   Some really great flavors and good presentation. Omekase was good, not great. When I get Omekase, I am expecting some level of magic. The offerings, although high level sushi and sashimi bites, weee not particularly stunning. I would stick with normal sushi and Japanese menu.

   First of all, I forgot my cell phone. I had reservation at 6:45pm, but my guests were late due to late arrival at Newark airport. I had no way to communicate with them. I waited till after 7pm, then finally asked to use their house phone around 7:15pm. I called my colleague (whose phone number I remembered) and asked him to call my guests. By that time, they had checked in at their hotel and was in cab. The staff members were so patient with me. I really appreciated. We had great food & sake (Kubota!). Thank you!

   Very good omakase selection. Would have been nice to sit in a booth. Tables are close together and neighboring conversations were loud.

   Busy place early in the evening, crowd thins out about 8:00. Food is good, mostly seafood, service is good, drinks are okay. Booths are nice, individual tables are close to each other.

   Lots of variety on the menu. Servers were very helpful in answering questions. We loved the yellowtail collar and the Kaisen Hitsumabushi but everything we ordered was delicious!

    1st time there but amazing place…will def be back…get there before 12:30pm for lunch and make a reservation as the place filled up completely. Very authentic.

    May the server is THE BEST SERVER I HAVE EVER HAD AT WOKUNI, EVER!!! Her enthusiasm, attention to detail, follow-through, knowledge of the menu, knowledge of wines WAS SPECTACULAR!!!!     I rarely give 5-star reviews. The menu, flavors, presentation and vibe are all authentic Japanese. For a small restaurant the menu is wide-ranging and quite interesting. I wanted to try one of everything! The staff works very hard to ensure a good experience. Everything we had was delicious. We had a great evening. There are some interesting nice selection of sake. We are planning to go back this week to try the omakase experience. I would add that it is not cheap but in my view it’s quite reasonable for the quality.

    An absolute gem of a find! We love a fresh Japanese restaurant and this took the cake! Excellent happy hour specials and kids prices. We just ordered and ordered- value was super!

    This was a TERRIBLE dining experience- wish I could have my date night and money back. We had an 8:30 reservation and received a call from the restaurant around 8 asking if we could arrive early as they wanted to shut down early for the evening. We should have just canceled immediately. We went early and were seated by 815. We were then initially told that we couldn’t order the omakase because they were closing the kitchen. We complained that we had a reservation (AND WERE EARLY) so they went ahead with the order. Everything was rushed and felt like plates were stuffed in the table in an effort to move us along. The food was fine but nothing special, especially given I could hardly taste as we were being rushed along. Do not recommend visiting - what a disappointment for a date night

    I had the ten-don and it was pretty good. the tempura wasn't super oily and the batter was just right. I just wish that there were other vegetables besides the shishito pepper.

    Wokuni serves very fresh, clean, high-quality sushi, sashimi, and hot entrees. The servers are friendly, and the atmosphere is sleek but welcoming. The luncheon specials provide great value. This is an excellent place for Japanese food in midtown.
