Windows on the River
Great Value! Menu, food, and service are consistently good. Israel, our waiter was very attentive, pleasant but not overbearing! Perfect combination!
I found this place through OpenTable because the place I normally go to and it’s back up we’re both unavailable due to a Series of events at the same time downtown. The description gave it great promise and beckoned us with an elegant setting above the Riverwalk.
Parking is absolutely wonderful for going to dinner followed by a show at the Majestic theater. A small parking garage the Temple open spaces and free validation which meant free parking upon return. You can’t beat that!

There were no signs to be seen at all as to where to find the restaurant. Mind you, the hotel is a common hotel that can be seen in any cookie cutter suburb and true to that genre, the lobby looks just like any other hotel in the affordable Business class level. We found the snack bar first then we found one person working the front counter and four people in line in front of us. We couldn’t find the restaurant though.
After getting directions and told to go down the hall, up some stairs and around to the left of a noisy open space bar we were greeted by a friendly attendant who welcomed us to the establishment.
Walking in to the restaurant area I was disappointed. It also had the same feel and style of a low to mid end hotel’s unbranded restaurant.
I felt like canceling then but knowing I couldn’t for lack of better options. When we were let down a short Jonte of steps and to the long open hall like seating area with ceiling to floor
Israel did a fantastic job. He is a "10". The experience was exceptional and we will return.
Great location ~ FYI Its inside the Holiday Inn. Food was great, waitstaff excellent and very patient with us. We were a large group, made a lot of requests and were there for a very long time. Often restaraunts will try to rush you out but we never felt rushed, in fact they were very welcoming. Will definately be back on our next trip. Thank you!
Great view of the River Parade. Comfortable surroundings.
Mexican food buffet, from guacamole to flan, was nicely prepared and served.
We love eating here before the theatre! The service and value are great.
The staff was friendly informative knowledgeable and attentive., didn’t have to wait for anything. Great view of the Riverwalk. The food was quick but hot.
The ratings on here have a quiet place as two and a loud place as four. For me a loud place to where the waitstaff can not here me should be a zero and a quiet place should be a five. Thank you for the great service we will return again.
I could not find the restaurant. I was not able to keep the reservation
This was a nice restaurant with reasonable prices. I will definitely come again when in down.
a pleasant surprise; outstanding, efficient and pleasant staff; reasonably priced, adequate menu
The food was very good and the price very reasonable. The staff was not as attentive as you would expect but all in all was a good place.
Only thing nice about this was if you were sitting by the window for the view.
Simply put, it's hotel food....nothing more and nothing less. The food was OK, the service adequate and the view a pretty standard view of the Riverwalk.
This was a horrible restaurant. The view is nice, but McDonald’s has better quality food. The “smoked Gouda” queso was directly from a can. Poor ingredients. The hostess was also the server. No wonder the restaurant was empty except for one loud table obviously staying in the hotel.
Definitely not worthy of OpenTable.
It's in the back of a Holiday Inn, hard to find, extremely limited menu, side portions are very small.
It was not clear when I booked this that it was the Holiday Inn restaurant. There wasn’t a wait staff, and the menu was less than what you might expect for a cheap chain restaurant.
In the Holiday Inn, very confusing to find there is no sign in the front of the building or water front.
Buffet breakfast was not good. Waiter did offer the option of ordering from the menu and we should have done that. This was a business breakfast and was very disappointing.
Nice location on the riverwalk, good for people watching. I thought the food would be decent but I think the food was well prepared and tasteful. Service was good and attentive.
There should be instructions for getting to hostess stand if you are not a guest staying at the Hyatt. It was challenging and not easy to navigate from Riverwalk. And had a guest not been exiting the doors, we would not have accessed it because the door is keyed for hotel guests only. Our host & later on waitress were terrific and super polite.
Nice and easy spot to get in and out for a good sit down meal. On the Riverwalk but in the Holliday Inn so if not looking may pass it. We had a good working lunch with our group and staff was very helpful.
NOTE: This is in the Holiday Inn--a fact that all the apps seemed to go out of their way to hide. It is sealed off from the River Walk, but with windows to view it. It looked like a typical Holiday Inn restaurant and was empty on a very busy night. We opted to skip it because we wanted to dine outside.
The name sounded better than the view. We indeed had a window view however my date had back to window. Fortunately it was dark so we got to see the lights hang from the trees on the riverwalk. The problem was the ugly construction across the river staring us in the face. Nevertheless the food was good. The service was OK. The ambiance was still, stiff. I would recommend eating elsewhere if you want a better view with more entertainment.
I made a reservation for10 people. When we got there there was no reservation. From sitting down at our table to finishing it took 2 hours. We had small kids with us, they brought their food last. And got orders wrong. The food was good, but service was horrible
We booked a table for nine for Father's Day brunch. Great selection of foods. Everyone was pleased with the meal. Alex our waiter was excellent!! He took great care of us. Bringing out to go cups for our coffee before we asked. Nice comfortable place to eat and visit with family.
Food was pretty mediocre. Although cheeseburger was done perfectly medium rare juicy & hot. Nachos meh. Service was decent & pleasant, but not overly expedient.
Difficult to access fromb the riverwalk. Entry thru hotel. Bell sraff directed us to the back door of the kitchen. Sadly, this was our Valentine's Day dinner reservation.
Made a reservation, on a Sunday night, before a performance, for four. We arrived at a closed restaurant. No notice, no apology from staff when we got there. We had to scramble to find someplace before the show. Sent a note to the restaurant and was told someone would contact me. No one has contacted me yet. Very uncool.
Bit expensive. Only one other table and staff seemed confused. Waiter nice. Mostly lunch type menu. Very little to choose from for a nice dinner and desert on the Riverwalk.
We were in town visiting relatives and wanted a river view restaurant. My 90+ year old father couldn't walk far or handle any cold temperature. Windows on the River was a great choice! We had a view of the river walk and the restaurant was inside. Food was okay. Service was above and beyond. Would definitely go back.
