1st time here. Wanted to eat outside, but no heaters available. Had to eat inside. A little worried about social distancing, but everything inside was good. Great food.
Can’t wait to go back
I'm a fan of wood fired cooking so when the restaurant opened recently I made a mental note to try it. So we went for dinner last Saturday. I was not sure what to expect because I assumed it was still new. I've subsequently learned that the owners of Pub 83 simply re-envisioned the restaurant. There were 4 of us who ordered a few different dishes.
We were all happy with our food in terms of taste. The portions were fair too, But the sides were almost laughable; about 2 tablespoons of baked beans and the same small amount of coleslaw. My wife ordered a baked potato which didn't arrive till she was almost finished with her brisket. Another diner ordered roasted potatoes but the plate came with rice. She asked the server to please bring her correct order which she did.
So my review is downgraded on the less than stellar service from our server and the small size of the side dishes. I hope the owners figure it out and that this iteration of the restaurant survives.
Reservations were running 20-30 behind to get a table, the kitchen was horribly backed up and my meal (herb roasted chicken) arrived like warm. Wondering how long this new ownership has been in place and what their restaurant experience is. They were completely confused on how to seat people. It was a circus.
The food was way too salty.....the kitchen and bar were slow.
They have something very promising with the addition of smoked bbq meats to their menu. We tried the bbq platter to sample each. Very moist, tender and good smoky flavor. I really hope this version of the place catches on, so I'll have a go-to place when I need a good brisket sandwich.
Attentive wait staff. Food was disappointing- dry mashed potatoes, greasy battered fish, and limp cooked carrots. We were surprised the food was not good, as the restaurant looked nice and there was a decent crowd that night.
Overall a very good experience.
