My friend and I arrived for lunch and a lite bite and glass of wine on a Sunday. We ordered three items from the appetizer menu assuming this would satisfy with a lite lunch. Our waiter was very attentive, the atmosphere quiet and peaceful. The appetizers presented to us was more than we could eat in one sitting and had to take home the leftovers. Taking home The leftovers was also satisfying as we were excited to have eaten what we ordered a second time. Each of the three items reordered for fabulous.
We are excited to return for a full entree for our next visit. Would highly recommend dining here.
The prix fixe menu for Easter Brunch was awesome! Small tastes to lead up to the main event - I had the scallops and my husband had the Eggs Benedict. Ended with dessert (creme brulee and cheesecake), both very tasty. The wine was exceptional - Catena Malbec from Argentina (2017)! So glad this restaurant has managed to withstand the effects of COVID - looking forward to returning in the future.
This is the 4th time we have visited Wine Experience. On our first visit we had wine flights and a cheese tray and it was wonderful. On all 3 of the following visits, we had meals (dinner twice and a recent brunch). The food is always wonderful, but the wait for the entree on all 3 of our most recent visits has been ridiculously long. For our recent brunch, we were at the restaurant for more than 3 hours. On another occasion we had tickets for a show and had to leave and then come back to finish our meal! I have been mindful of the difficulties that restaurants are having due to covid, but our experience has been consistent and disappointing each time. Unfortunately, we will not be going back.
We highly recommend the Halibut and Risotto special. We have tried it numerous times and it never disappoints. The food and service is fantastic.
The wine was great, the food was ok at best, the server seemed to be inconvenienced by customers, and the assistant server was confused with life and talked in circles. Zero desire to return.
Super cute little winery. I took my mom here when she visited we had a great time. There were lots of good wine selection and regular bar options as well.
The charcuterie was so delicious but it needed cheese.
The baked brie was like heaven.
I'll definitely go back to this place.
Wonderful experience! The cocktails were perfectly made, the bread was fresh, great service, tasty pizza and appetizers. We will return!
Alex was fantastic and the food was perfect.
They were having a speak easy and it was our anniversary.
Wonderful place to dine definitely recommended great vibe
Great Local place with great wines and excellent choices.
Such a great time! The servers were so knowledgeable and kind, the owner came and checked in as well! I would 100% recommend!
Until yesterday, I would have given 5 stars. After 2 hours of great conversation and patiently waiting for our food, Eldon, the OWNER of the restaurant came to our table and yelled at my wife after only asking about the status of our dinner. As if there was a lot of built up frustration being taken out, because my wife and I were both confused and shocked. He made my wife feel so bad and embarrassed that she started crying. I couldn't believe the behavior I was seeing in front of me, from a restaurant manager, or a human being in general, last night. That is NOT an ok response. Let me expand.
Eldon, not the staff, is the reason my wife and I will never return to Wine Experience Cafe.
We came to Wine Experience Cafe for dinner on her birthday for the last 3 years. Yesterday, after 2 hours, we realized that we were starving, and we asked our server (who was so great all night, even if there were delays out of his control) if he had an idea how much longer it might be. He asked the owner, Eldon, to come over, who surprises my wife and I when he not only went off on my wife and I in the middle of the restaurant on her birthday for asking if the food was coming soon, as if it was an unreasonable question after 2 hours of patiently waiting. Rather than a simple explanation or small apology which would have been just fine, he started pointing out how busy they were, which my wife and I completely understood, then he continued to yell, causing a scene, making my wife cry even more on her birthday, and didn't let us talk. Eldon then started to make us feel guilty, justifying his unwarranted behavior by telling us his business lost $160k because of COVID. Many business suffered unfortunately and "That's why we're here supporting your local business", but still I've never been treated so disrespectfully by the OWNER of a restaurant. He then told us to leave. We were both confused and so upset.
Eldon, be professional. Be respectful. Don't yell at your customers.
Just ok... was drunk girl nite, super annoying. Nothing was stand out: service, food, ambience etc... overpriced for the experience. Wine was good tho.
Our favorite restaurant! Eldon and his staff are the best! Very personable. Food is delicious!
Food was great. Loved our wines.
In the days of COVID, dining out with friends is difficult. Everyone must take safety precautions, we have to carefully get the restaurant to make sure that everyone in the group feels safe about heading there.
Wine Experience Cafe ticked all the boxes in terms of safety. They even had a little cutesy sign that stated “please keep your mask on when not seated, our employees depend on it” or something like that. It is nice seeing that the restaurant values its employees health and not just a bottom dollar.
Onto the actual restaurant experience. They were having a restaurant week promotion. Obviously the cities here didn’t have restaurant week due to the virus. This place had decided to give us all a little slice of normalcy. Three course meal for a good price to come and experience what they had to offer. All listed items sounded fantastic, but I am a sucker for any type of seafood bisque. They had a crab bisque for an app, I ordered a tenderloin that they also advertised, and a chocolate cake for the dessert.
The crab bisque was delightful. It was the right amount of creamy, wasn’t dense, had the beautiful aroma that any great seafood should have, and wasn’t heavy on the stomach.
The tenderloin was served with some puréed potatoes, and a hollandaise sauce on top. The steak was cooked perfectly for me, my preference is medium rare with a leniency towards rare as I would rather have a slightly undercooked steak than a overcooked steak. The potato purée, divine. You could see that it was made in-house as there were small bits of potato skin. I’m a sucker for whole potatoes in recipes.
The chocolate cake, was gluten free, was also amazing. It was moist without being too soft, the chocolate balanced out nicely with the little bit of caramel that was drizzled over the top. It was something that you could continually take bites out of and not feel like it was ever too sweet.
