So glad it reopened. We sat outside and it was a wonderful day. Our server didn't rush us.
Made wonderful suggestions. The food was really good. Will be back
We have wanted to try Wood & Vine for sometime, finally I made a reservation. It was fantastic! I love sharing plates, such a great way to eat. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather on the patio. The inside is cozy and will try that next time, next time will be very soon!
Great venue, great service but limited food and family style only. No good dessert options. A little over priced....
Great food, great ambiance. Food service was very good with the exception of our drink order. That was a little slow but the food came out rapidly.
Will definitely use again.
We love Wood and Vine. what a treat to eat here before our show at the Pantages. Our waiter, Damian, was so sweet and attentive he made it a very nice experience. We love Wally and would come back just for his reviews of the shows at Pantages! he made the visit worth it AGAIN! and this time, super unexpected treat, Wally brought out the executive chef to our table to meet her. Chefs are like celebrities to me so this was super special. We will always come back, we've never had a bad or even so-so experience, it's always top notch! Thank you Wood and Vine for another wonderful pre-theater dinner!
Attention to details
All the food came out at once. It would be nice if it was staggered. Like salad first and then one hot dish at a time. We sent the hot food back to get reheated and the staff was nice about it.
The Brussel Sprouts were drowned out by the sauce. The meat and cheese platter needed some fruit. Side of fries was pretty good.
Family got together before going to the Pantages to celebrate my birthday and the restaurant was delightful. I loved that plates were meant to be shared and served family style. Wait staff was incredible too!
Had a wonderful time here before our show at the Pantages, which is right across the street! We made reservations online before hand and were running a few minutes late from traffic. When calling the restaurant the hostess was very sweet and said it was no problem. When arriving she was very welcoming and showed us to our table upstairs which had a great view of the bar and the outside patio. We had the charcuterie and house chips along with a champagne cocktail and a butterscotch dessert! All which were AMAZING! Our server Alec was very attentive! We had plenty of time to enjoy all of our food and the atmosphere before the show. Great time would definitely go again!
Girls night at the Theater. We were right across the street from the Pantages so we could take our time and enjoy dinner and drinks before the show then just walk across the street. Service was wonderful, Thanks Alec !!!! Portions were great, we actually ordered too much! We requested patio seating and got it, but little did we know it was the most windy day ever in Hollywood!!!! It still wasn't too bad and there were plenty of patio heaters. I would love to go back. It was a very special treat for folks that had to travel a couple of hours to get there.
Service was great. Their salmon was perfect- crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The lobster Mac n cheese was nice & creamy but a little too salty for my taste. The food overall was good but the location across the street from the Pantages is perfect! I would eat here again the next time we go to see a show just for the convenience alone and maybe to try a few more of their interesting cocktails!
This was my second visit to this restaurant and both times the food was excellent. It's traditional but with a twist. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was surprised how well the harmonious flavors of rosemary and butternut squash paired with the crispy fried chicken and maple syrup. Will definitely return!
Date next get with another couple and before Pantages show
We had a wonderful experience at Wood & Vine. The food was delicious and our server was attentive helpful in assisting with food choices. We will definitely return to this lovely restaurant.
Great all around service. Waiter couldn’t have been any better.
Tables are too close together outside. We had a table of 4 on one side and a table of 2 on the other..it felt like we were all dining together, no privacy conversation at all. Portions are too small, certainly not enough to "share" as they suggest. Our 18oz ribeye looked like 10oz at the most. Very over priced. The service also does not warrant the 20% tip they add to the bill.
Thank you for a great birthday dinner. I really enjoyed eating here with my family. The food was great and everyone was very friendly.
Great atmosphere with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Limited menu, but food is excellent as is the wine selection.
The popping shrimp appetizer was generous portions, but the batter was a little salty. Still a nice appetizer and was probably the highlight.
Waffle and chicken was ok. Nothing special. Basically, 1 piece of fried chicken breast over a 7-in waffle. Not worth $18. Daughter loves lobster mac and cheese and didn't particularly like theirs. Somewhat disappointing as far as food goes.
Service was great. Had reservations add got seated right away. Very convenient to the Pantages Theater and most of the customers I think were there to see the show. If not for the convenience, not sure this place will would hold its own.
Came here for brunch with my friend before a matinee performance of Aladdin at The Pantages Theatre. We were seated immediately in the patio area behind the restaurant. It was a "cold" day for LA so they had these heaters every where outside around the tables. The worst part about sitting outside was the noise. There a really loud obnoxious humming noise that sounded like it was coming from a generator or one of the heaters.
We already knew what we wanted so when he finally came to our table we were ready. I ordered a Bloody Mary, the avocado toast as a starter and then the chicken and waffles for the main dish. My friend ordered the whole wheat pancakes. The waiter came back and told me that they were out of Bloody Mary mix so they couldn't make me a Bloody Mary. This was on a Sunday during brunch and the bar didn't have any Bloody Mary drinks. Absolutely ridiculous. I ended up ordering the Irish Breakfast which is whiskey & hazelnut liquor with orange juice.
The Irish Breakfast cocktail and avocado toast were good. My chicken and waffles arrived before my friend's pancakes. Food should always be served at the same time. I hate eating while everyone else is waiting. It's rude and I don't want to finish before everyone else. The waiter explained that the food is delivered when ready to avoid getting cold which doesn't make sense because I end up waiting for my friend's food to arrive in order to be polite so my food ends up getting cold anyway. My friend's pancakes were enormous. My friend didn't expect the pancakes to be so big so she only ate one out of the three.
