Definitely going again, extremely pleasant experience.
We really enjoyed the Korean Sticky Rib appetizer. I had the $10 Tuesday burger deal and the drink of the day. Enjoyed both. My husband had the bbq combo platter. He liked the chicken the best!
We enjoyed our meal very much. The Korean ribs were especially good. Our server was very personable, and the bartender makes a very nice amaretto sour.
Great neighborhood place with fun and tasty food.
1. Try the BBQ sampler appetizer- great way to share and taste the specialty of the house.
2. Order an extra cornbread. Add a little honey and butter and you won't need dessert.
3. The cocktails are delicious. It's worth trying the house specialties.
4. The wait staff are knowledgeable and personable.
The first time I came I had a coupon. Have been back several times since (without coupon) and brought friends. Look forward to my next visit.
It was great have to plan to go again
Simply amazing. We love this hidden gem! The GM was engaging and clearly involved with the entire experience guests receive at WT. The prime rib was out of this world!
The food was delicious and our server Richard was wonderful. Extra bonus we came on $1 rib night! We will definitely return.
The place was totally clean the bathrooms the kitchen area that service area was totally clean and orderly everybody was super nice it just was a lot of money for the price of food, which was mediocre at best.
I had the eggs Benedict, it was very lemony and not impressive, the side of potatoes were the best part of the dish. my friend had the caprese frittata which was explained as having mozzarella, basil, and Roma tomato’s, they were diced tomato’s that looked like they were from a can on a flat round open faced omelet, we also all shared a pancake with peaches, it was over cooked with a slight burned taste to it.
I was kind of wanting more tavern type-ish food and atmosphere - I guess that’s because of the name of the place, it really is more of a diner
And no parking, I won’t go back
I had read the reviews and expected a lot better. The food was okay but certainly not top end. The wine list was very lacking which in California is terrible. All that said service was excellent.
Amazing service! They exceeded my expectations. The staff is very warm, kind, and polite. It's been years since I've had this kind of customer service. Woodlake Tavern is a hidden gem. You won't be disappointed.
A wonderful place with excellent food. Service was quick and amazing.
The gentleman running the place kindly opened a few minutes early when he saw us waiting outside. He also spoke with us a long time about the restaurant and the area.
I highly recommend Woodlake Tavern.
Food too salty. The waiter was very nice but overall the food was very salty.
A member of my party had a walker yet we were taken to the farthest table on the patio passing 4emptt tables ??? We ordered 2 egg breakfast and eggs &polenta yet our food took 25minutes to arrive???
Wonderful Sunday breakfast with the family. The restaurant is clean and well appointed. We sat on the patio. The food, beverages and service were all excellent. We will definitely return. Definitely start with the beignets. Coffee was delicious. We tried the cheese burger, has and frittata.
My husband and I went at 4 for an early dinner, but learned that dinner wasn't served until 5:30, so we ordered from the happy hour menu. We both had hamburgers, which were delicious. There is a nice outdoor patio, but we decided it was too warm so sat inside. I would like to return to have dinner on the patio.
The staff is very friendly and upbeat, the food is very flavorful and there a hip vibe about the place, we'll be back.
Great low key place with a laid back vibe. Food is on the pricier side but everything was fresh and tasty. Ordered the bucatini and carnivore appetizer with a side of tallow fries. The pasta was really delicious and all the different flavors really complimented each other nicely. My drinks were refilled promptly and staff was so friendly and chill. After our meal we sat on the outdoor sofa and ordered some dessert. The churros were the only part that wasnt up to par with the other food I probably wouldn't order those again. Can't wait to go back for brunch.
The food was really good. The menu was very diverse but they did everything really well. I ordered the barbecue combo plate. The ribs are probably the best I’ve had. This place should be on everyone’s list.
Great happy hour lovely food and great service. The grilled chicken is a must have and they make a great margarita.
Food was excellent, and the portions were ample. Cocktails were outstanding and corkage fee very reasonable. We could not have asked for better service. GM and waitress were both friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Drinks, appetizers, entrees and bill all came to us in perfect timing. Not too fast, not too slow. Plan on returning soon and bringing friends.
I went with my sister for an early dinner on a Friday evening. We found the service to be very friendly and competent. The food was excellent and inspired.
The tables and seating were not too crowded, but it has the feel more of a fast food place, which it is not.
The server was attentive and friendly, we felt like valued customers the entire time.
