We had the High Tea as an anniversary celebration. As a coeliac I need Gluten Free, and I was blown away by the variety and amazing taste of the selection.
Belated Mothers Day high tea well worth waiting for. My 85 year old Mum thought it was divine. Highly recommend.
Value for money, delicious food and plenty of it. We spent an enjoyable couple of hours over High Tea. Highly recommended.
Excellent views from our window seat. Couldn’t reserve an actual seat - first in best dressed on the day. Comfortable, great atmosphere, we had both eastern & Wintergarden high teas. Wish we had booked in for the history tour of the property. An iconic destination to share with friends.
A lovely experience that both my mother and daughter enjoyed. The atmosphere and service were excellent. The food was very tasty and the view a bonus.
Beautiful room however your xmas decorations need some reconsideration!! Attentive wait staff. Consider the serving size against set pricing - red snapper was perfectly cooked but lonely on the plate.
Beautiful atmosphere for dining, and the service was efficient and friendly. The potatoes that we ordered as a side were undercooked inside. When you pay $55 for a main, you shouldn't have to pay for sides. My dessert was the meringue, but it was a heap of cream with a few chards of meringue and a few berries. Not acceptable. The meringue should have starred!
Enjoyed the experience of the high tea in such a stunning place. Our son enjoyed his first ever high tea as well
Having Coeliac’s disease this was a great option. Highly recommend the GF High Tea. Tea Blossom to top it off was delightful and elegant to watch bloom in the pot.
Will be coming back again with other guests
The perfect spot to celebrate our friends birthday. The room was majestic, the view breathtaking , the food delicious the sandwiches melted in your mouth. The service impeccable.
The menu which appears online and in-room sets a really high expectation, with exciting and well considered dishes described. The menu in restaurant is nothing like it. Not bad, but much less variety, more basic dishes and certainly not worth the fixed price being charged. Had we have seen this menu before booking, we wouldn’t have booked.
I had paté for entree, which if it wasn’t commercially made, it certainly wasn’t any better than what you’d get from the supermarket, and again, not worth the price. Beef brisket for mains was generous but un-exciting. Bland cut of pretty ordinary beef, with a side of undercooked and flavourless dauphinois potatoes. We also had “octopus hand” - or tentacle, which was tender, and duck which verged on dry. The food came out at a frightening pace, with about 3 minutes from entree plates collected to mains delivered. The wine list was actually good, with lots of regional wines at reasonable prices. The service was good.
We arrived and was seated fairly quickly. I thought that the seating along the window was a little close considering Covid 19. I would have liked to have some room between our chairs and the next tables chairs. We had a partial view and that was nice. Service staff were all polite and helpful. We had the Wintergarden High tea. We ate everything on the plate and left feeling comfortable.
Beautiful food with a STUNNING view with very attentive staff. Only downside was that I requested a window table, but part of our view was blocked by a pillar and there were other tables with better views available elsewhere when we arrived. Otherwise a really great experience.
Beautiful place, delicious food, great service and amazing views.
Great views. Food was lovely but a bit overpriced
Great view and service!
Delicious winter menu. Very good service and ambience.
Beautiful food & great service. Well worth every cent.
