Great place. Location, food, service, environment were all amazing.
I've lived in Boston for 45 years and it was my first experience there and I totally LOVED it...
I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
Much better in all aspects since I was last there over a year ago.
The food at the Winthrop Arms Restaurant was fantastic! We ordered the Arms Chicken Wings; I had 2 Martinis and my girlfriend had ice tea (with a refill). For the entrée I ordered the Doc’s Chicken Pot Pie which was delicious with mashed potatoes. My girlfriend ordered the Seafood Trio which was also very good with a baked potato; but she wasn’t fussed about the sides. The waitress said you can get a salad (THIS IS IMPORTANT!); and a salad is what my girlfriend ordered. It took a while for the chicken wings and the entrees and salad to come because “they were backed up in the kitchen” as per the waitress. She also told us the drinks would be taken off the bill because it took so long to get our food. After the chicken wing appetizer came, our waitress brought the salad over-my girlfriend decided to take the salad home and put it in a takeout container. When the bill came, I noticed that I was charged $3.00 for the side salad and $2.00 for a refill on the ice tea! I called the waitress and she said she would remove the salad charge and adjust the bill. When she returned, she informed us that she couldn’t do that (oh, and especially after they had given me $20.00 worth of alcoholic drinks free). I asked to speak to the manager. Casey Goll (listed as the Operator of the family owned restaurant) came over and argued with us that the Seafood Trio only came with potato or even want to listen to anything we had to say!
Unprinted upcharges need to be made known NO MATTER WHAT THE WAITRESS TELLS YOU!!!!
Great time celebrating with a girlfriend on her birthday!
Lovely Hotel & Restaurant. Food unimpressive but great prices.
The food was delish, the service was great and everyone from the hostess to the bus person was so friendly
Excellent, but a noisy table near us was … well, just LOUD. But honestly, they were celebrating, so it’s cool. :)
Blackened pork chops are to die for
Great as always.
We had a lovely early dinner at the Arms on Sunday night. I had haddock caprese - delicious! My husband enjoyed the pork chop dinner -huge and also delicious. We treated ourselves to the apple crisp with ice cream for dessert. Highly recommend the Arms!
Good comfort food. Pot pie was delicious. Had strawberry shortcake for dessert and it was delicious.
The food was really good. The portions were huge and very fairly priced. I did not like the coconut shrimp appetizer though. It was not crispy enough and it was on the oily side. The seafood trio (haddock, shrimp and scallops) was amazing! The portion was huge! The temperature in the dining room was very stuffy. Not enough air circulation. Overall, a nice dining experience.
Food was Fantastic! We had French Onion Soup with Stuffed Mushrooms for appetizers. They were excellent! Lamb chops were to die for.
Had a great time with great people
We always enjoy the Winthrop Arms. Food is always great, reasonably priced and the service is prompt.
Excellent experience! I hadn't been there in a number of years. The food and service were outstanding! Looking forward to going back again soon.
Great food and drinks with amazing service will be back
Best combination of food and service around the city. I would give 6/5 stars. Incredible experience!
Service was excellent We had a nice quiet table in the back which was perfect as I had my elderly mother with me. Very nice evening

Absolute gem!! Old school Boston charm , best comfort food and excellent customer service. I got 4 Docs pies to go to give to some friends who are chicken pie lovers! Can’t wait to go back!!
Winthrop Arms is a warm and cozy dining experience. Best chicken pot pie, by far. Cocktails are delicious and the wait staff is fabulous.
You can't go wrong here! everything is outstanding
We enjoy the atmosphere it’s close by and the food is delicious. Great job on adding the tables to bar area.
Food is always very good. All of us had prime rib which was fabulous! After appetizers which were huge and plenty to share, the prime rib was amazing! The wait staff was friendly as usual. All in all, the Winthrop Arms is a great spot for a good meal and to be treated like family!
The food and drinks were delicious but it was very loud in there and we thought the tables were too close together where we were sitting.
Food was delicious, nice presentation and timely, wine was excellent especially the expresso martinis for dessert, definitely will go back
The Arms is a treasure
When we eat there we are at home
The staff and the food are first class all the way!
We eat at the Winthrop Arms frequently and I can say we have never had a bad meal. Food is always fantastic and the service is always excellent. Perfect for a date or a family dinner. I
Food was good no issues whatsoever with that. Waiter was a little bit slow husband ordered a beer while we were having appetizers, waited, and waited beer finally came out just before the entrée.
The Winthrop Arms never disappoints. Great food, good energy, immaculate, great staff.
Perfect evening of dining with our good friends!
The reason we return over and over. Excellent meal and value. Great neighborhood place.
