Wine Cellar Restaurant
Food is good a little noisy but dining outside on a nice day is recommended..
We enjoyed an evening dinner out on the patio. The weather was great and the food matched the weather. Had the swordfish and shrimp, which was very delicious. My wife had the Chinese Chicken Salad, that was very good. A nice selection of wines and the Bananas dessert was a nice topper. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. Overall a very nice dinner in a very nice setting.
This restaurant consistently knocks it our of the park. We’re never ever disappointed. I’m always excited to see their fish specials. It’s amazing how they prepare their fish with the different sauces, etc. It’s now my favorite place for fish.
Moses is best waiter in Los Gatos!
Patio is great in the evening. Interesting crispy crab cakes. Salmon was outstanding.
Perfect place to enjoy a summer lunch or dinner with friends! Love their patio and ability to talk and hear. So many places are soooo noisy it’s nearly impossible to carry on a conversation with someone.
Had the goat cheese beet salad, it was delicious and the rest of the party reported their dishes- French dip, Mediterranean chicken sandwich and soup and salad were good. If you want a patio seat, however, reserve and also show up early!
We made a dinner out of appetizers and salads. It was a lovely night to sit in the courtyard, which was very pretty and set back from the street, so absolutely no noise from cars.
Everthing here is fabulous...food portions are hugs...drinks well poured..awesome waiters...all of them the best bartender...and the owner is beautiful AND just lovely..
Such friendly servers, felt welcomed! Great food too! Generous portions!!
Great, tasty food, nice portions. Very nice patio but the tables for four people (our group) are in the center and way too close to the other four seater tables To easy to eavesdrop on other peoples conversations and vice versa. The tables for two along the sides are more private and much preferred by me. Overall I give it four stars, And will be a return customer but only for a party of two.
We had a wonderful experience! I chose this place to take my husband out for his 44th birthday and it was great. The food was delicious. Portion size was excellent and the cocktails were perfect! We brought our own bottle of wine and paid a reasonable $20 corkage fee. Our waiter Josh was excellent! Very friendly and attentive. He educated us on our wine and got to know us well with some great conversation. We will definitely go back.
Have eaten there before, but the Pasta dish with flat steak was not the best I have had there. The pasta was very cold while the flat steak that was placed on top of it was good. Would have sent it back but we needed to eat as we had to attend a concert and did not want to wait any longer than we had too. My wife said the Salmon she had was not as good as the last time she had it there but OK.
Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent service. Highly recommended.
I ordered the halibut it started out tasty with a crunchy coating however quickly developed into a mushy amalgamation of fish, potato and vegetables because it was all combined one on top of the other with a weird tomato salsa on the very top. Did not care for it. I left the restaurant hungry. The service was great and I liked the atmosphere (we sat outside). I don’t plan to return.
We always enjoy dining at this restaurant. Sitting outside is very nice and the food is always very good. It would be nice if they would expand their gluten free options, especially with the specials on the menu and dessert.
Great place to dining, good service, foods are outstanding.
I haven't been to the Wine Cellar for several years and remember it being better than what we experienced during our visit this week. The food was okay, nothing outstanding or original. I opted for the swordfish as I like a meaty white fish, but the fish was bland and needed additional seasoning or a sauce. We went there to celebrate a special occasion, but there was no recognition of that from either the waiter or other staff.
They do have a nice wine menu and prices were reasonable.
No reason to go back again unfortunately
Great, as usual. Garfield is a great waiter and fun, too! Thank you!
The staff is amazing Garfield was an amazing his suggestions as alternates for a favorite not served at lunch was the BEST!
I’ve been coming here for years. I love to eat here in the summer with friends and sit outside. The food is always wonderful and so is the service. I think they have the very best hamburger in town! I always have the hamburger when I come for lunch and I love the salad they serve with it and the fries are very good as well.
Great food great service...
Service was very good, but some food (chicken breast part of chicken picatta) was overlooked and dry. Also, restaurant acoustics not good. Crowded restaurant was overly noisey.
Birthday dinner for my friend was fabulous. Food and service was top notch!
We have been eating at the Wine Cellar for years. We think it has improved to the point where
it, and Vitos, have reached the top of our sense of fine restaurants. The food was excellent and the service was just the way we like it. We will be attending this nice place more often from now on.
We had a delicious lunch outside on the patio under a beautiful sunny day. Service was excellent, efficient, and we enjoyed the friendly staff.
Fun! Time spent with an old friend. The outdoor table was as good as it gets!!!
Excellent food & service! We had the blackened cod & beet salad.
As always, everything was exquisitely done, service food ambience, etc.
We went for lunch and both had delicious salads and great wine. Our server was outstanding. I will be going back.
Great food and service! The waitress was wonderful and gave perfect suggestions.
Great thanks you should go thete
My wife and I have been going to the Wine Cellar for over two decades. They always deliver great food and cocktails.
Always consistent with service and food. Love sitting outside on the patio during these Sumner months!!
We had a 715 reservations but did not specify the type of seating. We were upgraded to a booth at the top which was nice. Trenton, our waiter was very knowledgeable and a gracious host.
Our waiter was good but we ordered our drinks first then appetizers about 10 minutes later. We received our appetizer before our drinks which we could see sitting on the bar for some time. This happened again when we ordered a second drink when our entre wast served and we were almost done when the drinks arrived.
It was not extremely busy either in the dining room or the at the bar so there was no obvious reason for the drinks being so delayed. In fact before the meal was done there was no one at all at the bar except a hostess who was chatting with the bartender.
The food was very good but the service could definitely use some tweaking. For the price I was disappointed.
We (party of 6) would have liked to eat outside, but tables were only setup for 2 or 4. So, we sat in the cellar, and despite sound panels on the ceiling and and some of the walls, it was still very noisy, due to a party of ten next to us.
We told the waiter we would eating casually, first some appetizers, then salads, then our entree. He agreed and took our appetizer order. We ordered a couple of bottles of wine, and soon came back to tell us they were out of one of the bottles we ordered. How can a restaurant called the "Wine Cellar" be out of a featured wine?
When the waiter took our salad and main entree orders, he exclaimed that the halibut special was excellent, so two of us ordered the halibut. 45 minutes later he came back to the table to tell us that the halibut was sold out, and we would need to order differently. 45 minutes later to tell us that????? We complained to the manager, who gave us a 20% discount on the wine, but we all had to wait for our entrees.
Now, all our entrees were excellent: creatively presented and very tasty, but the noise, lack of an ordered wine, and the 45 minute delay in telling us the special was sold out put a cloud over the entire evening.
My son’s 21st birthday - very happy with the experience
My fav go to restaurant in the area!
Great place to meet a friend for lunch. Great outdoor seating and I have never been rushed.
We had a great time. It was date night for my husband and I. The place was very cute and casual with yummy food. We ordered the middle with clams. We weren’t very happy with it so sent it back and got the calamari instead. which also was average but better than the mussels. However we ordered the lamb chops for our entree and they were incredible. The waiter suggested a Pinot noir which paired so well with the lamb! We thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our meal. Date night success!! 😘
Wonderful outdoor seating area, and friendly services.
Food is always consistently great.
