   Went to Wissota after a friend said she went there. Was a date night with my wife and everything was perfect. Food just melts in your mouth and all the staff is super nice.

   A $40 steak should come with a side of sorts. I ordered a shareable appetizer of fries and the waitress assumed it went with my meal and didn’t bring it out until we asked after a long wait. When we said we didn’t need a box she took our half-finished charcuterie board with the fruit, honey and cheese still on it. Kids dropped glassware off a table that exploded in a shatter. We are not sure we got truffle fries and not just seasoned flat rack fries. I’ve never gotten truffle fries with ketchup and not a specialty sauce. My steak was very plain and dry even though pink in the center. The waitress was unable to process visa (use anywhere Visa is excepted) gift cards…expensive anniversary date when it wasn’t in the plans. Weren’t offered NA drink options.

   The overall experience was okay. I had higher expectations based on the cost. My steak was undercooked but had great flavor. Our mushroom risotta had so much pepper. It was a lot.of.money for a "so so" experience. We will not be returning.

   I'm from out of town and did not know the area. This is a tiny hotel restaurant you could easily not know it was there if you drove by. However, this was truly an excellent experience. The drinks and food rate on the same level as top restaurants in larger cities.

    I have been a customer at Wissota for over 2 years. Every time I go there, my experience is phenomenal! Wissota has amazing staff, fantastic, and professional service. They also have delicious food, drinks, and an incredible atmosphere! If you are looking for a 5 star restaurant for a guys night out, girls night out, date night, work dinner or celebration dinner; Wissota is the place to go!     We had a wonderful dinner at the wissota chophouse, in Steven Point. We were treated very well. I believe our servers name was Maddie and she was so friendly, kind and very attentive to us. We had such a nice dinner at this restaurant , would recommend highly.

    We arrived early and were seated within a short time. Bonnie was our server. She was great and helped recommend items from menu. It was our 39th wedding anniversary and they provided dessert free of charge. I would recommend Wissota Chophouse!! Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!

    Our meal was both good and bad. We had made a reservation for our anniversary a week earlier. We were initially given a table for two next to a wine cooler. Not very romantic. We asked for a different table. The server was very flustered and said that they were basically all reserved. We ended up at a table by the wall where the air was constantly blowing cold. The patrons that came in after us were given nicer tables. None of them looked like they had planned to eat there that night. Our server developed an attitude after this. She rarely checked back on us. The plates were not cleared between courses. The 2nd server stopped by and was very friendly and asked what we were celebrating. Our server never asked this. The manager also stopped by often with water. We asked for bread with our soup. Our server told us that this was not how it was done there. We did get bread because we pushed for it, but only received one type that was very dry. The people around us were give 2-3 choices. Our server became more attentive later, because it was closer to tip time and someone had probably talked to her. The food was also good and bad. The crabcakes were delicious. The lobster bisque was cold and had no lobster. The airline chicken was also very good, just small. The hollandaise was ice cold and looked like pudding. We sent it back. The replacement had too much citrus in it. The sauce was taken off of our bill. We were also comped two desserts. The carrot cake was good. The tiramisu was too sweet and sloppy looking. We had expected a wonderful meal at these prices. Due to the very inexperienced waitress, the less than stellar food and terrible table, we were very upset. The 2nd server and the manager made up for the bad experience we had. We'll try it again to see if improvements have been made.

    We eat at Wissota about once every two months. Our go to is happy hour for some drinks and usually a few of the shareable sides as they are really good. They have a rotating selection of local beers on tap and the wine list is solid. A few of our favorites are the flatbreads, bacon Mac and we always get the risotto (mushroom or blue cheese you can’t go wrong). This time there was something different about the risotto that seemed either overcooked or mushy. Otherwise Bonnie and the staff were great. I hope it was just a one off on the food last night. We’ll still be back!

    Jocyline was our server and she was amazing! It was downhill from there… Ordered a soda-it was flat. She was accommodating and got one out of a can. Ordered mushroom risotto- it was like they puréed it. It was a bowl of mush and extremely salty. Ordered burgers- also very salty and small (compared to the last two times we were there). Prawn’s were tough and had little flavor. Could’ve used more garlic. There was a woman at the bar who was extremely loud and obnoxious, and it wasn’t crowded that night. Really disappointing. Not sure we’ll return for the price we paid.

    Arrived for our 2 party dinner reservation at 6:00pm, seated immediately after a brief chat with the chef/manager we have known for years. Jocelyn was our waitress, cool, calm and very efficient - excellent service. We had fried goat cheese as an appetizer, followed by lamb for me, steak for my spouse -- both seasoned and cooked to near perfection. The bottle of Hess Cab was very good. Overall excellent, a bit pricey mostly due to the cost of wine but that is an individual choice. Highly recommend this establishment.

    We came in celebrating our 35th anniversary. I had it noted in our reservation, but it was not acknowledged. The service was mediocre, the food was awful. The waitress knew the food wasn’t prepared correctly. Both my steak and my husband’s prawns were way overdone. She gave us asparagus but we asked for Brussel sprouts. The cost was expensive!!!!!     We both ordered the tenderloin and it was Milton your mouth delicious. We'd go back in a heartbeat. The waitstaff was delightful. It is a very upscale restaurant in the heart of Stevens Point.
