Wonderful experience. The service was fabulous and the food amazing. We sat outside. It was beautiful.
Excellent food and service! One of our favorite places.
The Wine Cellar is usually one of my favorite restaurants, however our service today was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Our server came quickly to take our drink order & then virtually ignored us. We waited over 30 minutes for her to come take our order & could never even flag her down. It was if she had tunnel vision! I finally got up & complained to the hostess, where another server promptly took over & came to take our order. I then had to flag someone else to get bread. Our server came by about 10 minutes later with no apology & seemed unconcerned that another server had to take our order. Our meal was delicious as always, but the service ruined the experience.
As always, The Wine Cellar didn't disappoint! Great meal, never felt pushed to leave. Consistently good, good food.
Fabulous food and service. Our sons loved it too.
Thank you for our birthday celebration
We sat "in the wine cellar" (vs patio).
Friendly and attentive staff
Will visit again.
Although parking is a real challenge.
Very good ahi tuna as usual. Wish they had a better system for reserving patio tables and if you are lucky enough to eat on the patio, an easier way to check in for an Open Table reservation. I had to check in for my reservation inside the restaurant, and I only did that because the front desk is near the bathroom.
The last time I had lunch here and ate on the patio I was never checked in for my OT reservation (despite my asking the waiter and his assurance that I’d been checked in properly) and had to follow up with Open Table since OT felt I had not shown up. a better system would be an improvement for The Wine Cellar.
Our dinner experience was terrible. We sat on the patio and the server took our order within a few minutes. It took 40 minutes to get our entrees, and only because my husband flagged down the server. I think the server would have continued to ignore us if we hadn’t gotten his attention. Our calamari starter never even came out. Our server tried offering the starter with our entrees but it should have been brought out before the entrees. Our server apologized and admitted that it was his fault because he forgot but only offered to comp us dessert, which we declined because we didn’t want to stay at the restaurant any longer. We paid $86 (not including tip) for terrible service and mediocre food. Our toddler was home with Nana and this was supposed to be our date night, which we rarely get. I’m also pregnant and was uncomfortably hungry by the time we got our food. If I had thought of it, I would have asked to speak with a manager because I think the situation was handled poorly by our server. We will not be back to the Wine Cellar.
The Wine Cellar is my FAVORITE Los Gatos restaurant. I love the patio + the indoor restaurant. But when you are on the patio on a beautiful LG evening, nothing could be finer. The waiters are longstanding and personable. The food is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is superb and relaxed.
Wonderful customer experience; amazing food; great ambience. I will visit again and again!
Wonderful as always!❤️😘❤️
The service was good, we were late but they accommodated us. It was an enjoyable experience
One of our favorites - wish I would remember to always go through OpenTable. Went 3 times this month but 2 without reservations.
Nice outdoor dinning which was enjoyable for the lunch time
My girlfriends and I came in for drinks and dinner. We had a great time. The waiter was very attentive, food and drinks were excellent. Every time we come to the Wine Cellar it is a very pleasant experience! Keep up the great work!
The Wine Cellar is our go to summer place where we can sit outside and enjoy good food and drink. The staff is always attentive and well versed in the menu. There is always lighter faire for those who wish it, or for those who like myself go deeper into the steak arena they have everyone covered. The Fondue is always a good starter and the French Onion Soup is always great.
We love the Wine Cellar, especially on a warm summer day when we can sit outside for lunch. They have a varied menu, with delicious salads and sandwiches, as well as entree dishes. A full bar and some yummy desserts round out the menu. Our server was pleasant, and our water glasses were kept full and our dishes were cleared promptly by the bus boy.
This is an excellent place to have a quiet Sunday Brunch. Food is excellent. You can dine inside or al fresco.
We ate outside so low noise. Food was superb and wonderfully presented. Our server was extraordinary, friendly, courteous, and helpful. Kept an eye on us without hovering. Overall very pleased with the evening.
We will be back for holiday party with our car club. Looking forward to it.
This is a Los Gatos mainstay, a must visit. Old world charm, great food and service. Nice outdoor seating area or inside for cooler dining. Always fun to have Tim as our server.
Excellent place to dine
Could not have been better! Food excellent, service excellent, ambience wonderful!
I booked this reservation one week prior to my friend's bd reservation. I requested outside patio seating and stated it was a birthday celebration, I dropped my friends off so I could park. The reservation was for four. The table was set for three only. My friends advised me that they advised the person taking seating the name of the reservation. The person did not bother looking at it and gave them two choices to sit. Really? I went up to the station where the hostes finally was and advised her the name of the reservation, it was a party of four, and a birthday. She checked off the reservation. The server at our table did not pay much attention since he was busy socializing by sitting with friends at another table. Really? No one came to us when we were all seated for drinks (other than water), ordered our soups advising him that we were going to order our entrees after soup.....he came back thinking we were done with dinner. No, we had told we were going to order after the soup. Entrees cam they were excellant; although, one was lukewarm, but my friend did not want to return since it was warm in the middle. When we were don , he asked if we wanted desert....let's see it was booked as bd , the hostess was reminded, and now he asks this? I gave him the evil eye and mouthed bd so bd person would not see and he came back with small sundae. He presented the bill. He was adivsed how to split the cards and diffence for tip. He said that was against policy. Really? One of my friends was not amused. He did do what was requested, but not pleased. I thinke the Wine Cellar has great food and ambiance is too, but the service that night was unacceptable. I hope the management reads this so they can improve . It was a special evening and none the staff made any effort for the bd person and friends.
Outstanding, consistently excellent restaurant for lots of years!
I made a reservation for an outside table and was told when I checked in that the wait would be 30 minutes. Why allow someone to make a reservation if it's not going to be honored? We ended up sitting downstairs which is a loud echo-y setting, and I couldn't have been more disappointed by the experience.
It was great. We went for Sunday Brunch. It was very casual and relaxing. The food was great and the server was outstanding. He didn't try to rush us and was attentive to our needs. What more could you ask for?
Overall, it was a lovely afternoon!
Very nice to eat al fresco. Summer at it’s best. Food was entirely decent and our waiter was appropriately attentive.
Wonderful! The food was great, service was nice, overall we had a great experience. We will be back!
Most amazing restaurant ever. 10/10 and I absolutely loved it.
Service at the bar was excellent and The abalone is to die for. Pair it with a selection from the good wine menu and you're set!
Easily one of our favorite restaurants in Los Gatos. It never disappoints!!!
Our entrees were good. The French onion soup was very salty as was the steak with pepper sauce.
Love the variety of the menu. There is something for everyone.
Very nice dinner and reasonably priced. We ate out doors on the patio. Service was professional an competent. WE shared heirloom tomato salad that was good. I had the stuffed pork chop that was delicious and my wife the beef ribs. We were both very satisfied by the preparation. We each took a container home for a delicious lunch of left overs. I would go back and do recommend it.
Food and ambiance was excellent - server was prompt and polite
We always love the outdoor patio at the Wine Cellar on warm evenings. One of my favorite places for early dinners in Los Gatos.
Although I have had a 5 star experience there in the past, this time, not so much. Our server (same as last time) got several things very wrong, including dinner order and cocktails. He just wasn't listening.
Then, When I asked to take half my dinner home, the guy who packaged it left off the delicious sauce. So basically I got half a piece of salmon and white rice, with all the great flavor missing. Overall, this was not a good experience and it'll be a while before we go back.
I love the Wine Cellar. The menu offers so much diversity and wonderful choices. Our server Garfield was personable and efficient.
I love the Wine Cellar!
Excellent food and service as usual!
