I ordered the salmon dish and it was prepared perfectly. Staff was very friendly as well.
The brunch food is VERY over-priced. The music was way too loud. We will not be going here again.
First time here. Found the place on open table as we are from out of town here on vacation. Food, service, and ambiance were good. What was disappointing was that when I made the reservation we specifically included that it was a special occasion. But no mention of my daughter’s birthday at all. We’ve gone to other restaurants where they have made her feel very special which is always appreciated.
Our waitress Katie (from Alabama) made the whole dining experience a pleasure! She was upbeat and on top of things. Offered great suggestions on food and drink picks too! Will definitely come back to dine here again!
loved our pretheatre dinner. All food was excellent, service wonderful. overall great experience, highly recommend
The service, food and ambiance were perfect. So pleased al around.
Beautiful space for dinner before a show. Don’t let them try to seat you upstairs - whole other vibe, like the kids table. Brussels were great!
Scheduled a ladies night out, and I liked the atmosphere inside, I really booked it for the outdoor seating, but I’m sure with the rain everything is wet -so no problem. Loved the staff, our server was nice and she was knowledgeable about the food, but overall I was disappointed in our experience here. They were out of a good majority of things we wanted to try, and the “sharable” are very small. 1 shareable is a meal for 1, not big enough for 2 people to pick at -let alone 6 hangry women. The servings are small and overpriced, I’m all for quality eats, but the serving sizes were disappointing. Then, when asked to make accommodations to certain foods, they were unable to because the food is premade. There’s a hefty price tag for premade food. Even with everything all the food that came out it just nothing to really write home about. We had 2 orders of Brussels sprouts, buttermac, salmon (but we didn’t have the salmon with all the sides because they were out), chicken and waffles, fry pie, calamari, (they were out of the tuna tartar), (there was no chef special), (they weren’t serving the oysters or scallops), we had the Nutella bombshell which was the size of a condiment serving and it tasted like it had been out for a couple days (cake was dry).
Excellent service, friendly environment & most of all amazing people!!
My wife and I were here before seeing a play at the Pantages. Very convenient parking structure is across the street too. It was raining so there was nobody outside but the seating area looks nice. Service was good but when you order more than one thing, they bring out the food as soon as it's ready...thus you end up with food coming to the table in stages. Kinda funky... Food was good. We're not big on fish and there's a good deal of that on the menu so our choices were limited. Still, nice place!
Horrible, menu to small, hurt my teeth, the broiche bread was hard as a rock, eggs was runny.
At first, I choose this location because if the convenience of it being in front of Pantages. Parking was easy since you can valet at the W hotel. We had resrrvations for 6:30, so when we got there, we got seated right away. It was a lovely evening in theri patio area. Old classic movies were projected on a building, so you can watch and lounge. Our server was a young lady, who was helpful and attentive. There were 5 of us and she recommended that we get 2 appetizers and 3 main. It was a good size serving. Every dish came out flavorful and different. The tuna tartare was paired with the crispy chip and together, it was so good we ordered another. The next was mac and cheese, it was an adult flavored mac and cheese. A little spicy and nutty flavor. Next was the lamb burger, not ao fond of lamb but my friend (a lamb-lover) loved it. Then the Salmon, I do not usually eat the skin of the salmon but with this, it was crisp and crunchy, paired with a horseradish flavored mashed potato!! I loved it. The manager even gave us complimentary wine for birthday celebration. For sure, if I am in the area, I will stop by to grab a bite!
We selected the restaurant for pre-theatre dining as it is across the street from Pantages. It was an excellent experience. They seated us exactly at the time of our reservation, the service was excellent, food was delicious and arrived quickly, great menu selection, and relaxed atmosphere.
Our bartender Bret was wonderful. Enjoyed the salmon and table side bread!!!
I have never written a negative review and quite possibly this one won't get posted. If it does, I will share my experience. Other than the staff being very friendly and accommodating, the food was awful. I can't believe that other reviewers gave it four stars. For $26.00 you get at the most a 2 oz piece of salmon and the same goes for the sea bass for $28.00. It's basically about three, four forkfuls at the most. The salmon was swimming in some kind of horseradish mash that was like eating the dead sea it was so salty. The portions was so small that we decided to get dessert hoping that it would fill us up. We ordered the Nutella bombshell. It was stale chocolate cake topped with frozen tasteless nutella mousse stuffed in a shot size glass for $12.00. It wasn't even worth $2.00 Be warned! If you chose to go there, be prepared for a large check and walking out hungry. There are really great restaurants in LA. This is one of the worst restaurants I have eaten in and I have lived in LA for 26 years. Again, the one positive thing was the friendly and accommodating manager.
