Such a great restaurant with delicious food, excellent service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We were very sorry to hear that this was their last night for dining service. We still look forward to frequent visits to the wine shop!!
I have been a long time patron, and can say unequivocally that this is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. Each visit, I have had a consistently delicious dining experience.
I am sad to hear that WMB is officially closed! It was always a favorite for birthday dinners and date nights. They have a great, small menu and an awesome selection of wine at their store. We will definitely miss this spot.
LOVE wine market! Their food, wine, and service is always excellent!
Another awesome meal at the Wine Market Bistro. Sadly, they are closing.
Good food for a good price. The food was nothing to write home about, but was solid nontheless. Of note, the chicken liver mousse was AMAZING!! The staff was also very courteous and professional. It's a shame the bistro closed the week after we dined there.
Dinner was excellent. It will be sad to no longer have the Wine Market as an option in our city.
I have always loved this restaurant - the food is always fantastic and the wine selection is outstanding. I was very sorry to learn that it will be closing on 3/17. If you have a chance to go in its final week, do it - you will not regret it. Thank you to the owners, chefs and staff for many fine meals over the last several years.
Fantastic, as always!
From the greeting upon arrival, to the service provided, the wine selection and the food served...everything was amazing!
Had to wait for the table (had reservations) - they gave us a free round. Both bottles of wine we wanted were not available and we had to buy more expensive alternatives. Food was average. Ambiance was great. Very cool place.
We have dined at the Wine Market many times. This last visit in March 2018 was not good. My fish (Halibut) was overcooked and no one in our part of 4 was overwhelmed by their dishes. So disappointing. A few days after our visit it was announced the restaurant was closing. Can't help but think that the kitchen knew that.
Wine Market is one of the best places that Baltimore has to offer. Amazing food, great location, super friendly staff, an attached wine store, and free parking! It’s a crying shame that the Wine Market wasn’t more crowded on a weekday night. It is one of our favorite places for a night out in the city! A Saturday lunch service would be a great add for all the new SoBo residents in the new complexes.
We enjoyed the various courses. The service was a little slower than we would have liked. But overall a good experience.
The food was good as usual, the new york strip I had was 35-40% of fat and it was a 6oz serving. Valentines menu was nice, but I also wanted the choice of the regular menu and the portion sizes that come with it. Profit always has a way of making itself show up, it does not have to be done in sich a manner at such a classy establishment.
Fabulous brunch! Delicious Bloody Mary!
I go for the Incredible fried oysters! Had a Spicy cauliflower with peanut side dish that was really good. Love the mac & cheese with truffle oil. They never fail me. Consistency is where it’s at.
Food was very creative with numerous veggies in each dish. Unfortunately the flavors were all muddled together and unimpressive. Very chilly temperature at table. Had to wear my daughters down vest during dinner. Service was great. Price was a little on the higher side.
I've eaten here before and the food was really good. I wasn't impressed with the brunch offerings and likely ordered the wrong thing - I ended up not eating much of my meal. Overall, I still think The Wine Market is great, and I'd definitely eat there again, just not for brunch.
Great food. Good wine list, reasonably priced.
It's a unique place in that you enter and exit through a small but serviceable wine and spirits shop. Plenty of free parking available. Wine Market was one of the first fine restaurants to appear in re-purposed 19th century industrial buildings in Baltimore, and the space really suits me. Always great service and food.
Great brunch menu! We always enjoy dining at Wine Market Bistro and this time was no exception. The food is excellent and the ambiance is very relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
We both had a wonderful meal!!
This place is amazing. My fiancé is still talking about it being the best meal he ever had. We had to rush out of the restaurant as my fiancé faced a medical emergency and even through all of that the staff was extremely supportive and helpful. I've told everyone I know and we will continue to patronize this establishment for as long as it exists. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't visit this place.
This is the first time I have ever had a negative experience at the Wine Market. We aren't sure if it was because it was Baltimore restaurant week, but the food was not as expected and the service was lacking. The menu for restaurant week was different than what was offered that night. Our server was completely inattentive. He had a large table who was also servicing, but he definitely dropped the ball on us. We ordered wine flights, and our wine did not arrive until after we had received each course and finished them. He never checked to see how our food was, and we actually ended up taking the dessert to go because it took over 40 mins for him to come back between entree and dessert. I was disappointed because my friend and I were really looking forward to this dinner. We each ordered the Tuna "steak" and what we received were 4 very small pieces of tuna, that seemed almost like jerky. Not the tuna steak seared rare as stated on the menu.
