Wok n Fire - Wheaton Ratings and Reviews
Today is my 15 years old daughter birthday and she loves Coming to this restaurant and today's experience was not bad but when I booked through OpenTable I requested via-note to sing Happy Birthday to her after our meal. They completely forgot, I had to go to the hostess and let her know that we got our check and no Birthday song even though I reminded them when I check in.... So they apologized and took care of the issue and give me discount on our meal... We love this restaurant and will keep going to dine here.
My girls are sushi fanatics. They all loved their fare... I like sushi too, but I was after a filling meal. I went with the Korean BBQ. It was FANTASTIC!!! The only complaint I could possibly find was the car parked out front was angled such that for about 15 minutes was reflecting the sun right at our table. This place was incredible. Good service, great food. I would definitely do this again.
Good food with lots of options to chose from.
The service is not very sophisticated, but the young people are trying to be nice and accommodating.
The only problem this restaurant has is the level of cleanliness. Everything is a little sticky: the tables, the utensils. We mentioned this to the manager, and suggested using different methods and products to use for cleaning and dishwashing.
Not a busy night - roughly 50% of the tables were full. It took 20 minutes to get four waters and 35 minutes to get two beers and a glass of wine. Three of our appetizers came out before we got our drinks.
The food was great, but we kept having to track down our waiter (we literally had to stand up from the table and walk around to find him each time we needed another drink, refill, new food order, etc). Once we got the bill (only 3 tables still in their seats at this point in the evening), it took a 20 minute effort to find the waiter for him to take the check from us.
We had a 7 month old and a 2.5 year old with our group of 4 adults - it took 2 hours and 45 minutes from start to finish, which is unacceptable.
The nigiri, specialty maki rolls, and entrees - FOOD is great. Sushi is incredibly fresh and well prepared!
Server had trouble with our large group that included kids, sushi ala carte, and non sushi eaters. In these cases just write it down instead of getting our order all wrong.
Appletini was artificial. Kitchen not well timed. Manager was decent, still there were errors in our bill due to server errors in our order. Overall, a great place for good, clean sushi. Just pay attention and make sure staff are paying attention.
We have been to Wok n Fire many times before. Overall they have a diverse menu with items for everyone, they have a large dinning room and seperate bar. Both areas have a nice armosphere and interesting decor. It offers consistently good food at a fair price and the wait time for the food to arrive is usually not very long.
The service has been hit or miss, it was excellent this time. They checked in on us multiple times.
We usually enjoy the pan fried dumplings, this time they were a bit dense and dry probably a bit over cooked. I ordered their plumb wine, it was good, sweet as expected. We got sushi and were happy with our selections. They had a fantastic roll on their specials that was topped with a breaded and fried scallop. The sauces, sushi and scallop were a warm, complex flavor with a great texture in my mouth (a very big bite). That roll was the hilight of the meal.
