Wok n Fire - St Charles Ratings and Reviews
Dined here on a spur-of-the-moment Sunday night. The restaurant was pretty steady despite a snow storm that had started a few hours earlier. The only way into the restaurant was through a revolving door that had not been treated at all for snow or ice removal. It was very tricky trying to get in with our party. We said something to the hostess who just agreed that it was very slippery but didn't seem too concerned. We were seated right away and waited nearly 10 minutes to be greeted by a server. This pretty much set the mood for the level of service we'd get throughout the meal. The food that we ordered was delicious. We know it's good, which is why we went in. However, when our food eventually came, we had no utensils. Getting a refill on our iced tea/water/soda was nearly impossible. We chose not to order alcohol because we didn't want to wait for it. I'd probably bypass this location in the future for similar restaurants in the area.
Fourth time we have eaten here. Good sushi selection. Big hit with locals for the happy hour. Only disappointment this time is the special Summer Sashim platter. Advertise as thick slices of sashimi turn out to be very thin wafer slices of fish. Our waitress was excellent as usual.
We were waited on right away (This time) had a great server
Had the same thing as last time since it was so good Papa’s sushi roll & sweet and spicy beef with their fried rice ( only complaint not enough fried rice had to ask for more)
Came home with leftovers great reheated for lunch this week :)
We had a reservation for 6:45 and specifically asked for a booth because we were having a birthday party with two teenage girls not only do they not have a booth for us but stuck Us in the very center of the restaurant that was so crowded it was even hard to listen to anyone talk... the only thing I can say is at the food was terrible and the sake tasted like vinegar. It seemed like the girls that work there were more interested in flirting with the bartender and the gentleman at the front of the restaurant that was checking people in... it only takes one of these encounters to turn us away from a restaurant and this was it for us. We used to really enjoy coming here...
Had a reservation since it is a popular place on the weekends especially. Always try to request a booth since we find those to be less noisy
A little disappointment in the beginning sat there at least 10 minutes no one even acknowledged us, no waters ...nothing so went up to the hostess stand to find out who our waiter or waitress was.
After that hick up dinner was yummy
We ordered the sushi pappa’s choice as our starter & some salmon was very good We ordered the sweet and spicy stirfry with vegetable fried rice and the sesame beef stirfry with vegetable fried rice both very very good
It was awesome food was amazing service was superior!!!
We love sitting in the bar area what great energy .. I love the sushi there and of course the martinis . Hands down this is my favorite place love it !!! Thank you again for another amazing meal and fun time you guys rocked it out as always and I brought friends in from another suburb who have never been here before .. so thank you great hospitality !!!
See you next week
Food and cocktails were delicious as always and our server was great as well. Only reason I have it 4 stars is because of the hostesses. They were very scatter-brained and a couple people and I were waiting while they seemed confused on what to do. I was last in line and the hostess didn’t even know I was there. However, I wouldn’t let this deter any future visits. I assume they’ll be more experienced or have better hostesses.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was a birthday get together that was being followed by another event so we needed to be walking out at a given time. We let them know up front, and they got us out when we needed to. And even split the bill by couples. Everyone enjoyed their food and the portions were just right.
Great staff great food I love coming here .. for there specials I love they waitstaff very friendly and always on cue with drinks and just smiling and very knowledgeable about the menu .
I dine here quite a bit sometimes every weekend lol but I can't help it where else is there with this caliber of people in a such a great environment
We booked this place online, they asked if was a special occasion. I said yes for a birthday. They did NOTHING special for the birthday guest. The water was nasty Tap water forcing you to order a real drink.
The Pad Thai noodles ehh the flavors it all tastes the same. Hubby got a variety of sushi. It was barley a variety. It was 3 different sushi X 2. And it was just raw fish on a pad of rice for $35. Now that is insane!
Service was meh. She didn't even offer desserts to us till she already gave us the bill. They did have fries for the kid.