Great choice for dinner with a friend!
Wine Bistro is a great place for a quiet dinner or to share a flight of wine and some appetizers. It is meant to be a leisurely time, so don't head there if you are in a hurry.
Very good food, as always. The short ribs were fork tender.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the scallop app during restaurant week but overall this restaurant is awesome. It was my second time dining here and it’s now my favorite restaurant in Baltimore. Lots of unique flavors and food pairings. Wonderful wine list. Would recommend for a date night!
Scallop crudo was not done properly. Do not recommend. Pana Cotta dessert was incredible, wine pairings were perfect.
My wife and I tried them out for restaurant week and everything about the meal was excellent. Easy reservations on open table. Service was great - the right amount of checking on us but never overbearing. I had the scallops/lobster and my wife got the beet salad as our first course. For our main dish, I got the braised short rib which was quite good - tender and juicy, with perfect seasoning. My wife got the trout which came with an egg salad type base - she liked hers as well. For dessert she for the bread pudding with ice cream which was good. I got the dark chocolate pave which came with a caramel tasting crunchy base - it was excellent, especially with some coffee. We'll definitely try them again. This is a place I'd highly recommend, especially for restaurant week. They didn't seem to skimp out on anything like other places tend to do for restaurant week.
Service was INCREDIBLY slow. My hash was delicious but my friend’s food came out cold and when they remade it they left out a key ingredient. We had to ask for beignets when other tables just got them brought out automatically. The beignets were also not nearly as light and fluffy as they have been in the past. The last couple times I have been there service has unfortunately been lackluster and the food hasn’t been as good. My lobster bisque on New Year’s Eve was full of shells and my pork belly was chewy as if they didn’t render off the fat. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore but unfortunately they have not been as wonderful lately.
Went to the Wine Market for brunch and was expecting to be blown away but a few of our entrees were lackluster. Not enough seasoning or a complete lack of flavor. Our waitress was great and the overall experience was good but I can’t get past the lack of seasoning on our food. Such a nice place should have a good chef to match or at least that’s what you’d expect as a patron. My 4-Star rating is because of the service and not the food.
Went for Restaurant Week, but would likely be inclined to go back another time, as it was a really good meal overall. Excellent three-course option for $35 for restaurant week, and was very satisfied with the service provided overall.
I love this place. It’s my fave in Baltimore City.
Amazing time with my boyfriend! Service was amazing as was the food- a la carte menu for New Years and desert that makes you want to cry tears of joy
New Year’s Eve
Very happy with the fixed course menu for NYE. Terrific value for all 4 courses. Rockfish was some of the best I've ever had. Wife was extremely impressed with the greens served with her beef. Very intrigued with the vegetable starter.....taste was good, texture a little out there with the gelatin.
Had a wonderful meal and time with my husband and good friends. Highly recommend
We have been to the Wine Market Cafe several times. The atmosphere is low key smart casual with the industrial rehab look. The server was well versed with the menu and so helpful. The food is excellent although the two vegetarians with us had to get creative as most of the entrees are not veggie. I had a steak salad that is always on the menu and just great—-my wife had a lamb burger with really good fries that I snarfed. My mother in law loved the arctic char that was a special —and she is the ultimate food critic........it was served with polenta. A few squash soups at the table looked good but maybe could have been a bit warmer—-the server quickly returned with a hotter bowl for one of us. The bread pudding dessert and a sorbet were also perfexr with the French press coffee served after dinner.
Sadly we are not wine proficient but the extensive list and the ability to buy wine bottles to go
Home at 15% off at the time of dinner is a real plus.
A really nice place to have a comfortable dinner with foodie type wonderful dinners at what seams like really moderate pricing.
Service was efficient and polite. Chicken breast and tile fish entrees were great. Olives and Brussel sprouts starters were a nice change. Because of the snow, the space was not as crowded as usual, so it was easy to converse. Free parking is another plus. Good wine selection, not so for beer . They only have craft beers, so you take your chances with brands you never heard of.
