Food and service where all good. Its definitely a finer dinning restaurant. The steaks where cooked perfectly and meals where served on time with no overlap of appetizers/main course. Service was excellent as well. Definitely a place to go to more then once.

In my opinion, I just felt the pricing was a little too steep for the overall experience here in Central Wisconsin.
On Bonnie's recommendation my wife had the Salmon special, it was excellent that night, as well as the next day. I had the the dry aged ribeye, also excellent. You must try the Nueske slab bacon. Not cheap, but well worth the cost.
We tried this place because it was new to us. I did not expect a dry aged ribeye cooked medium rare, which it was, to be so stringy. The meat they use is not worth the price. It is possible they just got some bad beef this time around. The staff was all great even though they all seemed quite new and uninformed of drink pairings. The margarita i ordered was undrinkable due to being too much tequila.

This was our first visit to Wissota Chop House. The only issue we had was deciding what we wanted to choose from the extensive menu. I chose the 10oz. Filet with prawns as an enhancer. My wife chose the lobster risotto. We also had the French onion soup, crab cakes and a spring salad.
The food was incredible, with the filet being the best piece of beef I’ve ever had. The risotto was excellent and a large enough serving that we had left overs for a meal the next evening.
Bonnie was our server and did an outstanding job in describing our choices, and offering suggestions.
We will definitely return!

Our host Bonnie treated us like an old friend. Nolan our server was excellent. Al at the bar knew his wine like a pro and made great selections for us. Happy hour is nice so half off on wine. Bone in New York strip was amazing. We live an hour away but so worth the trip!

My husband and I decided to have dinner at Wissota on the day of our wedding anniversary. They totally made it convenient for me regarding my dietary restrictions. PLUS, they gave us one of the best carrot cakes ever!! (I believe it’s homemade?) Kudos to the chef and staff!! This restaurant is fabulous.

So we were there for about two hours. I ordered the dry aged New York strip and was given the ribeye. My wife ordered onions one her steak, they came on mine. Ordered my steak medium, and it was not evenly cooked. A good portion was rare. Very disappointed, especially for the money we paid. Service was fine and the server was nice, but we won’t be going back. Go to Muse if you’re looking for fine dinning... way better food and not as expensive.
Its one fine restaurant to dine for a special occasion dinner.
Great experience for our anniversary. Best restaurant we have been to in WI hands down. Received heart felt anniversary card signed by all of the staff. Awesome drinks as well.

The bartender was rude, slow and loud. We went for the atmosphere and she ruined it. We wont be back. Nolan was an amazing server. He apologize for her several times.

Once again our evening was perfect, from the service, to the food and drinks. A wonderful way to start feeling normal again after being stuck at home for 2 1/2 months!
This is a nice spot. The food was very good (NY Strip steaks for my dinner guest and me). Our server, Nolan, was very good-friendly and efficient. He could have refilled the coffee cups, but I find more and more restaurants that just don't do that to so they can turn tables. Here, the restaurant was virtually empty (probably due to all the threats of the virus). The ambiance was a bit antiseptic, with lots of hard surfaces. It was not unpleasant, just not warm. I suspect that it would have been quite loud with all those hard surfaces, but for the fact that there was no one there to make noise.
On balance, Wissota Chophouse is a nice spot with good food and good service.
All I can say is WOW. The food was out of this world, the service was incredible, and the atmosphere was perfect. My steak and scallops were cooked to perfection and my date got chicken Marsala which was so good I kept stealing from her plate. Whoever runs this place is doing a fantastic job and I cannot wait to go back! Great place!
The service was not up to expectations for the high end menu. We waited much longer then our reservation time with no updates. Our wait to get acknowledged at the bar to get an initial beverage was longer then felt appropriate. And then again after finally getting seated at our table. Food was good once we got it.
Arrived at 6 o’clock for a 615 reservation. Was seated at 6:30. At 8 o’clock we still did not have our food and decided to leave. The waitress was very nice and we know that that’s not her fault. It was Valentine’s Day but that’s still no excuse for more than an hour and a half wait for food. Will not return.
Upon arrival at 6:20pm, there were very few patrons in the restaurant. We were seated promptly and received our drinks and salad/soup in a timely manner. We then waited for 30 minutes for our entrees. The diners at the next table arrived and ordered after we did but received their entrees 20 minutes prior to us. We were informed there was only one chef in the kitchen and because we ordered soup and salad, our order was bumped further down in line. After being told the entrees would be out in 2 minutes, 10 minutes later, our entrees came. My husband was asked to cut into his steak before the plate hit the table to check the doneness. He barely looked at it but stated it was fine since we had already waited 30 plus minutes for the entrees and were not going to wait for another steak to be cooked. After eating a few bites, he discovered the steak was cooked medium well and he had ordered medium rare. It was very disappointing for a chop house. Management did cover the cost of our drinks after we pointed out the problems but it was not enough to make up for the disappointment and mediocre meals we received at their extravagant prices. We will not be eating at this restaurant again and would not recommend it to others.
This place is a hidden GEM! I made the reservation on the menu alone and was not disappointed. The Food was EXCEPTIONAL and so was the service. I am from Chicago and this steakhouse could go up against the best in Downtown Chicago no problem!

