   We were introduced to this wonderful restaurant and made the journey across town having made an early dinner booking via Open Table. Ample parking close by and for train commuters, it's around the corner from Glen Iris Station. We were warmly greeted by staff and chose to sit in the inner section (rather than in the brighter lit front area) as it had the attraction of the cushioned bunk seats and a little more privacy. A great selection on the menu and very selective & well priced wine choices . In this aptly named Woodfired Kitchen ( not to be confused with the " woodfired pizza" shops- This is so much more! ) For starters, we indulged in their fabulous gourmet flatbread :"Margharita" - deliciously light, crispy with the right amount of fresh ingredients. We also shared potato croquettes and calamari.. all yummy and perfectly cooked. A great start to our evening... Mains: Ohhhh the slow cooked lamb shoulder was soooo delicious- nothing left on the plate ( 3 serves ordered on our table ) . My husband enjoyed the short ribs - thumbs up. Fish was also ordered and it was perfect.. Generous serving for all dishes. There is still a little "work in progress in the finishing touches inside and out" but do not let that deter you from enjoying the great food. It's new, vibrant and definitely worth a visit.