The restaurant has a mandatory 20% gratuity. This is my first time at a restaurant that has this kind of policy and I can tell you that after my experience here that this policy will not work. Generally I tip between 15-18% for standard service. There is no way that what I experienced was worth 20%. The entire bill was $81 for one cocktail, one starter, two main courses, tax and mandatory 20% tip.
It was great
Restaurant was busy and while food was very good, we waited one hour to be served our entree- we advised that we were going to theater - however this did not speed things up and our entree arrived very late. The Manager was apologetic and said it was a mix up and applied gratis wine and desert which was a nice gesture. Otherwise ambiance very nice- would go again despite the mix up - as it seemed it was unusual .
One of the place that was easy for going to the Pantages. Had a nice dinner with wine and coffee after. Made it to the theater on time as it is right across the street. Thank you
What a pleasant surprise it was to discover Wood & Vine, across the street from the Pantages Theater, where I'd sampled their cuisine at a private event for subscription ticket holders. Visiting the restaurant was a joy. Their Chicken and Waffles are a popular favorite and an item that's been on their menu from day one, according to the jovial Wally Morgan who stopped to chat with my date and I during our meal. We also had the pork ribs which were a zinngy and delicious treat. The menu is a great combo of comfort food and intriguing dishes and if you're going to the theater this is the spot to dine before or after. Reservations recommended.
Skylar, Oscar and all the additional team members did a wonderful job waiting on our group. Friendly, prompt and on top of the pacing we needed since we had theater tickets to get to on time!
I ordered the salmon dish and it was prepared perfectly. Staff was very friendly as well.
The brunch food is VERY over-priced. The music was way too loud. We will not be going here again.
First time here. Found the place on open table as we are from out of town here on vacation. Food, service, and ambiance were good. What was disappointing was that when I made the reservation we specifically included that it was a special occasion. But no mention of my daughter’s birthday at all. We’ve gone to other restaurants where they have made her feel very special which is always appreciated.
Our waitress Katie (from Alabama) made the whole dining experience a pleasure! She was upbeat and on top of things. Offered great suggestions on food and drink picks too! Will definitely come back to dine here again!
loved our pretheatre dinner. All food was excellent, service wonderful. overall great experience, highly recommend
The service, food and ambiance were perfect. So pleased al around.
Beautiful space for dinner before a show. Don’t let them try to seat you upstairs - whole other vibe, like the kids table. Brussels were great!
Scheduled a ladies night out, and I liked the atmosphere inside, I really booked it for the outdoor seating, but I’m sure with the rain everything is wet -so no problem. Loved the staff, our server was nice and she was knowledgeable about the food, but overall I was disappointed in our experience here. They were out of a good majority of things we wanted to try, and the “sharable” are very small. 1 shareable is a meal for 1, not big enough for 2 people to pick at -let alone 6 hangry women. The servings are small and overpriced, I’m all for quality eats, but the serving sizes were disappointing. Then, when asked to make accommodations to certain foods, they were unable to because the food is premade. There’s a hefty price tag for premade food. Even with everything all the food that came out it just nothing to really write home about. We had 2 orders of Brussels sprouts, buttermac, salmon (but we didn’t have the salmon with all the sides because they were out), chicken and waffles, fry pie, calamari, (they were out of the tuna tartar), (there was no chef special), (they weren’t serving the oysters or scallops), we had the Nutella bombshell which was the size of a condiment serving and it tasted like it had been out for a couple days (cake was dry).
Excellent service, friendly environment & most of all amazing people!!
My wife and I were here before seeing a play at the Pantages. Very convenient parking structure is across the street too. It was raining so there was nobody outside but the seating area looks nice. Service was good but when you order more than one thing, they bring out the food as soon as it's ready...thus you end up with food coming to the table in stages. Kinda funky... Food was good. We're not big on fish and there's a good deal of that on the menu so our choices were limited. Still, nice place!
Horrible, menu to small, hurt my teeth, the broiche bread was hard as a rock, eggs was runny.
At first, I choose this location because if the convenience of it being in front of Pantages. Parking was easy since you can valet at the W hotel. We had resrrvations for 6:30, so when we got there, we got seated right away. It was a lovely evening in theri patio area. Old classic movies were projected on a building, so you can watch and lounge. Our server was a young lady, who was helpful and attentive. There were 5 of us and she recommended that we get 2 appetizers and 3 main. It was a good size serving. Every dish came out flavorful and different. The tuna tartare was paired with the crispy chip and together, it was so good we ordered another. The next was mac and cheese, it was an adult flavored mac and cheese. A little spicy and nutty flavor. Next was the lamb burger, not ao fond of lamb but my friend (a lamb-lover) loved it. Then the Salmon, I do not usually eat the skin of the salmon but with this, it was crisp and crunchy, paired with a horseradish flavored mashed potato!! I loved it. The manager even gave us complimentary wine for birthday celebration. For sure, if I am in the area, I will stop by to grab a bite!
We selected the restaurant for pre-theatre dining as it is across the street from Pantages. It was an excellent experience. They seated us exactly at the time of our reservation, the service was excellent, food was delicious and arrived quickly, great menu selection, and relaxed atmosphere.
Our bartender Bret was wonderful. Enjoyed the salmon and table side bread!!!
