Focused on today’s more social, casual and impromptu dining needs, Wollensky's Grill offers bites of culinary intrigue to excite the palate and awaken the senses. Paying homage to an American look with a global culinary perspective, the revived lower-level speakeasy setting displays scrubbed oak hardwood, antique lighting and expansive all-glass riverfront dining—for a lively place to connect, unwind and spark conversation.

I go to Wollensky's Grill several times a year, and this was probably the weakest visit. The Steak in the French Dip was very dry and salty: barely edible. Very disappointing. In addition, when we asked for some of their delicious bread before the meals came, we were told that it was only available upstairs at the main restaurant, making us feel like second class citizens. Questioning whether I'll return.
Excellent service from the time I walked in the door, throughout my entire meal. Great steak, love the chimichurri sauce.
Nice place on the river , cheaper than the restaurant upstairs but good food
One of our favorite restaurants in the city. Mike always waits on us and he is great. The food is always perfect and the drinks are strong.
Had a/c going, asked to turn it down and they didn't do nothing, then food came in and got cold quickly because of the a/c blasting, didn't enjoy my food because it got cold so quick!
Great View. The frite Filet was cooked to perfection. Waiter was very engaging and very helpful with selection.
Great! Enjoyed the food, drink, and view. A little loud because there was a Derby party the night we went. Would go again.
My friend and I were very pleased at every aspect of our visit there. We had a great table facing the water, the food was top notch and the service was attentive. Since we had almost randomly picked the place, we were beyond thrilled at how well it worked out. It's just noisy enough that I'm not sure I would call it romantic, but we were still able to have a great conversation.
Always fantastic service specially spoiled by Theresa .
Great food, superb views, and excellent service. We had a great evening!
Great views of the river. Food was good, but not enough of it. For $42 you get an 8 oz filet (looked smaller) and a handful of fries. If you are a big eater, you will need to get sides as well. Service was outstanding. They split a bowl of lobster bisque for us to share. My husband was still hungry when we left. Mostly because we didn't order vegetables and other sides/appetizers. Very nice place to dine.
Good food and atmosphere. Place is a little tired. Great view but we sat inside - outside is better but is was too cold. Waiter was super attentive.
Thank you to Malissa and Rachel, great service and friendly conversation, very much appreciated
Good views, great views, reasonably priced
Great place. Will go back!
Great restaurant! I think most forget about the Grill option (lower level of Wollensky's Steakhouse), but honestly the best views right on the water, fantastic food, and amazing service. We will be back!
Fantastic venue. Excellent view right on the river and outstanding servixe
Great experience. Server gave appropriate level of attention. Great food and wonderful views.
Thank you Emjai, for the wonderful review. Hope to see you again soon.
Last time we went to Wollensky’s Grill it was a disaster. We decided to give them another try since it’s close and we were hungry. Thankfully they redeemed themselves! Burger was cooked perfectly and fries were hot this time! Mussels to start were also delicious. Wait staff was much better this time around as well.
We have enjoyed many wonderful dinners at Smith & Wollensky—love the lamb chops and the bone in ribeyes, and they always serve great cocktails—Paloma Rosa is my fav!—but the other night we were wanting hamburgers and decided to go to Smith & Wollensky—they did not disappoint!!! As I anticipated, they are just as great a burger and beer place as they are a steakhouse:)
Thank you so much... sometimes a burger and a beer hits the spot!!
It was a beautiful night on the Chicago River. Great food and fun!
Best steak in the city is the cajun ribeye! Perfect view of the river and great cocktails!
Mike, Thank you so much for the very kind review. I do agree the Cajun Ribeye is the best!!
Great service & even better food. Would definitely recommend!
Amanda, Thank you for the wonderful review and we are so pleased you enjoyed the dining experience.
Excellent hostess, service and food. As usual!

We are so glad you had a good time!!
Great food great service, great atmosphere!! Our first time. We will be back!!
We look forward to your next visit! Thank you so much for the lovely review!!
We had a table right by the river. It was raining but we still enjoyed the view. You can order off the grill menu or the regular S&W menu or both. My husband ordered the shrimp bisque soup. It came to him cold but they brought another one right away. We both enjoyed our meal and he ambiance of the Wilensky Grill! Prices are a little cheaper than upstairs and you still can enjoy a good steak.
Thank you so much for the very kind review. We are pleased you enjoyed dining with us .. and so sorry about the soup.
Awesome experience, can't wait for my next meal there!
We can't wait to see you again also!! Hurry back!
Excellent service and atmosphere ....a must try!!!

Excellent meat. .
Excellent food, amazing service, great atmosphere, lovely view sat right next to the window.
Manager was amazing!
Already have been recommending it
Great food, would come back again
Steak needed to be cooked more (ordered medium and received too rare). Fries and Asparagus were too cold - had to ask for fresh fries when steak was brought out the second time. Fries still not very good - very hard (overcooked) and asparagus overcooked and soft. Management was nice as was server but not the steak experience I was expecting.
Good burger, lots of onion rings
The food was outstanding and the service was excellent! It could not have been more perfect.
Wonderful food and service, excellent ambiance highly recommended
The best thing about our experience was the view overlooking the river. Service was great. Just average quality food was grossly overpriced. Two, small filets, two drinks and one vegetable side order for just a little less than $200. (Including tip). No desert or coffee. Will not go back.
