They don’t know how to seat their noon rush. Crazy!! Happens every time.
6 of us had dinner here after a late Sunday afternoon concert at a church on G Street. We had a nice large table way in back so had plenty of space. As the restaurant wasn't even half full the noise level was minimal, which was a refreshing change. Hostess was kind and helpful, as was our server. Two of us had the cauliflower steak , something we'd both always wanted to try.
Server was careful to be sure we knew it was "vegan" since he said some have been confused by the "steak" designation. The cauliflower and its accompaniments were delicious. One of our party thought his item (the rockfish) was dry. Everyone else was pleased. The menu is wide ranging, which makes this restaurant a good choice for groups with a variety of needs - sandwiches/burgers, fish/meat/vegetarian entrees, salads - so though some items may be pricey others are not. I would go back if in that neighborhood again...
Although this place is reviewed as not kid friendly, for an early Sunday dinner it was perfect for our family! Brought a 2 and 7year old and Sunday evening, 6pm dinner wasn’t too crowded so we weren’t bothering anyone. Staff was super kid friendly and kid menu items were great (but big!)
Great food great service! I would definitely recommend. Note: The crab melt was surprisingly good!
I had been a couple of times here and always very pleased. This time though our meal was substandard, undercooked, cold. When mentioned to the server he didn't"t even react. That was the last time.
The food was good a, but we were a little packed in and it was freezing.
Service was good and nice. We could hear but it was a bit loud.
I would like to try it for dinner sometime.
Everyone liked the macaroni and cheese and of course the signature parker house rolls.
It got really crowded so I knew the food would be good.
A favorite place to go. Always recommend it to people looking for options in the area.
Had a slight miscommunication about the reservation and whether I'd actually been there or not, but it was resolved very easily and professionally.
Our waiter Asim was fantastic, helpful & personable
Brought a client here, couldn’t have asked for more. Will be back.
salad with the shrimp had only a few pieces of shrimp -- left hungry
The cuisine offered here looked good online so I made a solo reservation. It was also close to my hotel. I started with a dozen oysters on the half shell. These Chesapeake oysters were delicious, meaty and large. I didn’t care much for the peppercorn shallot dip but the normal cocktail sauce was good. They served it with oyster crackers which is cute but not very useful if you wanted to have your oyster on a cracker. My next course was a super greens salad which was full of fruit and nicely dressed. It may have been my favorite dish. Next was the 10oz filet. I ordered medium but it came out more medium well. It wasn’t horribly egregious so I didn’t send it back. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The bernaise sauce was also quite good and complimented the meat nicely. I had a side of asparagus which was the special of the night. Pine nuts, bacon and a caramelized balsamic (?) was delicious. I had to restrain myself from licking the plate! I ended with dessert and a latte. The petit four plate with nine confections was wonderful! There were different tastes that all complimented each other. It also wasn’t too much or too heavy. The latte was fine but for $6 I had expected a bigger cup. The service was good all night. They were quick on the refills and took away dishes quickly once I finished. I’d definitely go again.
We loved our experience. From the delicious food to the awesome waiter (Thanks Steffan!), we will definitely be back. Flatbread pizza and crab cakes a must.
It was amazing! One of my favorite places!
Matre'd very accommodating; allowed us to change to bar seating in lieu of table in restaurant. Portions for cheese plate appetizer were a little skimpy. Service generally attentive and anticipatory
A good place for a quick lunch. Needs to add a few more healthy options, though.
Food was very good, as usual, but service was very slow. It was also really loud.
Nice ambiance, food was very good. This was the second time in a couple of months we've come here. Service was outstanding, our waiter Stephan was exceptional. Very enjoyable evening there with the perfect amount of attention paid to our needs
Very accommodating. I started with a reservation for 10 and changed it twice with a final number of 14. Great portions and food was delicious! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and return the next time I’m in DC. Loved the hush puppies and must try the Parker House rolls!
It was great
This was an incredible dining experience, from start to finish. Delicious, unique food. Friendly and attentive staff who went out of their way to make my husband’s birthday very special. Thanks for creating a very memorable night!
I had learned about Woodward Table from The Food Network and decided to try it out on a visit to D.C. I was NOT disappointed at all. Every item of food we tried (multiple appetizers, entrees and dessert) were perfection. I had the pimento cheese shrimp and grits while my friends had steaks with varying side dishes. We shared all the items. The specialty rolls are a must -- and are quite addictive. Woodward Table is not as crowded as similar places very near the area and I highly recommend it as an alternative to a place with a long waiting list.
