Wood & Vine
Wood and Vine is a New American restaurant and cocktail bar with a vintage Hollywood feel and expansive patio. We offer a menu of seasonal, ingredient-driven shared plates in a social atmosphere, complemented by local small batch beers and wines, and classic craft cocktails. Our kitchen is open until midnight, Tuesday-Saturday.
Horrible service would never go back. I do not want to spend the time to say more.
Wally makes you feel so welcome when you first get there. The Seabass is by far the best! We had the new addition to the menu, fish tacos. It was perfect. The light breading added a great crispness and the sauce had the perfect heat/kick to it. Hope to enjoy those again on the next visit.
One of the best margaritas!! Combined with the fish tacos - perfect pairing.
Excellent food, manager saw to it that we were treated liked valued guests. Good staff. Will be back.
Although they tell you ahead of time food comes whenever it’s ready, we didn’t enjoy getting one appetizer first, our main entree second and our other appetizer last since we weren’t sharing our appetizers. We noticed that the table next to us didn’t appreciate their brussel sprouts side dish coming out after they’d finished the rest of their meal.
Pleased that when we were rained out on the patio, we were seated inside promptly!
Didn’t know there was. 20% service charge included but the food was good.
This place has a really good vibe. Food and service were excellent. Fun place to share food. Nice bar
We were disappointed in the drinks expensive small and not really that tasty
Great ambiance and incredible food. The staff was outstanding as well. This is a great date night spot in a great location. Highly recommend!
Order a beer and didn’t even offer a glass, small portions, food could of been hotter, and felt rushed.
Ok place for dinner, good for drinks. Waiter was pretentious, which put a little damper on the evening.
we ate at Wood and Vine prior to a show at Pantages. We were seated prior to our reservation time which was appreciated. We only had few items toe at, and they were both good. We had drinks and a bottle of wine and we were never rushed or asked to move along, so that was great. It was a little warm upstairs and our two top table was up against a wall. I would ask for a different table next time or sit out back
We chose to eat at Wood and Vine because of the proximity to the Pantages Theater. It's literally across the street.
We were seated quickly in an upstairs loft, above the busy, noisy bar. The service throughout the meal was good which is good because the restaurant charges a 20% service charge in lieu of tips to help provide benefits to their staff members.
Our server commented that the menu is designed to be shared, which it also states on the menu, and that dishes would come out as prepared. Okay.
We ordered a watermelon salad, chicken and waffle, thai noodles with shrimp, a side of fries and a side of mac and cheese. We were told the watermelon salad would probably come out first.
The fries came out first, with a ketchup and horseradish aioli. They were okay. Half seemed to be great, crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside. The other half seemed dense and chewy.
Then the chicken and waffle. When you are pushing a sharing menu, the items should be a little smaller, and easily divisble among the people in your party. The waffle was a huge belgium waffle, too softy and not much flavor, topped with a fried, skinless chicken breast fillet pounded out to be thinner. Both items were dry, and huge. We cut each in half, but it was still too big to be considered a sharing item. It comes with a little pitcher of syrup and some cooked butternut squash cubes on top. These only added to the dryness of the overall dish.
Then the mac and cheese. Shells cooked and tossed with a bland sauce topped with crushed cheese-itz crackers. The crackers were a cute idea, but it just needed more flavor and to be baked and bubbly.
Then the Thai Noodles. A large bowl of noodles cooked in soy sauce, with some cooked onions (didn't see any other vegetables) and topped with three giant shrimp. This dish had flavor, but that flavor was just salt. Again, don't understand how this is a sharable dish.
Then the watermelon salad. No lime flavor in the dressing. Refreshing, but bland.
Great casual spot to grab a bite and drink before heading to any of the nearby theaters for a show or concert. The staff was also well informed of events going on in the area and very considerate of your timing.
Food was excellent for a casual spot.
Wonderful dining in a cool, casual space! Loved the gin cocktails... the creamy mac and cheese dish complimented the sweet/slightly hot Brussels sprouts really well! Great place to eat before a show at the Pantages!
Food was delicious. Ambiance was lovely. Will definitely dine there again. The staff was very helpful and recommended kid friendly items.
wait staff excellent..food very good..would visit again and recommend
It was an okay experience. Kind of expected more for my birthday.
Do to traffic we arrived late to our reservation but they were still able to seat us rapidly. Knowing we had a performance to get to the server was able to get our order in and to the table in an amazingly short time. The food was excellent and the Mac and cheese side was unusual but still enjoyable.
Food was excellent and our waiter was very patient with us and answered all of our questions courteously and knowledgeably.
Ambience is nice. Wasn't overly impressed with the food plus they told us they were out of the Sea Bass But we saw it being served to other tables seem like they were just trying to sell a couple dishes out of the kitchen maybe they were overstocked. Guy waiter we had seem to be very sales'y! Enjoyed the wine and cocktails. Might go back for the drinks before another play but otherwise don't see the point.
Grest food, good portions. Wasn't keen about the automatic 20% gratuity. Thats way out of line.
Outstanding food was exceptional
Such a great place to go and have a wonderful meal. Cool vibe and excellent service! Definitely will go back
Incredible! Wanted to try this place for a while and it was worth the wait. The food was unique and filling. We had a Watermelon salad that was delicious. It was one of a kind. The entrees (it was recommended to share plates) were great. The New Standard include two burgers with a unique flavor and taste. Highly recommend it. The wait staff members are attentive and are a part of the ambiance. The restaurant adds 20% to each check (a bargain!) so the whole staff works as a team. We were also glad We made a reservation due to it being so popular. We drove in from Orange County and it was well worth the ride.
Delicious new items added to the menu. And of course our old favorites were still there. Love visiting every time we have tix at the Pantages. Why go anywhere else when Wood and Vine is so great!!!
I come here very often before shows at the Pantages. The service is great and cocktails are delicious. I only wish there were more vegan options! Bring back the impossible meatballs please! I have to eat the same thing every time I go here which is a shame.
Went to see Frozen at the Pantages across the street for date night. Looked on Yelp, found this place and the reviews were good. Not disappointed at all. Great service, great food and cool vibe
Ordered a Manhattan and Martini to start. Both were pretty weak - warm and not made well. Scotch eggs were good as were the pork shanks. The risotto wasn’t good - way too much cumin. Brussel sprout were OK - pretty spicy. Overall disappointing. I won’t be back.
Portion sizes were poor value for cost but food was tasty. Service was poor, hard to get non-alcoholic drinks.
Party of 7 shared pork shins, burgers, jambalaya & chicken + wings. We liked everything and portions were filling.
Great location to the Pantages. The food is tasty. I wish they had more choices.
Our first time at the restaurant. Service was great, food as different and amazing. We enjoyed the night thoroughly and would go back again.
Good for families- definitely for the area a good choice but if in LA for a limited time maybe try a different neighborhood.
Ideal date spot in the middle of Hollywood.
Great place to go if you're seeing a show. We were there to see Frozen and stopped in for a bite. We were delighted to see they had vegan risotto as my daughter is lactose intolerant and I am vegan! We had the burnt brussel sprouts, rice noodles and risotto. All were very tasty and we enjoyed eating family style. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. Usually, we go to sushi but we will come again when we are in town to see Hamilton!
Overall, a very good experience. The only downside is the 20% forced gratuity. Not cool.
Delicious food and perfect location for going to Pantages Theater. Our waitress was so thoughtful and caring. I asked for a quiet table and they found the perfect one. We were very pleased!
Food was okay. Very salty. Shared Brussel sprouts, burger & Caesar salad. They couldn’t make a martini. Nice view of theatre. Disappointing.