Go with the bartender’s choice for drinks. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
Good food and overall experience. Will definitely come back.
Excellent service and excellent food!
We had a reservation for 7:30 and didn’t get seated until 8:00. It was below zero temperature outside and they corralled everyone at the front door with no host to explain why we had to wait so long to be seated. We learned that they were flipping all the tables at once and were behind. Not impressed with the service for the cost.
Went there for their Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was excellent. They had large portions and most customers, including us, left with multiple doggy bags. The available wine flights were good, but not excellent; especially for the price. Our recommendation would be to just order a bottle of wine, which I think would be excellent choice. Their service struggled at times, though they were very busy. But for the price we paid for dinner, we would expect service to be top notch. Our entrees came out about 5 minutes apart, wine flights were not on-time, appetizer plates were not given at first, etc. When the servers did come to our table, they were friendly and helpful.
The wine is the highlight here. The food was ok, not great but not horrible. It seems that they are possibly in the beginning stages of a restaurant. The service staff was extremely nice and well informed. The wine list paired very well with the menu for the night. Here’s where the problems start...
The wine was supposed to come out with the courses, it did not. Got first wine after the first course then they skipped ahead to the fourth wine (entree) totally missing the second and third wines. Once made aware of the mistake, they quickly corrected it and everything was on pace the rest of the night.
Now the food. I am very certain we missed the caviar on the first course. It was never brought out. The meal itself was ok. The best part of the meal was the Lobster Bisque. The Wagyu steak was a different cut and very bristly. It was cooked perfectly but it was very thin and definitely not a ribeye, possibly not even a sirloin.
The dinner was not necessarily worth what we paid for it. That being said, I can respect them for stepping out and attempting a big menu for a special occasion. The service is great. The wine is great. The concept is great. Just lacking the execution and menu. If you are going to put items on a menu, execute them flawlessly.
My first impression was someone should clear the snow from the stairs at the entrance! The service was ok but did not come around to ask if everything was ok. It was not, my chicken was mostly dry like was from the night before. Then the prices were way out of line for what we had to eat.
We have dined here several times and the experience always meets our expectations for fine dining and exceptional pairings. The owner and staff are always friendly and helpful and we are proud to be repeat customers.
Great service and a great experience!
Loved the new seating area! Food was wonderful as usual
Excellent wine and exceptional food. Chef Larry came over to us when he got a break and we were able to tell him how much we enjoyed everything! This was our first time here and we will be returning. Quiet, romantic and a fabulous experience!
Everything about Wine Experience was great! Service did not disappoint, the vibe in the restaurant was relaxing and elegant. Wine was delicious and so was the food. If I were to say one thing that is worth a “complaint” is the portion sizes of the food you receive for how much you’re paying. Granted we expected to pay a bit extra for our dinner/drinks but to some it may be off putting. But overall, we loved it!!
Nice wine selection plus other drink options
Food is great with lots of wonderful choices
REALLY wanted to like this place...but absolutely did not! Not sure where they took us, but NOT a nice atmosphere for a pricey dinner. (Over $200 for 2 people) We had to walk outside the building to another part of the building that was not nice. We were sat at a tiny table for 2 and the plates and glasses wouldn't even fit that we had to consolidate plates and put stuff on a side ledge. The food was average for what it was priced. The menu was written well, just poorly executed. I appreciate that they use a team concept for taking care of people, but they need to communicate to one another. We received duplicate requests just minutes apart and when we did order a second drink, it took over 10 minutes. It was very loud in the place that we had a hard time hearing one another sitting right across from each other. We love good food (and willing to pay for it) and great places...but this place failed on all fronts. But, they must be doing well as they had sold out of the fresh fish of the day by 6:00 PM. But, suggesting the fried fish and chips as an alternative really isn't the same.
Not worth the value at all. The cheese plate looks like a disaster, and they didn’t even tell us what wines we were drinking.
It would be nice to have a list of wines and what region they come from. Or some descriptions as to what you will be tasting. The ambience is lacking and there was only one server for 5 tables.
Been here many times before for their wine experience’s but the in person dining this time missed the mark. Prime rib was disappointing at best, sides were underwhelming. Perhaps it was just a fluke due to COVID limitations, hope so,
As always, we enjoyed our evening. The food was awesome, the staff is the best, and the ambiance is great for a nice evening with friends. They work very hard at keeping everyone safe- tables socially distanced apart and all staff wearing masks. We love Wine Experience Cafe!
They seated us in a mcalisters deli and serves us bland food off the sysco truck.
Enjoyed my evening with my husband but the service left something to be desired. The staff was less than attentive, and seemed uninterested in providing a welcoming atmosphere. The food and wine where delicious and for that reason I recommend this place.
Great as always . Service , Food value. Could not ask for more. Going back.......................................
Super cute tasting room with amazing wine and food! Will definitely be back!
Very good experience. Steak was not as ordered but they corrected the mistake.
We were seated in their new area (area they took over from a prior deli which had closed). The atmosphere and ambience in this new space was not up to standards. The lighting was too bright, decor just so-so and the music was a little loud. Food and service were good, however we were very surprised that a "wine destination" did not have their bottled wine selections available on a wine menu (they said due to covid) or even a scannable QR code for their wine list. Only their wines by the glass (along with the bottle price for these selections) were avaibable on a menu. I was looking to try a red wine flight, but could not find one that peaked my interest. Overall, we did have a good meal and enjoyed ourselves, but was not quite the experience we were hoping for or expecting.
