My friend and I went to WT for restaurant week brunch after I'd heard rave reviews from colleagues. I was pretty disappointed from the start. We were seated at a booth that was damaged and taped up with black duct tape (I noticed other booths were also beat up). Our server was clearly hung over (maybe still drunk) and could barely form a sentence. My coffee tasted like soap. The waiter brought a fresh cup, which also tasted like soap. We ordered a pastry platter which had a good range of sweet pastries with butter, honey, and jelly. The pastries were good but on the very sweet side. For appetizers I had a fruit parfait (beautiful, delicious, not too sweet, good diversity of fruit) and my friend had fish which he liked. For entrees my friend ordered steak and egg. He loved the purple butter on top of the steak which he said brought out the flavor. I opted for cauliflower steak with grapes, carrots, and grains. The sauce and vegetables were delicious but the cauliflower itself was dry and there wasn't enough sauce to cover it. Desserts were beautiful. Ice cream came on an artistic block of ice, lemon meringue was a vision and the right amount of sour.
All and all, WT is pricey. I think their meat dishes might be worth the money, I'd go elsewhere for vegetation options.
Not my first time at Woodward table but went there after the Women's March19 and it was busy - our order got forgotten or messed up somehow but luckily we were sitting beside the open kitchen and the lady overseeing the movement of food quickly rectified for us - lunch was Souther 24 hour salad (no bacon) and I think the house salad with a side of smashed fingerling garlicky potatoes - all fine.
Restaurant week provides a great price for normally expensive food. Great value!
Amazing food and service!
Delicious food. A range of options on the menu. Very sophisticated atmosphere. Extremely attentive staff in-service.
I went there for restaurant week and had a nice dining experience. The food was excellent, including the plating. I dined with two of my friends. We all ordered different dishes, and everyone thought the food was excellent. Service was friendly but slow, so that was the only downside. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.
Waiter was AWESOME!
Some very loud Republicans at the bar!
There were not enough options on the menu. The drink menu as well was not impressive.
Lovely - Delicious - Good Service - Fairly Priced
It was a horrible experience. Terrible service and terrible food.
Fabulous dining experience. Service was great. Food was next level. Chef John Is amazing!
The fried chicken had to be sent back as it seemed to be a week old. Both my husband and son ordered it and it came to the table looking like a fried Cornish hen. The Mac and cheese sides were amazing. The bench seat I sat on was taped with duct tape. My salad and my daughter’s pizza were good.
Trying to find something good, but casual while walking around DC. Ended up at Woodward Table, because the menu on Open Table listed pizza. IT IS NOT A PIZZA PLACE, even though their pizza was delicious and generous. I felt like we were a nuisance for just ordering pizza... By the first waiter that was helping us. A second server took over and was much more friendly and welcoming.
Everything was excellent! The food was fabulous and the service attentive!
Service was totally sub par. Would not go back. Food was only just ok
Order the Parker House rolls. The fish dishes are especially delicious. I would order the trout with crab and the caraway encrusted salmon again.
Went for brunch and it’s such a good value! The service is great and it’s one of DC’s hidden gems!
The food was excellent, the fried chicken was amazing, and the drink selection was good. Our server was friendly and funny, and we didn't feel rushed to order and eat our meal. The only complaint I would have is the restaurant it dimly lit, but its not a big deal unless you need glasses to read a menu. Other than that, the place was great!!
I've passed by several times and I had no idea it would be so nice. The food was great. The service was wonderful and so very helpful and attentive. I have already recommended this spot to friends telling them to be sure to put it on their list to experience in 2019.
Excellent food and service.
Office Holiday Luncheon
We had show tickets and the wait staff went out of their way to ensure we left on right, but we're not rushed. The steak tartar was excellent, as was the Woodward salad. Our main course, the fried chicken and trout, were out of this world. We will absolutely be going back to this wonderful place. Our table was in a quiet room behind the bar area. Tables in the bar area, which we visited before dinner, were in the loud zone. Just a caution that conversation in those tables will be challenging.
We had a great time! Fabulous food and excellent service!
Asked two questions about menu items (one about sourcing, one about description of salad) server didn't know the answer to either, and didn't offer to find out.
Excellent food and service. My go-to place for meeting friends for lunch.
We went in to celebrate our anniversary and ended up at five guys after because the food was underwhelming and lacked taste. Staff was very pleasant but the food was not as good as others made it out to be. We were expecting hot food prepared before it was sent out to us and what we received was reheated, warm fried chicken that you could see sitting on a rack in the kitchen with not that amazing Macaroni and cheese, decent collard greens, and a small muffin corn bread. We ordered the bread for the appetizer and it was their saving grace. It was hot and delicious. Unfortunately once the bread got to the table, our food was immediately there after. It felt like a place where they push you through to get the most customers in and out of the restaurant. I would recommend going somewhere else.
Always a great dining experience. Service is efficient and quick, the host team is always professional and responsive.
Food did not come for 45 minutes. And when we asked waiter and then manager neither really did anything. Finally good after an hour.
Best brunch ive ever had. Soup was amazing, service was fast would 10/10 return.
Woodward Table was 'simply the best' (cue Tina Turner voice). Our waitress was top notch and kept our bottomless drinks flowing throughout our whole stay. There were 7 of us who dined for brunch and most of us had the brunch special which included bottomless with an entree + appetizer or dessert. Super good deal and the food was very premium. Our occasion was just a girls brunch but I definitely recommend for any casual get-together/ occasion. They nailed it, and we can't wait to go back.
I’ve been here before for dinner and have always had a good experience. However, for brunch things seemed a little off. We had pretty bad service, had to wait forever for our food even though it wasn’t crowded and they forgot to bring one of our dishes. Our waiter was very inattentive and we had trouble tracking her down when we were ready to leave.
A very nice brunch spot with good southern -tinged food, attentive service and relatively quiet, spacious ambiance
Had brunch - fantastic again! The bottomless mimosa option - entree with a starter or dessert AND bottomless mimosa was a great deal! We had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and avocado. We love this dish!!
We went for family Thanksgiving dinner and everything was delicious!
All around it was a very nice Thanksgiving experience.
Customer service was very poor and slow. For party of 10 took for ever to get everyone’s plates the same time. Even some of the items on the menu were not available.
Food was pretty good but experience took that away.
The quality of the ingredients is lacking significantly for a restaurant of this type. Not even close to what you are paying for. Server disappeared and it took more than 40 min to get our food. It wasn’t even busy at that point.
Disappointing Thanksgiving dinner. Left the restaurant not satisfied and spent almost a $100 for two people.
