Love the restaurant
We really love this restaurant and what it has to offer. An extensive wine list and the abalone is amazing!
Haven't been there in awhile but great food drinks and service as always!
We ladies had a great time. We even closed the place down! They really went the extra mile to make me feel special on my birthday. I loved the cheese fondue appetizer and chocolate fondue dessert. So yummy.
Had a great dinner with my girlfriend on a Wednesday evening. This was her first time eating at The Wine Cellar, I’ve been enjoying dinners there for over 20 years. I have never had one bad meal there. Always great tasting, wonderful service, love the ambiance and their prices are reasonable for the great quality of food they serve. I also enjoy their cocktails and wine selections. My girlfriend absolutely loved it. She wanted to try the cheese fondue, we had a few started plates because we wanted to also enjoy the chocolate fondue for desert. And can I just add, I love their bread! Love this place❣️
A friend and I went for lunch to get "caught up" on what has been happening in our lives. We arrived at 11:30 am and didn't leave until almost 2:30 pm. We had the BEST waiter who serviced us well and didn't make us feel pressured to leave because he wanted to turn the table.
Wine Cellar is a charming, romantic restaurant in a lovely downtown Los Gatos location. It is underground and has the feel of a European Cellar restaurant. The food is superb with a variety of delicious dishes, including cheese and dessert fondue. The restaurant also has lovely outdoor seating during the summer months. I would highly recommend it for special occasions.
food is very tasty and delirious, fillet minion is the best i've ever eaten
Excellent!
Jay at the bar is amazing. He is one in a million. We also got the privilege to meet the Chef, his food is cooked perfect and tasted amazing. We definitely will be back!
Great service from Trent and food was awesome, as expected.
We always going to the Wine Cellar. The menu and specials change often, when the weather is perfect, sit outside if available. We had Tim as our server and he is always fun at table side. We shared the halibut-it was devine.
Food is always great, the service is excellent and the wine is lovely
Garfield, our waiter, was very attentive and great. The experience was super from beginning to end. Thanks.
Greaat food. Super cheese fondue. Attentive service.
I love this place. Consistent repeatable and great portion size (for hubby)
My favorite (read: only thing I ever get ) is seared ahi with jasmine rice and book choy!
Birthday dinner for a friend
Whole experience seemed "off" this time. Food was not as good, child's meal chicken strips were totally overcooked and dry. Stuffed pepper was not cooked through so that the pepper itself was not tender. Ordered a main course salad and after waiting for at least 20 minutes after the first three courses had been served. I contacted to tell the waiter we no longer had time to wait for the salad. He said he was spacing out all the dishes which was news to us as the first three dishes came fairly quickly and close together. I said we really didn't want it as we had to leave. Then it was brought to out table and suggested that we have it to go. which we felt forced to do. Have been here many times and everything was always great which makes us drive the 35 miles each way. Our bill is always at least $100 for two adults and sometime a 2 yr old toddler and I always tip more than 20%. Disappointed.
Good food and they brought dessert to my friend for her birthday. Perfectly cooked Salmon
We dine in Los Gatos often but this was our first time to the Wine Cellar and we enjoyed our meal. We will be back.
My husband and I had yet another excellent dining experience at the Wine Cellar. Thank you Moises for your outstanding service.
Went there for Sunday Brunch twice this month. Great food, everything we tried was good. The abalone and lamb lollipop appetizers were outstanding. Raviolis were great, Chicken Picatta was great and I had an awesome Breakfast Burrito. The complimentary brunch pastry and fruit bar was very nice with great local pastries and very fresh seasonal fruit. One of the best brunches we've had in the South Bay area.
Been here several times. Fondue is excellent. So, is Ahi Tuna. A bit noisy but still worth going too.
This was my 2nd time here and both times were AWESOME! The food is so delicious, and the service is great. I love this place and will return.
This is our second time to this restaurant and it was fabulous. The food was great, but I prefer going in the summer when you can sit outside as it was loud and felt very small inside.
Waiter, food and services was amazing. When the table next to us showed up, all I could here was them. Waiter made great recommendations.
