Wine Cellar Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We were very disappointed by the quality of the service. When we arrived I let the hostess know that we were there for my daughter’s bday & ordered a tiramisu to be brought at the end of our meal. The dessert never arrived and then our check appeared. I left our table to inquire and the response of the hostess was dismissive and unapologetic. The fondu & calamari appetizers were good, but due to the poor service our family will never be returning.
First time with my husband and daughter. Wonderful cocktails and great wine list . Appetizers were creative and delicious . We had the duck, braised ribs and tortellini dishes; fresh ingredients and wonderful sauces!
We were full but had to try dessert so we shared a mixed berry puff pastry.
We enjoyed this so much and can’t wait to come back and bring more family
This restaurant had amazing food. My husband had the abalone, which was well worth the price and I had halibut. They were both prepared perfectly. It was lovely sitting outside. The only negative was the waiter was not the most friendly. I would have expected better service at a nice restaurant.
Wide selection of drinks and appetizers. The fondue, for what they’re known, is really good, but filling, so be careful. We didn’t really care for the dessert we ordered, but that didn’t ruin our evening.
The service was pretty bad as the place was packed and the servers were overworked. It took 20 minutes to order a second drink.
Always a top notch, go to place for us. We have never been disappointed. Wonderful staff that make you feel very special. They know who you are and will cater to any special requests. Food is consistently delicious. Highly recommend all the salads, cheese fondue and the entrees are all perfectly prepared....whether it be their fabulous salmon, chops or steak. The outdoor patio is a perfect spot to share a relaxing meal as you look at the quaint town of Los Gatos and the lush mountains that surround it. Parking may be a problem at lunch time so give yourself enough time. Brunch is always a treat with a fruit and pastry buffet as a delightful addition. This restaurant is family owned and each patron is treated with the utmost attention to their needs and desires. Wine Cellar is a gem.
Really great food but portions are WAY too big. Entrees are therefore expensive and actually lessens the chance that anyone will try a soup, salad, entree, or dessert. I would have loved to have a small salad, a smallish main, dessert and coffee ... but no. Not at these portion sizes or at these prices.
Nice ambiance and great patio dining for lunch or a warm evening though!
The wine cellar restaurant is one of my family's favorite places to eat - the fondue for appetizer or dessert really good: great salads and fish and chips two if our favorites are the ahi tuna tartare and the fondue-- STAFF ALWAYS WELCOMING AND ATTENTIVE TO OUR NEEDS
we were on ourway to a great concert the maverick at the mtn winery every bite was delicious our waiter was awesome I think his name was eddie? I let him know we were pressed for time and the service was matched our desires. everything about your place was excellent. Amber
I was seeking a fine dining experience for a special occasion. Unfortunately, this was not the place for me. I had never been here before and based my expectations on the reviews and menu and miscalculated. Portions were large and the food was much more comfort oriented than refined. The wait staff service were decent, however, we could hear the kitchen staff voices easily and their conversations were crude and inappropriate although somewhat amusing. I had the abalone which was disappointing since all I could taste was the fried batter. Portions were huge and it seemed like everything came with brocollni as a side dish. I ordered on open table and noted it was a birthday event but it seemed to not matter and although the table next received a birthday acknowledgment, we did not. Overall, it was disappointing dinner for the occasion and not what I was looking for that night. Great place if you are hungry and looking for large portions and comfort foods in a semi casual setting, however.
I've been to the Wine Cellar many times over the years and the service is always good. On this visit the server was someone I know how worked there a long time yet he lacked attentiveness and focus. He even brought us the wrong bill at the end. I know mistakes happen but it wasn't a mistake that he rarely checked in and was sarcastic when we didn't like the drinks and ordered something else (we paid for the drinks we didn't like as to not be difficult).
One of our favorite places to eat. There is a great atmosphere, excellent food with a huge diversity of options for everyone. Service is outstanding, always friendly and accommodating. We brought a friend visiting from Germany last night and she was wowed by the whole experience.
