), which caused a wait that was probably a little longer than usual, but we were comfortable in our wait. Don checked on us, and when he discovered that we had not received our meal, he went to the kitchen and put the fear of God into the kitchen staff - then delivered the pizza himself with a complimentary glass of wine. The pizza was worth waiting for!!!
Definitely will return to Woodward Table!!!
We celebrated my aunt's birthday at this restaurant. We had the best experience ever. Special thanks to the manager Moises that was making sure we were having a great time. Food was delicious, every dish was done so perfect that my aunt can't stop talking about it. We will definitely go back to this restaurant, and I highly recommend it.
My friend and I made a last-minute reservation after we tried to go to another brunch spot and were told that they only do Summer brunch. We were not disappointed with Woodward Table. We had mimosas, she crab soup and shared an entree and fries. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our drinks -- waters and mimosas -- weren't left half full. I would go back to Woodward Table and would suggest it to friends.
Fabulous restaurant near Capital in DC location. We went for Brunch before leaving the city. We had the Waffle and Chicken and Parker House rolls with Bloody Marys's and coffee. The best meal for texture, taste, etc. Definetly would highly recommend. The bar area was very nice as well and wished I had come the previous evening. Next time....
I've eaten here before, but never got brunch. Quite the surprise, it was an excellent meal. This isn't to say anything here is ever not good, I had no particular expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. Great food and real portions, I'll definitely be back!
Chicken and waffles was excellent. Coffee was tolerable but not very good. We ordered an appetizer, and when the waiter brought us plates a couple of them were somewhat dirty. It's a minor issue and the waiter happily replaced the plates, but staff should pay more attention to detail (and make sure the dishwasher works well). We sat outside, which was very pleasant.