I had smoked chicken thigh and leg with a nice sauce, salad with a tart, tasty dressing and a corn cake. The salad included fresh roasted corn cut off the cob and the corn cake was not starchy at all (poblano spoon bread was it's name on the menu) - quite wonderful. I don't eat chicken skin, but I could see that it had been cooked just right for those who do.
My sister had a grilled prawn caesar salad and really enjoyed it.
My sangria was tasty, though I couldn't detect the alcohol in it.
We finished with their home made churros which came with two sauces for dipping - a heavenly dulce de leche and a semisweet chocolate. Delicious.
I would go back next time I am in Sacramento.
We always receive excellent service here. The food is delicious. This is our weekly date night spot!
My daughter, her husband and my young grandson were visiting from out of town. We went for the Sunday brunch, and I'm so glad we did! The enclosed patio was lovely, the food was delicious and served in surprisingly generous portions. The bottomless Mimosas were an extra treat. The manager was friendly and engaging, as was the entire wait staff. Their service was impeccable. The atmosphere was relaxed so we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal and lively conversation. I will definitely go back as often as I can and recommend the Woodlake Tavern to all my friends.
We had a lovely, relaxed dining experience on the patio. Starters were delish, finally had the warm potato salad (fabulous) and a caprese salad which was such a nice taste of summer. Shrimp and grits for my meal was beyond awesome! My friends' tavern fries and cordon bleu sandwich were also excellent. Desserts (summer cheesecake with peaches & berries, and banana ice cream pie) were heavenly. Definitely a favorite go - to for a yummy meal!
Ambience, setting, comfort
Excellent, creative comfort food with a twist. Service was wonderful. It was a beautiful day on the patio and we greatly enjoyed our Sunday Brunch.
What a delightful evening! We ate on the patio under the huge oak tree. All four of us enjoyed our dinners, and if it hadn't been closing time we could have happily lingered for another hour or so in the perfect outdoor environment. The service was exceptional, including able assistance in choosing a wine.
When I made our reservation I requested a quiet table so we could have conversation; the restaurant came through, reserving a table for us with that in mind. Much appreciated! All four of us decided we would let our friends know about Woodlake Tavern--delicious food, delightful al fresco environment, and excellent service. Thank you, Woodlake.
Shrimp and grits, oxtail croquettes and the patio was wonderful, comforting and refined! The smoked chicken was very good too. The combo platter offered great options but, the only feedback is that the brisket was bland and disappointing. Also, a mild option should be offered for the hot link. Otherwise, the service was great and the ambience was perfect. Considering renting this place for my 40th birthday because they are adding a roof to the patio for events during the colder seasons. Definite win for us!
Amazing staff and food. Ambience was spectacular. My girlfriend and i have been here a few time and every time it's fantastic.
Great meal with excellent service. Brought a business associate to dinner with my wife. It was his first time there, and he really enjoyed the experience. Joe, Head chef, came out and greeted us; classy move. Atiq, GM, made sure we were taken care of.
This is a must try place,
Excellent service and food!
We come here a lot, most often on Sundays for brunch and live music. The food and atmosphere is always great! Especially if you sit outside. Even our kids love it!
Great Father's Day brunch! Loved the food and music on the patio was wonderful! Definitely will return!
Simple menu but REALLY good! Great staff, chill outside! Must go!
My wife and I have made Woodlake Tavern our weekly date night location! We specifically go on $10 burger Tuesdays. The service is always great, the food is delicious, and the establishment is clean and inviting. We look forward to going back every week!
The worst food I have ever had in my life... the brisket was cold, tough, and dry. The ribs were chewey, hard, and tough... the mac and cheese were watered down mush... I would not ever eat from that kitchen again nor would I recommend anyone else to go through that. They need to revamp the menu and get a decent cook in there... two thumbs down.
Wonderful evening. Started with the amazing Korean sticky ribs. Loved the shrimp and grits. Not as crazy about the bavette steak, which was too rare for my husband (he ordered medium rare and it was very rare) so he took my shrimp and grits and I got to eat the not very tender, slightly stringy meat. Also, the chick pea product accompanying it was quite bland and heavy. The shrimp and grits, by contrast, was a masterpiece of unadulterated yumminess. Our table of four ordered two desserts, which were beautiful and disappeared quickly, but I did not partake.
First time here for brunch and will definitely be back!!!! The food was AMAZING and our server was outstanding!!!
Lovely meal great service and wonderful ambiance!!
