The prime rib was lack luster. Not very flavorful. For a night devoted to prime rib it was disappointing. The service was slow as well especially since there were only about 5 tables to serve.
As always we had a great evening. This was a wine dinner and the food that went with each wine paired perfectly. Thank you!
Great dinner, and we loved the fact that the chef comes out and interacts with the guests. I have a lot of food allergies and they went out of their way and took great care of me. My food was amazing and I had no problems with it.
Somewhat disappointing dinner. Was really excited to try this place after seeing some great reviews (alongside some pretty bad reviews) because we need a great, non-chain, unique dining option in the Southlands area! The bread was good, the 2 appetizers we ordered (brie with fig and the calamari) were delicious and the chicken cordon bleu was great! But the other entrees ordered, specifically the vegetable lasagna with grilled shrimp and the duck, were very disappointing. The duck entrée did not look appealing and did not have the flavor promised in the menu. The lasagna was average, but the "grilled" shrimp looked like it was boiled rather than grilled with NO flavor. It was really nice to have the chef come out and ask how our dinner was and thank us for being there, and I wish my guests would have let him know about their entrees because I thought everything was to everyone's satisfaction.
If you have a chance to join the wine experience team for a wine dinner. Please do so… What an intimate wonderfully catered event… we had individual time with the wineries owners, we got to try some wonderful wine, so I’ve never even heard of… All paired with an excellent four course meal… What a great value! Cheers!!
The food was great and service was excellent! The place has the thickest cut bacon I have ever seen! The owner was great and friendly!
Amazing wine list And the cheese flights are perfect to pair with!
I loved the Wine Experience. We went with friends..and had a great time. The wine and cheese platter were excellent! While the waitress was very nice and accommodating, she was not very attentive. Considering it was not very busy while we were there, I felt like she could have presented the tasting with more information.
Nice place but a little pricey
Excellent food & service! Thanks for being in the neighborhood!!
As always the meal was perfect. The staff is great and work super hard to make the evening a great one.
This was my second time at the restaurant but first time for dinner. My husband and I had reservations for a date night. Our waitress was wonderful, service was outstanding. The food was just okay and definitely not worth the price. I ordered calamari which was pretty good. My entree was just the wine experience burger. It didn’t seem to be seasoned at all and the bacon that came so highly recommended was fatty. My husband ordered a salad with steak. The vinaigrette dressing had too much balsamic and therefore was highly acidic. The best part was dessert. The creme brûlée was very good. The menu is limited and it just isn’t worth its value.
We enjoyed a very attentive and professional staff. Friendly and eager to help. Food was delicious and enjoyed a nice glass of wine with the meal. We recommend!
We had a wonderful experience overall. Our waiter was incredible. When we arrived, we had to wait 10 minutes before we were greeted. When we said we had a reservation, we were told we would have to wait until some tables opened up. While we were waiting, the couple that had come in after us, were seated before us. Our initial impression was not good. But the food, wine, and young waiter from Ireland, turn our frown upside down!
It was a wonderful evening. The chicken cordon-blu was very good, as was the duck breast. Great wine selection as well. The restaurant was extremely busy, but that did not impact the service. Definitely will return again.
Food is definitely improving over the years - we both had different versions of fish that were good. Dessert (torte) was excellent.
Our first courses were delicious and creative, but our main courses were extremely disappointing. My husband's "ribeye" was a very thin slab of tough, gristly beef and not at all a ribeye. My osso buco was bland and the carrots served with it were awful. This meal was nowhere close to worth the money.
Wonderful as always. The food and wine are superb. It's an intimate restaurant where we always feel welcome.
I love this place! The food is always unique and delicious.
Wonderful food and wine
Wonderful wine and steak!
Excellent dinner, out for restaurant week. The Halibut on risotto was fantastic. My wife had Osso buco. We will be back
Very leisurely dining, well worth it. Small but intimate
Terrible experience. Went on Valentines day for a 6:30 reservation, and the service was extremely slow. Our entrees weren't served until 9:30 pm! To add insult to injury, I ordered scallops, and they brought me a lobster tail. After the long wait for our entrees, I just decided to keep the lobster tail. The manager came by and apologized, but instead of offering us a discount on our meals, he gave us a gift certificate to come back. I have no interest in going back, and nor should you. Very disappointing.
I brought my family and friends to the restaurant for my wife's birthday. The restaurant had a few tables going but I would not consider it busy. The service was slow. It took 15 minutes to order a drink and wine. Some of the food was considered "good" but we also had a few meals that were terrible. The short ribs dinner came out cold. The meat had either an old or freezer burnt smell. The pasta meal came out cold and had mushy overcooked noodles. I ordered a hamburger cooked medium. The burger came out about as raw as it could get. Our server then offered to have it cooked a little more. I kindly asked her to have the chef cook a new burger. I was hoping for a little better experience for the over $600 bill I paid which included a 20% tip that was non-negotiable. On a good note, the wine that was recommended was excellent.
Always enjoy the flights, wine and cheese. Delicious
Keith was a great server. Quiet afternoon for a girls lunch out!
Comfortable setting, great wine list, good food... check it out. :)
The service and food are always spot on. Also someone is always on hand to help with the correct wine. Eldon is a great host.
Overall beautiful quality of food and service. Very attentive and fast service.
Juan Carlos was our waiter, and was exceptionally knowledgeable about the wines and how to choose flights based on the food, and vice versa. We were there to celebrate an anniversary and were seated for almost three hours, but never felt rushed. We'll definitely be back.
As usual, Wine Experience did not disappoint! Great cuisine and ambiance on NYE. The chocolate peppermint bark cheese cake and lobster bisque were particularly phenomenal. You have a great dining/drink establishment Eldon. Keep up your fine work. Cheers!
New Years Eve!!! $89.00 way too much for quality and quantity of food!! $55 maybe
I was excited to spend new years eve here, the menu seemed to be fantastic although a bit pricey at $90 a person, but hey it was new years. We enjoyed the first course - goose liver and beef Carpaccio , the soup however was a disappointment. I thought lobster bisque would have at least one piece of lobster but it did not, it also had medicinal taste. My husband enjoyed his steak, I liked my veal shank. We ordered a bottle of wine, but discovered that it cost 23 dollars at the wine store in the restaurant - we paid 50 dollars for it at our table. I get that is where they make money but that is a bit steep. My husband enjoyed his dessert - the bread putting was very good, my cheesecake left a lot to be desired, I had one bite and pushed it away. It was flat and hard like it had been sitting out. Over all it was nice, but not worth the $300 price tag, for that kind of money I will head back to Del Friscos.
Lighting glare from retail half of store ruined potentially romantic booth. Table by window front was drafty. So was second table location from ceiling vent blowing down. Stemware was great. Mussels chewy and heavily sauced. Wish waitstaff would present themselves with a more confident posture. There was a visible coat closet, but it looked like a storage closet. No one offered to take our bulky coats. Kitchen crew yelling through service window when order ready. I didn’t know if this was a diner or fine dining experience. Didn’t like salad or burger. Food quality did not justify price point.
Honestly, the food was mediocre, the service had higher confidence than the food would merit, the wine prices (both in the restaurant and at the store) were absurd. Don’t bother.
Everything was overpriced and I had a miserable birthday dinner. Food was average and noise level abominable. Restaurant had a social sales pitch dinner starting at our arrival. They should have closed restaurant for evening. Minimal amount of overpriced food.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner, both of us had just got into town. Party of four; two kids. Both the kids really enjoyed the meal, which is saying something. I had the world wine flight; outstanding. The turkey dinner was really tasty; the turkey was perfect!