After having a reservation canceled on us by Wissota Chophouse, I received a reply on my previous review from the manager, Sherry. I was able to get in contact with Sherry via a phone call in which she fully explained the situation and apologized for the miscommunication. Sherry was quick to rectify the situation. On the evening of Saturday, August 8, we made a reservation and went back to Wissota Chophouse for another dining experience. This experience was as flawless as the first experience. The food was incredible and the service was excellent. Wissota Chophouse is the premier steakhouse in Central Wisconsin. I am very pleased with the way our previous situation was handled in the end and we look forward to having many more wonderful experiences at Wissota Chophouse in the future.

The attire was not business casual. People wore jeans and nothing you would wear to the office. The noise from the guys at the bar was somewhat loud. The waitress was GREAT. She was very attentive and had a personality.
I’ll begin by letting you know this restaurant has the highest prices of any I have visited in the Wisconsin Rapids/ Stevens Point area. My expectations for this price range are high as I regularly dine at similar places entertaining clients for work and other personal events. This night I purposely sought this price range looking for that service level. The food was very delicious. The presentation was average as there was little to no visual appeal. The server was pleasant and responsive, however, I would have expected to have extra attention by others filling water glasses and a visit from a captain. But it didn’t happen, so water glasses ran empty and no opportunity was offered to give feedback during the dining experience. Once again, for the price level the ambiance was lacking. I don’t recall ever not having table cloths in this price range. Some softness in the dining room would help with resonance that was more like a bar even in the partitioned dining area separate from the high tops near the bar.
Service is first rate. Nice surroundings. Steaks were perfect. Appetizers and peripheral dishes were four times as large as any two people could eat. Appreciated the gift dessert for our anniversary. Prices are big city and we will see if they are sustainable in this small town. Will return for very special occasions, like anniversaries.
We enjoyed ur dinner very much. Excellent food and service, but the prices are high--especially for Stevens Point.
It was my birthday and previously we had shared a great CRAB CAKE there (2 cakes full of crabmeat) there. We returned for an early dinner on a Friday night. Warmly greeted, we were seated at a nice 2-top along a short wall (which I like; a sense of privacy). No cocktails for us that evening, but the bartender, JoAnn, remembered us from our previous visit and came over to say hi.
The menu is Ala Carte. I ordered their version of Oysters Rockefeller which included 5 giant oysters served in their shell with some sautéed spinach and a Pernod sauce, which was delicious. A bread board was presented with three different slices from a locally-sourced bakery, Main Grain. A slab of white truffle butter was on the wooden serving board.
Entrees seemed to take a while, and they weren’t that busy. But, they made up for it (read to the end of this review for the frosting on the cake!). My husband ordered the Sea Scallops with an Orange Basil treatment. Grilled scallops, nicely browned in a seasoning, with a hint of orange flavor. He also ordered a side dish, Brussels Sprouts for Two, grilled with a touch of Parmesan. My entree was the Grilled Shrimp—five huge prawns grilled, were a bit salty. We took home half of the scallops, Brussels Sprouts, and four of my six prawns!
My suggestion would be to offer some side sauces for the Brussels Sprouts (maybe a curry/mayo?), and maybe for the Prawn dish (a lemony, white wine?), too.
Because it took a while for the entrees to show up, the waitstaff offered a dessert—carrot cake or chocolate cake. I selected the four layered chocolate cake (Birthday perfect, right?). We were astonished when she served us a giant wedge (that we are still enjoying at home!). Moist, delicious with layers of chocolate ganache and a drizzle of white chocolate danced over the wedge! To top it off, the entire crew that evening signed a birthday card!
Overall, a good crew to serve us a tasty meal. We’ll be back to try a steak or appetizer.
absolutely DELICIOUS steak flatbread. with Gruyere cheese And balsamic vinegar YUM. Calamari is delicious we could smell the restaurant throughout the Hotel hallways smelled absolutely amazing.

The food, service and atmosphere are wonderful. We try and have dinner there each time we ware in Stevens Point. The prices are reasonable and we always have a nice time
I had a wonderful experience at Wissota. I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was cooked to perfection.. Tasted amazing! The only downfall I'd say is that it was quite expensive... But deliciousness always comes at a price right? Lol

Some of the best food in the Stevens Point area. The atmosphere in the restaurant is low key and relaxed, and the restaurant is generally quiet with the exception of some patrons. I highly recommend the steaks at this restaurant, and the truffle Mac is some of the best Mac and Cheese I've ever experienced (and I've eaten a LOT of mac). The prices are a bit high for the meats, but it's incredibly good quality and made with love, so it's not hard to justify the price if you can afford it. 10/10 will go here again!
Hands down the best food in the Stevens Point area, wow! I highly recommend the Sea Bass. There are bonus food items for free as well!
Arrived early so we had a drink at the bar before dinner. Very good selection of craft beers. I had the aged ribeye which was cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor. My wife had the Chilean sea bass which was also cooked perfectly and she said it was the best she's ever had. We shared the mac and cheese which could have fed 3 or 4, and oysters rockefeller which were both very good. If I'm ever near another Wissota Chophouse, I'm definitely coming back.
I can’t say enough how exceptional all of our food was last night! Everything was cooked perfectly from calamari to dry aged steaks. Delicious!