One of the worst hi-teas I have ever had. Was disappointed and the reviews were so good and we thought this hi-tea was going to be the highlight of our baby moon. But was so bad from the start. When we booked the hi-tea, we were asked if this was a celebration, and we provided information that it was our baby boon and would like a table by the window. Arrived at the restaurant and was told no table by the window and nothing special was done either (not sure what is the point in asking if it was a celebration??). But we were still patient and thought fine whatever and were just excited. Booking was for 1.45pm seating and we did not even get our tea served till 2.30pm. Had to ask several times. Service was so slow and poor. While waiting a few tables became free by the window and asked if we could switch as we have not been served. Waiter just told us unlikely and said that it was reserved. I am thinking.. well what about my reservation?? But still patient we waited to be served. Finally at 2.40 got the food only to realise everything was cold and looking like leftovers. We tried the Eastern and the Wintergarden sets. The Eastern one was meant to have crab claws, etc but we did not get any of that. But the worst is we were not even informed, instead they simply replaced them with 2 tiny crab cakes that were so rubbery. When asked the waiter, he said “ oh yea, we ran out of it, so it was replaced”! I almost lost it at this point. The worst ever Chinese food, the roasted pork bao was so hard and cold, the dumplings came in a bamboo steamer was so bad and cold!! I could have had way better Chinese food at a normal Chinese eatery!!! So disappointing! The whole Wintergarden set was equally bad, everything was cold, the sandwich was so dry and just filled with butter, the scones were alright. Overall, was the worst food we had at the blue mountains, service was so slow, so many tables waiting on food, and the nothing was fresh! Will never come back or recommend this place!
A lovely experience for our 32 nd Wedding Anniversary The place was full but the service was great .The food quality and quantity we're excellent. The pianist was exceptional and she played beautifully in the background so not to overwhelm the conversation .Very memorable and worth a return visit. Glad I booked ahead!
The food was underwhelming and a little disappointing for the price. I got served sandwiches that I couldn’t eat because of allergies even though I told the waitress. Our table was right at the end of the room with half of it covered by a wall. The place is beautiful but overpriced.
The view was great and so was the service but the food for the high tea was not worth it
Lovely high tea with spectacular view. Service was outstanding.
Venue was AMAZING with stunning views and beautifully decorated throughout.
The service from all staff was quite good, however it seemed a bit pricy overall for the standard of the food served.
It was an experience and not as expected. I was expecting traditional high tea experience but it was a bit confused. However it was a good experience.
We were extremely disappointed. The food was not good, there were problems with social distancing, people were showering in the female toilets downstairs and the dress code needs to be improved. Not a good experience.
A great outing, really enjoyed it. The building is amazing. We were seated by the window and under the air con so it was really chilly. But the views were beautiful.
Great place and the acoustics allowed me to converse easily. Highly recommend if visiting the mountains
Experience was fantastic, Staff very friendly and accommodating, food excellent and value for money.
The decor and architecture is wonderful and adds a vibe to the experience. The Christmas in July decorations were also beautiful.
The view is amazing. Most of the food was really good. A little overpriced, but you are paying for the experience and the view.
The food was disappointing as it is advertised as 2 Michelin star, it was no where near that, both of us did not eat all our meal. The staff were pleasant bot would not recommend this to our friends. It was my husbands birthday and as part of his present was a dinner here.
The view over the Megalong valley was stunning, the staff, service and food was fantastic.
Beautiful surroundings and view. Outstanding service
We had the two course menu which was very good. The Hydro Majestic was restored well and my wife and I enjoyed the evening.
Food was well presented & delicious. Service was excellent - discreet but attentive. Quantity sufficient to satisfy a real hunger.
What a magnificent view and we were very lucky with the weather! My husband and I had the Traditional High Tea that was served on a three-tiered silver stand. There were other options such as; an Asian High Tea, Gluten Free and Vegetarian High Tea. Every bit of what we had was delicious and was just enough. We left feeling not too full and yet not too sickly. We started with a glass of Sparkling and finished with two different types of tea. It took a little while to receive our teas. We had well and truly finished eating before our teas arrived. If we went to the Blue Mountains again and had time, we would definitely have a High Tea at the Hydro Majestic.
We had the Eastern High Tea but asked for the Western desserts. The chef was happy to provide this option for us. All the food was delicious but the highlights were the desserts and the pork belly tacos. A beautiful restaurant with a dedicated staff. Will come again!
Elegant ambience, exquisite High Tea and beautiful Staff
The high tea was divine. Catered for our dietary needs . It took awhile to arrive but was scrumptious so it was worth it. Loved how extra hot water came around to top up teapot