This occasion was a date night and we were not disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Service was mediocre and the food was cold. I'm not sure how the middle of the chicken breast on the chicken and waffles was cooked but ice cold unless it was frozen first. Also, the website did not indicate that they were only serving brunch all day. Very disappointed overall.
Bad expensive. Wine expensive
Very enjoyable! Even my eight year old son enjoyed himself. He wants to try the Mac n cheese the next time we go!
Great location for people getting together before a Pantages show. Great service and ambiance, but food is a bit pricey and flavors lackluster. Definitely smaller portions, so either you break the bank to fill up or just know that ahead of time. Will be back for drinks, probably and get food elsewhere.
Our server, Damian, was great! One of the orders took too long to come out. He gave us a free dessert but we would have rather had the food come in right away. Five of us ordered bottomless mimosas and they just left a pitcher for us to refill. Great idea! They eventually ran out of orange juice after the 2nd pitcher -- odd. We had to switch to pineapple mimosas which turned out to be very good, too. Lucky! Our favorite dessert was the butterscotch ice cream but all the dessert servings were super small and they were $8-$10 each. The apple pie one was too greasy. The food was not all good. Chicken and waffles was probably the best one of what we ordered. I was disappointed with the pastrami Benedict -- not much flavor with the sauce or the pastrami. I was so looking forward to being impressed but a female chef but it just didn't happen. Some of my friends had been there for dinner and said the menu was much better than brunch.
I was hoping because this was RIGHT ACROSS the street from The Pantages (where I had tickets for a show) it would be a great dinner place for my friends and I...TURNED OUT TO BE AN EXPENSIVE MESS of a night. immediately it was a bad situation because 2 of us ordered coke & Diet Coke, they came FLAT & we were told they wouldn’t fix the co2 (which is needed to make soda bubbley) until after we left because they was an INVOLVED process (HAVING BEEN A WAITRESS FOR YEARS, that should take less than 5 minutes to fix...) also, We were a party of FIVE and we were hungry, but IMMEDIATELY told it was a “sharing” portions restaurant so we tried to order enough but we would’ve been better off just having ordered an ENTREE each...THEY SHOULDNT PUSH SHARING, When all the items are SOOOOOO TINY!! AGAIN, we were a PARTY OF 5 ...we ordered a “side of $8 fries” (the equivalent to a small/med box of McDonald fries) an order of Asparagus (we each got the equivalent of 2 stalks each) an Order of Chicken and waffles (a chicken breast on a waffle that could only be split into 4....So one person ate a 1/4 of a piece of chicken breast, another person ate just a 1/4 of waffle so there would be enough to go around. We also passed around an $18 grilled cheese on white bread (AGAIN CUT INTO ONLY 4 pcs) AND DOES NOT COME WITH A SIDE , and a salmon dish which yielded about one to two ounces TOPS per person....We were SO HUNGRY Still, we tried to order some HOUSEMADE CHIPS after 45 mins and NO CHIPS, we ask and get “uhhhhhh, they should be up soon”. A BASKET OF CHIPS?!? POTATO CHIPS?!? Takes more than 45 mins to make? BE HONEST, YOU FORGOT TO PUT IT IN. JUST A HORRIBLE OVERPRICED DINNER NIGHT...I was EMBARRASSED I EVER RECOMMENDED that place. Sadly, we head to the theatre and saw a SHAKE SHACK 100ft away...WISH WE HAD GONE THERE!!!!!
The overall experience was ok. Food was very bland. Ordered the Arroz Verde Pollo. Rice had a good spice to it but that was about it. Lacked flavor. There was absolutely no salt added to it at all. Chicken was ok. Fries were probably the best part of the meal. Service was ok. For 20% gratuity that’s already predetermined onto your bill, I expected more.
Overall service and food was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. Parking was convenient, used the valet across the street.
We had dinner right before an evening show at the Pantages Theater and it was a great choice. The food was great and there was plenty to choose from We had a table upstairs by the window overlooking Hollywood Boulevard so there was good entertainment value while we ate as well. I would definitely recommend it for a pre-show dinner.
Large tapa-style dishes. Varied and tasty. I appreciate the tip being included. It's the way it should be in this country. Service was excellent. Favorite dishes: lamb burger, spicy nav and cheese, ribs.
Great fresh food and excellent service. They got us in and out in time to see our show. We like the way they add a standard tip into the your bill...easy and fair. We are already planning to return.