First time this weekend to the Cellar and what a disappointment.
It was recommended by a friend (we will never take her advice again!) My partner and i went for the seafood specials, she had the Mahi Mahi, I had the Abelone ($63). I was surprised when the meals arrived < 10 minutes after ordering (always a bad sign). The Abelone was like a pancake and had been destroyed and was on a bed of rice (enough for 4), it was very bland. My partners fish was properly cooked, but again the presentation and portion sizes are wrong.
It is more comfort food with fine dining prices. If you care more about quantity than quality, then maybe this place is for you.
Absolutely amazing food, drinks and service! We're sure to come back - we we're here to celebrate birthdays and will be back for many more
Good food and excellent service in a nice atmosphere. What more do you need?
We have been coming to Wine Cellar for a number of years and are never disappointed. Food is always great and in large portions, one of the best bars in town, and the service is really excellent. Everyone is great here but we always ask for Moses when we dine in the evenings. Such a sweet attentive waiter who always remembers you when you come back, even for your second visit.
Favorites are the Ahi Tartare appetizer, the salmon entree, short ribs, so many other things... and for dessert the warm mixed berry puff pastry. But we haven’t scratched the surface. Great location. Great food. Hard to beat for the price and flavors. A classic Los Gatos venue.
We were a party of 5. (3) tall men and (2) women for a 12:30 reservation to celebrate my Mother's 89th birthday. We were seated in a booth in the farthest point in the restaurant. This booth did not accommodate five people, more like four to be comfortable. The five of us were squished in this booth! When I asked the hostess if we could have a different table I was rudely told "you can but it's going to be a very long wait". I then asked our waiter if we could have a different table (he agreed that our table was too small) he said he would check. I saw a table for four that was open and asked if someone would be willing to sit on the end could we have that one and the hostess (again rudely) said "well, that will be okay but you have to be done by 2:00". I said that should be fine. It was only 12:45. We ordered our meals and they came, however the three of us that ordered the eggs benedict had cold eggs benedict. The other two meals were just fair.
To top things off, after my Mother opened her birthday gifts, the hostess came to our table and asked if we could move somewhere else (pointed to the bar) because they needed to get their tables ready for a party of 14 and they were already arriving. I checked my watch and it was 1:50.
We felt we were not treated with respect from the beginning. Getting seated in such a small booth for five and the hostess didn't seem to care or want to accommodate us. And, we all felt we got "kicked out" of the restaurant. And, the food was sub-par!
We won't be back and we will make sure all of our family and friends know about this experience.
Had the Eggs Benedict for brunch sunday morning. Very good meal as well as the idea of going to a pastry table and fresh fruit table while waiting for your food to arrive. Price was not bad either. Atmosphere was a little too noisy , that because we were underground in a wine cellar. All in all , a very good place for sunday brunch.
Moses was a terrific waiter Nd the food was great
Wonderful food, the shrimp and avocado salad is delicious! The servers were friendly and attentive.
Very poor service--waiter seemed attentive to another table who was offering him some of their wine...waited a long time for dessert and coffee menus because he was busy chatting with other tables.
My husband ordered a Bombay Sapphire martini ....and my husband knows his gins....and what he got was a martini with cheap gin, not Bombay Sapphire, an dbarely drinkable. Shame on you.
Food is always delicious. Specialty cocktails also very good. The outside patio very welcoming and great spot for people watching.
The Wine Cellar is downstairs in Old Town Los Gatos and I really didn't even know it was there and a restaurant. It is a smaller place, but we didn't notice the noise being any louder or different than most places. Food was AMAZING! We had the Cheese Fondue appetizer which was really good and so much fun, our dinners were each really good and dessert was shared - also amazing. Service is really good there and the waiter knew what to suggest for sure. I would definitely recommend this place again to anyone looking for a special occasion, date night, different place to go.
Always great service& food. Best restaurant in the Bay Area.
Our annual Valentines luncheon as well as a favorite anniversary dinner place. Meals are creative, delicious, and with generous portion size. Wonderful service this time with Trenton as well!