As usual, everything was great. My only complaint is that the lighting was very dim.
Everything was great!
Great place for a lovely dinner date. The food was well-portioned, delicious, and not overcooked. After apps and entrees we were stuffed. The service was fast and pleasant, and the atmosphere was nice and warm. I strongly recommend this place for anyone looking to have a nice, fancy dinner. I hope another reason to go comes soon.
Another wonderful meal! Dinner before the theatre. Staff was very pleasant and chef's cuisine is quite lovely! Everything is displayed so attractively and lots of items to choose from on the menu. Delicious meal!!
Great place with delicious food that never disappoints. Good for a nicer work lunch.
Friends and I had dinner at Woodward Table before seeing a show at National Theater. I got there early and let the hostess know we would be in a bit of a hurry and she told me not to worry. She was right! Even though part of our party was late, they seated us at a great table, our waiter was excellent - noted our need to make the show and was attentive but we never felt rushed. The service is incredible.
The good is great too! I had the rainbow trout - minus the bacon b/c I don't eat pork - and it was delicious. One of my friends tried the burger and raved about it. Some other friends had salads and flatbreads (mushroom and brocollini). Everyone was very happy with their meal.
Plus, you can actually hear the conversation at the table. This place is a gem and I highly recommend. In fact, I am going back tonight for Happy Hour!
Our first visit, and glad for the reservation since the place was very busy. I was particularly pleased with our table near the window out onto 15th st., but most of the tables looked good except for the ones by the door that were not being seated so far as I could see. Service was tops, food was of the comfort variety, but with a nice twist. My fried chops were not too dry, a danger with this style of cooking pork, and my partner's stuffed trout was perfection. I saw a number of tempting beers but as this was a lunch, I try to behave - but it was hard to resist!
We love this restaurant and will plan to return again. There was no indication on the website that they wouldn't have their regular menu due to the Super Bowl, and the service wasn't as good as usual. However, we still enjoyed our dinner and wine and will return when we are in DC.
Excellent service at Bar and Table.
We told the waitress that we were in a hurry because we had theatre tickets and she had our meals to us really fast. We loved the oysters on the half shell, trout, tuna, and Parker House rolls.
Food quality was really excellent. Service was attentive and gave good guidance on choices. Loved cheese plate, crab cakes, Pork shank. Best house salad anywhere.
I visited during Restaurant Week where you pretty much had your choice of selecting off all of their regular menu--only one or two upcharges. I found that welcoming and it enabled me to try different dishes at a fairly reasonable price point. The restaurant is spacious and was relatively quiet on a Sunday evening.
Outstanding Restaurant week brunch. The restaurant allows picks of appetizer and entree from normal menu. The peanut soup was great. The southern fried chicken over waffle with bacon was unique and delicious. Wife's mussels appetizer served the largest meaty mussels we've seen in the DC area. Shrimp and grits entree was delicious.
Our server, Steffen, did an outstanding job helping us pick menu items, keeping us informed of the status of the kitchen preps, etc. Well done to him on a busy Sunday morning.
we went during restaurant week brunch and were very disappointed that everyones food arrived cold. seems that this was another restaurant that let the quality suffer during restaurant week! Appetizer and desert were great but the main course was terrible.
Our table started out very chilly like cooler than it was outside. I think they were cooling down the adjacent group space because as the group arrived our space warmed. The staff also seemed occupied with the group since it took a while to see a waiter and then get our drinks. appetizers came out quickly but then entrees delayed. Not usually a problem but we were missing the opening act of a music show. Dinners were ok but over salted and not hot. We have eaten here before and had really good food so although I was disappointed, I will try again.
It was my first time in DC and my first time in this restaurant. I went there for restaurant week and I was expecting to have a good experience, service took forever, my food was cold and overall I was just not happy. Honestly I wanted to finish my meal and get out of there.
Its very bad when you see the mimosas being mixed up ahead of time in a big container on the bar. It made me wonder what else was done on the cheap. Bad value if you drink mimosas
Great menu selections. Very generous during Restaurant Week
Even during Restaurant Week this place feels overpriced. We had fish entree that was pretty much just the skin. The pole appetizer was good and the dessert was very sweet. A friend had the Kentucky Hot sandwich which looked sloppy...oh and there was a 25 min wait between appetizer and entree...
