After getting past the silly, slightly offensive antics at the front desk, we really enjoyed our evening once we were seated. The food was excellent and the service was super friendly and on point. Delicious cocktails and a menu of the type of food we love to eat. The room is great looking. We look forward to coming back and to the day when we can finally spend time at the bar.

Service was incredible and the ambiance was intimate but lively in a beautiful rustic, old environment. The food was very good and the cocktails were spectacular.

Was disappointed. It was my girlfriends birthday and I called before and made sure staff knew it was a special occasion and mentioned to seat us at a romantic table. To my dismay they basically sat us in the bar area and made no mention of her birthday until I paid the check and the waitress said Happy Birthday when we were leaving.
Food was good and staff nice , but I was very disappointed.

I cannot say enough what an amazing time we had - the food was spectacular, the atmosphere was great and the staff helped me congratulate my best friend whos engagement we were celebrating - they were so warm and wonderful.

It was a Great experience. The ambiance was perfect. Very romantic and cozy. I've eaten there before and fell in love with the restaurant now I've grown to love it more. Food is AMAZING!! The food and service were outstanding. I would love to go back. Some of their signature cocktails were just ok, and at $15/drink, that's a little rough. Beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful service.

The atmosphere is phenomenal. We loved 3 out of the 4 dishes we ordered (country ham plate, bolognese and duck). Cocktails were exceptional. Order the espresso martini with fernet—not on the menu but absolutely a must try.

Husband and I were in Hudson for the weekend. Decided to go to Wm. Farmer and sons for dinner. Very nice. Food and cocktails were great as was the staff! Thank you!

This place is gorgeous. Tables are super spaced out to address the current health concerns, and the place is incredibly well appointed. You feel relaxed from the moment. You walk in. Food is delicious, and there is a good number of good options that Renés to be rare in the current COVID times. Good got intimate / cozy dinners and also caters for groups. Dim lit, but not overly so. Perfect.

Arrived a little late and they were very accommodating sitting us right away and asking politely to consider the next reservation for our same table in 90 minutes rather than the allotted 2 hrs. Service was superb and the meal one of the best in recent memory. A little surprised the bar didn’t serve Grey Goose.... huh? But no matter. Had a great meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended

Worst cut and preparation of steak I’ve ever had- sent it back and received the same poor, undercooked pieces....awful, sub standard $38 entree. DO NOT order the “Tavern Steak”- such an easy plate to prepare- Farmer and Sons totally dropped the ball.

Dessert was the best part.

As always, a creative and surprising and delicious menu, friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, great cocktails, .. and meticulous care to uphold social distancing standards... we are devotees of Wm Farmer.. thank you for giving us a chance to celebrate a birthday truly joyously.

Great experience at Wm Farmer and Sons. Food was excellent (particularly the pork belly), drinks were great, and the service was very good. Loved the interior of the restaurant and atmosphere. Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit.

We had high expectations on making our reservation to this Restaurant. My wife had the pappardelle and I the tavern burger along with the chicory salad. The salad came out and was fabulous. My wife enjoyed her meal. I ordered the burger medium-well expecting a little pink in the center. It wasn't just pink, but raw. I sent it back and they put the same burger on the grill. By the time it came back, it was still well undercooked and any cheese on it had long sense melted away. This time I told them to start over again. They did, and it was still undercooked, but not so bad that this time it was going to "moo" at me. I felt bad for the waitress. At any time did I ever see a manager? No, of course not. It will be a long time before I go back to this place. The fireplace was nice.

While we thought the service, ambiance, and cocktails were great, the food was just ok. We had some oysters, the tomato soup, snail lasagna, tavern steak, and the pork belly. None of the dishes stood out unfortunately. Overall, the quality and taste of the food felt lacking for the price.

While visiting Hudson we chose to dine at this restaurant, which had great reviews. The staff was great and attentive. The food was mediocre at best. My husband ordered a steak. For the price it should have melted in his mouth, which didn’t happen. I ordered the tomato soup which was a poor consistency...Very thick. I also ordered the Cauliflower which was billed as a main course. Unfortunately it was laden with cheese and very bland. We probably won’t be back.

This highly rated restaurant lives up to its reputation. Visited on a recent Saturday night, and I assume due to COVID, we were told we would be dining inside their Inn a block away. Pleasantly surprised, as I think the cozy colonial style dining room, adjacent to a modern "cooking show-type" kitchen was a nice mix of the old and new. Same menu, as food runners literally lived up to their names running between the building in single-degree temperatures, though the hot items were still in fact hot. Menu same as in main building, and I thought entrees pretty reasonable in price ($16 - $26), as were the appetizers ($13-$15.) (Compared with NYC-area prices.) Menu not overly extensive, but enough choices for everyone. My wife had the fresh oysters to start, with a main course of Snail Lasagna (portion small, but fine for her, waitress did inform us before.) Cajun "Boudin Balls" and Chicken Thigh Nuggets were quite large in size, too large for me. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Very impressed with everything!

Had such a perfect dinner to celebrate my anniversary here! The staff came out with complimentary champagne minutes after we were seated and were so helpful, kind and attentive. They went out of their way to make our night so special and memorable! Would go back and recommend to anyone visiting Hudson.

Great food and excellent service. We accidentally left our credit card upon paying and they made sure to call us immediately and meet the day after to give it back. Fantastic staff, great atmosphere, try their steak:)

It IS Covid, so the ambience is mellow at the moment, which was nice for our gathering of four. Drinks decent. Food delicious. Service & atmosphere lovely that night. It's an "outing" experience that made our night.

We ate in the Merchant House, which felt a bit like a private home dining room. So the ambiance was lacking, but I get it since we’re living in unusual times. The service was great, friendly and helpful staff. The food was good and the prices were okay. All in all we had a nice meal, but we’d expected a bit better atmosphere.

A friend I was with is a foodie and said he will forever trust my judgement because it was the best pork belly he has ever tasted in his entire life. I am far from a foodie and thought the burger was amazing. We were seated in front of a beautiful fireplace and in general the setting was unbelievable.

Tonight, however, was a grave disappointment.
Drinks were great, per usual.
But times are tough and so was the steak.
The dessert was so bad we had to send it back.
Hope this is a temporary condition.
