Wood Ash Rye
Love the food here. The model, though, of all of the food coming out at once/when ready is less than desirable, so know going in to order your items one or two at a time, otherwise you can end up with a table full of food and it feels overwhelming! Also, when there are only two of you, some of the portions are a lot.
My sisters and I ate at the Wood Ash Rye restaurant twice during our stay in Springdale it was that good. We did say we would have loved to have tried everything on the menu. We had the turkey sandwich, the pappardelle and the salmon takara plus the brownie with coconut ice cream our second time around....everything was delicious. You can't go wrong with what you order.
Very enjoyable meal. Food was very good. Service was inconsistent, as it seems like they were training a lot of new staff. Definitely recommend and we will return on our next visit to St George in a couple of months.
Have heard such good things about W.A.R. and it was great. Very attentive service and the food was delicious. Biscuits are too die for. We ate early so not a lot of people before the dinner rush and was impressed that all the employees kept busy with prep & cleaning. No standing around chatting. Will def be back!
Food was delicious! Service was alright
Food was great. Service was poor. Seemed under staffed. Took 20 minutes to get our drink order, and my husband never got his juice which he asked for twice.
Some portions seemed small, others huge, pasta a tad salty but overall very well put-together flavors
Love it and the Pork Belly and watermelon was amazing, but everything was fabulous.
Really enjoyed our dinner. Everything we ordered was excellent.
Get the biscuits. Every single time. We love W.A.R., but wish they would switch up their menu more often. You usually get good service. Normally dining is around 2 hours. This time we did have to send a very over cooked steak back. We will be back when the menu changes for sure!
Great food, good atmosphere, have been several time and will keep going back.
Birthday for myself and my Father. We share the same birthday and we received two free deserts for our Birthday dinner here. I thought that was above and beyond! Excellent service and delicious fresh food. We shared the entrees & small plates. So my only complaint would be a bigger plate & more serving utensils! Delicious...we’ll be back.
Food quality was excellent and service was great.
Food comes out as it done and shareable. You can ask for more traditional style if you like but this worked out really well sharing as it arrived
Amazing restaurant in the hotel lobby. My wife & I are big fans of Autograph Collection hotels and this restaurant lived up to our expectations. Great decor and style. Several items to choice from on the menu. The chicken in a biscuit was unreal!
The best breakfast I have had in a very long time. Delicious!
The food was very tasty. We enjoyed the lamb Korea with hummus and Naan, and the four assorted tacos. Original flavors. Service to get second round of wine was slow. The marble topped tables were covered in water ring stains. We were assured the tables were clean even tho they didn't look it.
Service was great but it took so long to make the bread pudding we finally left without it. If you order dessert plan an extra 20 mins for that which we didn't have that time.
The perfect birthday brunch!!
As always, the food is excellent, service is impeccable. It was way too hot in the restaurant to enjoy our meal, by the time we departed we felt like we had been sitting in a sauna 🥵🔥
A pleasant ambience, professional service, and really spectacular food. I was particularly taken with the pork bellies and watermelon, a combination I never would have thought of, but one they carried off masterfully.
Great great great place came in on our first day of a 12 day road trip and had to come back on our last day just passing thru … was wonderful
Had to spend $18 to valet. Messed up our order. Flies in them restaurant. The biscuits were good though.
Good and we’re great and the hotel was wonderful
Great restaurant with a small menu that changes often. Everything we've tried here has been excellent.
First chance to try this place out. The service was great the food was better the whole night was really very good
I can’t talk enough about how much I love this restaurant! The service is amazing, the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD and they just add all the little details that make the experience so beautiful! I love this place! You can’t go wrong with ANY MENU ITEMS!
Lighting WAAAAAAY too bright
Kitchen / waitstaff WAAAAAY too loud
Service good until kicking us out 1 hr before closing
All stars would be 5 stars if not for above issues
Still a new restaurant so time and room for improvement
Very interesting and dining concept of family sharing. That should be explained more on their menu. The soup was amazing never had a better turkey and wild rice soup
Way too pricey for the food you get. Steaks were not cooked as ordered. Never got a refill on drinks, including water. I don’t have a problem paying top dollar for top quality/service, and this was a complete let down.
The waiter took our order and then maybe checked on us once the hour we were there. No refill on beverages including water. Food is ok but service was lacking. Also when you have a reservation you should be seated before those that don’t.
Our second time at WAR..first time was at the bar but we chose the dining room this time...the waiter was nice but the front house staff lacked the training to complement the dining experience as well as the food. We started with two apps...the house bread with butter and jam and the mushrooms-the bread was delivered sans butter and jam...toast in a bowl. We needed to ask about the butter/jam and glad we did, the jam was excellent! We then ordered the grilled Caesar salad to share and the pappardelle pasta and pork chop. This is where the staff inexperience resounded...the pasta was the first to arrive, followed by the grillled Caesar almost ten minutes later and ultimately the pork chop over 20 minutes after the pasta. While the timing of placing the order was completely mismanaged the food has always been enjoyable. The clear favorite (jam aside) was the pappardelle..the ragu of tomato, mushroom and beef tasted like it had been on the stove for hours and was perfect withthe home made pasta..wonderful dish! The grilled salad would have been perfect had there been tableside cracked black pepper and fresh parmesan...unfortunately the dish fell just short. The pork chop was OK...while it was cooked well it lacked seasoning and the peaches in the stone fruit salad also lacked taste. I ordered an espresso after dinner which arrived warm at best without lemon, sugar nor spoon. Again---WAR has the capacity to be a wonderful experience...the bar side dinner experience certainly was, but with some proper training from the back of the house on how the front staff can better compliment the wonderful dishes coming from the kitchen this restaurant does have the capacity to provide an amazing dining experience.
4 of us had a reservation last night and were promptly seated without a wait. 👍
The server was pleasant and friendly and explained that the food comes out to the table “as ready” and they recommended eating and sharing “family style”. The server also mentioned that they were recently the recipient of an award for fine dining.
The restaurant and environment are great and definitely a significant improvement for most other dining locations in southern Utah. (That’s from outward appearance only)
So far so good…
The food took a long time to come out and to their promise each one of our four entrees arrived at different times. The first two came out after about a 15 min wait and the final entree (mine. Steak and Frites) came out a full 45 minutes after the first.
Yes we are having labor shortages and yes a new level of patience is expected by consumers, diners and customers, but this made for an awkward dining experience that seemed very disjointed.
The kitchen does not appear to be managed well and creating a new “style” of eating and serving “as ready” seemed to be more a coverup for a poorly managed kitchen than a new trend in dining.
Super impressed! We came with 2 other couples and did the family style dining. The food was excellent, service was amazing, and we would definitely come back again.
Omg… we come here a few times a month and I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing it is! The Local Salad is our absolute fav with biscuits of course! They had a special last night with chicken (Monterey something with the most amazing flavors ever!) that we are told is going to be a permanent fixture on the menu!! BEST. NEWS. EVER. We love it here and will always have this as our favorite restaurant! As long as the service stays INCREDIBLE!!
It was outstanding! Food was amazing!
Great food and great staff.
The food is always excellent but it is pricy. The service was good but not to the level
Wouldn’t expect coffee mate coffee creamer at a place like this. Asked if the orange juice was fresh squeezed, we were told yes. It most definitely was NOT. Overall nothing was good enough to bring us back.
Great food, super fresh quality! The staff was super friendly as well.
Ambience somewhat strange - bright lights and not very cozy. Service pretty slow. BUT absolutely delicious and creative food. After a rough start, ended well. Will return!
