Wok n Fire - S Barrington Ratings and Reviews
We started off with the avocado maki which was creamy and delicious, then the coconut shrimp with an amazing dipping sauce. Entrees were a soba noodle vegetarian and tofu and mongolian scallops. We really enjoyed our entrees but were getting full quickly after the appetizers. My mai tai was a little strong but I'm not really a drinker. I would go back again and try some new dishes and get the avocado maki again. Really enjoyed it.
The food, drinks and atmosphere were great. The bar area was busy and the bartenders were efficient. However, service in the dining area was not good. Our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time and didn’t get our order right. We ordered soup and never got it. We ordered 4 rolls and only got three. We had to remind the waitress of our order. One rolls was wrong, but we weren’t charged for it and we were provided the correct one. The waitress also couldn’t identify the different rolls.
Make sure you have a reservation because if not you will be waiting in a small waiting area in the front entrance. Service is a hit or miss, our first time going service was great this most recent was lacking severely. Food was good haven't had any issues there.
This used to be a special , sort of upscale restaurant. Now the place seems a bit dirty and run down. The window was extremely drafty at our table. One saving grace was our server was attentive. The food was nothing spectacular. Wok'nFire is off my list of favorites.
We were seated immediately, our server was a bit scattered, although very friendly. Food, for the most part was very good, I suggest skipping the Chicken Soup, it tasted like uncleaned chicken. Sushi was delicious and the Banana Fritters were incredible. I recommend this for overall satisfaction.
Always a nice option for Asian Fusion food. In all my years of dining at Wok n Fire I have experienced poor service only once! The managers usually will come around to ask about your comfort and food experience. The servers are professional and genuinely nice; except the one time.
The only reason I am recommending this restaurant is because they have a kids meals. The Asian food is sub-par overall. We have been here before, but every time we come one of the dishes is not seasoned properly. It happens all of the time. The service overall is good. But I order the Mahi Mahi dish and there was no salt. Someone forgot to salt the dish. Asian food is always salty. Anyway, dishes are always lacking seasoning. If the seasoning is lacking, just speak with management. I just asked for a salt shaker to save the dish.