Went to wood and vine for a regular night out and the place was essentially empty. Was sat immediatly and the waitress brought us water and asked for drink order. She never came back. There were only two other parties outside besides us. The manager came to talk to the table next to us and proceeded to sit down and talk to them all about how he doesnt believe in tiping and he puts automatic 20% "service fee" on all tables to maintain quality of life for his employees. All this is fine but we sat there for 20mins listening to him talk trying to validate his pretentious life while his waitress stood around enjoying her quality of life and not even returning to our table. Why would she? She already gets 20% automatically so why bother doing her job. She did however re-seat another party near the fire for a $20 tip. We got up and walked out, nobody said a thing. If you want the vapid hollywood experince come here for an over priced evening.
My boyfriend and I ate here for Valentine's day and we absolutely loved it as well as our waitress !
Didnt know that we had to have about $80 meal each.
Katrina, our host shes very nice and accomodating. We just had problem getting parking either valet or in a structure. Maybe its just the occasion (Valentines Day). But we were still accomodated eventhough we’re late. But overall its really nice dining experience. Food was great. Crew were really nice and polite. Will come back.
Fantastic... we had a nice visit with the owner / manager at our table.. great hospitality, great food... especially the Lobster Mac N Cheese!
booked For Valentine’s Day. We were looking for a place to eat before a show across the street at Pantages. We arrived an hour and 20 minutes before the show. The server promptly came to our table, we went ahead and ordered drinks and food all at one time, we wanted to make sure that we were on time to our show and we informed the server that we were going to a show. The first thing I was disappointed about was a set menu, I didn’t see that anywhere on OpenTable and I called in to confirm and was told the regular menu would be used. The set menu was $80 a person. We ordered a bottle of champagne which did not arrive for almost 25 minutes and it was warm, when the gentleman opened it half of it fell on the floor. We sat and we waited and we waited for our food. Of course he was starving. We asked the server that walk by do you know when our food should be here. We are more than 30 minutes in and he says it should be there any moment. Randomly one of our item shows up. Five minutes later the server walks over and says he’s really sorry something happened with the ticket and our order was not actually placed. He said they would be comping a big portion of our check. Finally odds and ends randomly show up and no specific order whatsoever. The meatballs were completely raw inside. We told the server and he said that they are supposed to be raw. I’ve never in my life eaten a meatball with ground beef and pork that was raw. Absolutely disgusting. We received our main course and or dessert at the same time. Rushing to eat to make the show on time. We never got to finish our food before leaving. We received the check they comped one of our $80 meals. Our check was a total $180.The manager never even took the time to walk over and apologized to us for the inconvenience. I will never go to this restaurant again and it’s too bad the decor is beautiful and the regular menu looks really good.
Wonderful atmosphere. The patio has a very New York roof top feel. Selections were fresh and interesting. Try the purple stuff it’s delicious!
Loved the signature cocktails and the food! Perfect dining opportunity before the theater. Four of us split the fries, butter Mac n cheese, chicken and waffles, green salad, and Brussel sprouts. Yum!!! We will be back! I suggest making reservations
Come with my parents for dinner. The waitress is pretty nice and kind. The food itself, should mention that the salmon was really delicious with sauce, so as the sea bass. But it’s sad to say the chicken with green rice is not fit for us.
Above all it was a fantastic meal for us.
We had a terrible dining experience at Wood & Vine last night and will never return. Having been there in the past and liked it we were shocked. They add a 20% gratuity now to all checks now and the service reflects it. Rude waiters & hostess. We changed tables mid dinner and had to move our own plates. Food not worth the bad service.
Food and service was excellent. The food came out quickly and the staff were extremely friendly. Would return.
Trust the reviews. This place is not worth your time or your money. The food is good....but not good enough for the price. Also, there are so many other better places nearby with better food and much better service. We walked in and one of the severs was outside smoking by the front door, fine. He walks by us says hi and then goes and hangs out by the bar and talks to bartender. Five other employees walk by and finally one of them speaks to us, but doesn’t seat us. At last a manager of sorts walks by the other servers, also standing around the bar talking, not waiting to pick up drinks for other tables, just chilling, and awkwardly greets us, starts to take us to our table, then flags another girl down, mind you it was the only girl who was actually working/ waiting on a table, to stop what she was as doing to take us to our table.... I could go on & on but that was the first 8 minutes we were there. We should have left. But we were sooooo hungry. It only got worse from there. You get the picture. Don’t do it. So many excellent restaurants in LA. So many sub-par ones, too, but ALL of them are preferable to this.
Muy agusto el lugar !
