Went there for Valentine’s Day. We’ve experienced really bad service at otherwise great places on Valentine’s Day because of the overwhelming people that go out. Woodbines had great service and great food and we were seated and served all in good time, despite being super busy. Food was good - we had the classic burgers, tomato soup and braised rib spring rolls... Guinness was fresh and the Chloe red wine option was decent. Will definitely return!
Excellent Valentine’s Day and made me and my girlfriend felt so much love!!! Wonderful place.
So festive for the holidays! Service was friendly and the perfect pace. Vibe is cozy and inviting. And the buff chicken wrap was delicious!
Good food. The menu has a nice selection of upscale bar good. The staff is very pleasant. It’s comfortable and they don’t rush you even if crowded
Nice, friendly atmosphere, though a bit noisy when there is a large group or bar crowd. Food is very good, especially the salads & inventive small plates. Service is attentive & helpful. Highly recommend for all ages.
Great service and wonderful meal. Love the truffle fries and my friend had the short rib grilled cheese which she said was amazing. Nice beer and cocktail selection also. Will definitely be back.
The service was good and the food was ok, but they were not helpful at all with our stroller even though the place was empty save for two other tables throughout the time we were there. I had mentioned the stroller in my notes while making the reservation too. The male waiter told us that there was no space for it in the dining room other than next to the one table by the window which was under direct sunlight and was quite hot. We ended up sitting there and sweating the whole time. I would understand if the place was packed or would fill up by reservations but it did not, at all.
The meal was excellent, felt like it was made with love. Ambience was very relaxing.
Staff was friendly and attentive. Brunch menu had a lot of great options and the mimosa flight was delicious! Food came out promptly and was delicious even though it was super busy. Desserts were also great! Highly recommend!
This is a great neighborhood bar! Came here for brunch with friends. Overall pretty good experience but our food didn’t all come out together (may have been forgotten about). No biggie...we still had a great time and would come back.
Great place to meet for lunch or evening drinks. Varied menu and very tasty food. I enjoyed both my cocktail and my glass of wine. Prices reasonable. Friendly service.
The food was just okay and really pricey
the drinks was over priced and no good!
Won't go there again
We waited 40 minutes just for the appetizers which arrived cold. Service was slow and the kitchen was not able to deliver quality food after the long wait.
Went for an easy no fuss NYE night out at 10:30 and this was the perfect spot. Just the right amount of action with a slightly more mature crowd compared to your average bar. Service was impressive as well considering the holiday. We ordered 3 courses with drinks at the high top tables which all came perfectly timed. Passed out hats, crowns, horn blowers and complimentary champagne at midnight!
Overall great; service was a tad slow; they were apologetic! Would revisit
We had a cute day date for brunch.
Make sure you make a reservation as this place fills up quickly during prime brunch, lunch and dinner times.
The different Brunch Menu choices I’d come back to Woodbines for, Mimosas Delish:) Good prices Loved location - 5 min walk to “The City” view.
Nice small spot to have dinner with friends or a beer at the bar. Good Guinness. We’ll be back.
I went to Woodbines with a friend for brunch and it was great. We both had the breakfast burrito, which was very good. I didn't love the hashbrowns so I'd order fries next time but the salad was very nice. The best part of brunch is that their cocktails are $8 for your first but then only $4 for each one after. I think we had 5 over many hours! Our waitress was awesome and really helped us to enjoy ourselves. I will definitely be back.
The food was mediocre at best but they did have an entire GF menu which was appreciated. However, if you're celiac, this isn't the place for you. Although they have an extensive GF menu, the same fryer is used for all items, GF and regular, alike.
Disappointed with the service. The waitress was not with it and even when burger was over cooked she said “next time I’ll tell them to cook it less” ??? What? Also...tell people it’s ruby red grapefruit juice your serving and not real grapefruit juice.
Was told we needed reservations but there was no one there. Service was slow even with only 4 customers- 2 people at the bar and myself and a friend. They’re were 3 people working out front. Asked for napkins and it felt like I did something wrong. A total of 14 customers were there off and on while I was there and no one got waited on quickly. Food was amazing. Atmosphere nice. Just poor service.
Food was outstanding, comfort level high, drinks first rate
Nice brunch! Amazing Bloody Mary!
We went for my girlfriend's birthday and it was probably the worst service I've had in NYC. It seemed like the waitress had never worked before, and didn't understand simple things like a salted rim on a margarita. She then gave me the wrong check for our table, less than our bill should have been, and I specifically got up and asked if it was right, she said it was. As I was leaving, the manager confronted me and said that I owed more money. They then ran my card again, and refunded me the other table's bill, but didn't offer to make it up in any way. Will most likely never go back.
Food wasn’t wildly creative but it was very good, well prepared and reasonably priced. Would have liked a bigger choice of vegetarian items. Our server was great- welcoming, friendly and attentive. The only negative was the amount of time it took for the food to come out of the kitchen. The bottom line is that we are looking forward to going back.
Since I'm not very familiar with LIC, I did a quick search for restaurants in the area and Woodbines came up. We were celebrating one of our friend's birthday and they were nice enough to give us dessert to share on the house. The server was friendly and attentive. The food was hefty and absolutely delish! We ended up informally adding to our group toward the end of lunch and the staff was nice enough to not bother us about it. If I find myself in LIC again, I'll definitely keep this place in mind and go back.
