   Lovely setting and received a warm welcome upon arrival. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing and generally there was no effort made to create a repore with our party. It was quiet in the restaurant so don’t believe it was due to anyone being overwhelmed. We weren’t asked for further beverages, coffee, tea or other for dessert. Food for the most part was good however a few items were cold but the majority of our group enjoyed there meals. We left without any appreciation for us choosing this restaurant and unfortunately will not recommend.

   I had my second weird experience at the Den at Nita Lake Lodge and felt compelled to review. Made a reservation a week in advance. Arrived to an empty restaurant, and was seated, not at one of several empty table enjoying the spectacular lake and mountain views but at the first table inside the transitioning restaurant/ lobby area so we could enjoy the I guess the ambience of people walking by? We asked if we could have a table with views to the lake. This resulted in an awkward standing in the middle of the restaurant while our host asked someone in the kitchen if it was ok for us to be seated in an empty table with views. This ultimately led to us being seated. By the end of our evening we remained the only group seated at a window seat in an otherwise sparsely populated room- ie our request did not displace other guests with reservations who might have been more important. Food was very good, and our server excellent- very sweet and professional. The previous time unfortunately was similar where we arrived to an empty restaurant without a reservation and were told we could not be accommodated without a reservation- which we were additionally told we couldn't do in person and had to do online. Right out of Twilight Zone. We left. The setting, food and restaurant servers are all great in our experiences. I'll probably go again at some point but I'd go more regularly if they acted like they appreciated my business, as opposed to feeling like we were somehow disrupting their plans.

   We SO enjoyed our dinner at the Den - beautiful view of the lake as we ate, quiet and intimate atmosphere, and the food was oustanding!

   We had a fantastic meal at Nita Lake Lodge's "The Den" last night. We opted for the tasting menu, which came with a. Amuse Bouche du jour, Tuna Tataki, spicy rigatoni, vegetable kofia, chocolate torte, and a lemon custard. Everything was super tasty and the service was phenomenal, which made for the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. We'll be back for sure next time we're in town.

   Overall service was too slow and infrequent. We left early after nearly 2 hours and no main course. Party of 4, 2 had small plates & 2 had main course only. Long after our friends finished their small plates our server comes to ask if we want more small plates or if we are ready for her to enter the main course. This statement shocked us as we were here over 1.5hr by now and 2 of us only had bread and wine and it seemed our plates were not in the kitchen yet?! We decided to cancel our main plates as it was getting too late for a heavy meal. The supervisor came out and tried to encourage us to stay even with the main plates compensated (after we asked to cancel them, so naturally we had no intentions of eating or paying for them). The awkwardness was at a high level that we wanted this to be done. The bill was for everything we ate/drank and we paid. However I wish there was more of a guest service offering for the poor experience we had while waiting at The Den as our bread or small plates were not offered compensated as gesture for their shortcoming of extremely slow service and lack of follow up at our table.

    We dined at the Den this evening and had a lovely experience. Our server was Aaron and we enjoyed his easy going personality and his menu suggestions were on point. We were celebrating my husbands 40th birthday and they definitely made him feel celebrated tonight. We will definitely come back next time we are in Whistler. Highly recommended the mushroom toast for a starter and the salmon and duck were excellent as well!
