Loved Willow Room!!!! The food was delicious and they had a lovely variety of mimosa flavors including lavender. One thing to note is that there were a TON of kids of all ages. If you’re doing a girls brunch there’s no way to escape them. Lol!

The food was primarily very good. The Bavette steak had a good flavor, but was a little tough. Service was excellent.

We see plays in this part of the city frequently, but we have never dined at Willow Room. I'm so glad that we stumbled upon it. The food was excellent and the service was very good and the ambiance was quite nice. We will definitely be going back. The burrata appetizer was amazing!!

Ok staff, very expensive, bad food and had to send back the house wine.

Went here for a pre-theatre dinner. I was very excited to try their beef wellington which cost $42!, it looked great but I wasn't asked how I wanted the meat cooked (it came out very very rare), it was far too salty and I got a bowl of burnt sprouts beside them.

My girlfriend ordered the pasta bolognese which was cold and didn't taste of anything, that was also pretty expensive.

The first wine was dreadful so we sent it back. We got a second wine which was decent but again pretty expensive. The waitress didn't seem to care either way.

The ambiance is nice maybe a little pretentious, the service is ok, the menu is expensive and the food is poorly flavored. Don't waste your time or money in this place.

The food itself was quite good. However, we had reservations and still waited 20 minutes to be seated. The server was fine, until 2 days later when I checked my statement and found that he had over charged me. The manager was very understanding when I called and they refunded me the difference. Be careful when paying with card.

Good not great. My husband really enjoyed the beef Wellington, I thought the risotto needed a lot more work, shouldn’t be watery ans scallops need a bit more of a sear. The greens - I believe pea shoots - on top didn’t compliment the scallops but might have worked if they were mixed in the risotto right before serving. The mussels and burrata were excellent. Cocktails were a miss - heavy on simple syrup and booze, not quite the right ratios. If you’re going to serve a cocktail finished with sparking wine (Prosecco) make sure the Prosecco isn’t flat or at least you see and taste the fizz. Try the cocktail before serving! The ricotta donuts for dessert were lovely. Cocktails and risotto/scallops should be further finessed.

If you are going to a matinee performance at Steppenwolf or the Royal George theater, this is the restaurant to go to. It is half a block to both theaters, and the food and service are excellent. It is not very large, and many of the other nearby restaurants do not open until dinner time, so make sure you make a reservation if you want to eat here and have a show to attend.

We had a poor experience the first time, but took the gift card we were given for the less-than-stellar experience and went back with some of my family. The experience was completely different. We had a great waiter; the food was dramatically improved; it was just an all-around good experience. I'm glad they had us come back;

I’ve driven by several times and the restaurant is so cute that I’ve wanted to try it. The decor & ambience are great! However, there are steps to get in door so I’m not sure if it’s ADA compliant. Our server didn’t come to us until at least 10 minutes after we arrived. The hostess had to go find him & service was spotty the entire time. For the price the service should have been excellent. The food was great but because of the miss on service and high price I’m not sure we’ll go back.

The food was good and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but I had to wait over an hour before I was seated for my reservation. It would have been nice to have been offered a discounted or free app or drink. I’m glad I wasn’t on a date and was just with a friend because I’m not sure I would have been as okay with such a delay.

There is a limited brunch menu and it is a little noisy to have a quiet conversation (which is typical for these small, neighborhood places). My fried chicken sandwich tasted good, but a tad greasy. The iced coffee was a bit disappointing. Great location. May give it another try.

Second time at the Willow Room on a Wednesday evening prior to a great night of theater at Steppenwolf. Love the vibe at the Willow Room - exposed brick, great lighting and large windows. Service was attentive and friendly - you felt your patronage was appreciated. Food was just delicious - beautifully prepared, interesting ingredients yet approachable menu. My friend and I shared the Arctic Char { pommes puree, lobster américaine sauce, romanesco) and the Wild Mushroom Risotto { locally foreged mushrooms, black winter truffle oil, scallop }. So yummy - we almost licked our plates clean.

Food was delicious! We arrived a little early for our reservation and opted to eat at tje bar downstairs rather than wait on a table. Very cozy down there! Delicious cocktails & wine. Websplit mussels, bone marrow & burrata. Then split the bavette steak, more wine. Perfectlt cooked. Excellent service and great first night to our week on Chicago!

My friends and I have dined at the Willow room several times pre-theater, indoors and out. We were happy to find some new items on the menu. This visit the food was even better than previous times. We loved the octopus, scallops, char and mussels. Brussels sprouts and beet salad always good. No one ordered meat this time. Service was a little confused. We told our server the time we needed to leave . She misunderstood an brought everything at once! When I pointed out the misunderstanding, apologetic and comped our drinks. We will continue to frequent the willow room.

I was fairly disappointed with the service during a Friday evening. I had a reservation for 8pm and did not get seated until 8:50 - I know this happens at times and restaurants do not have control over when people leave. I certainly don't expect them to kick people out. However, the hostess did not acknowledge the frustration that this caused and proceeded to tell us that this happens all the time. That is unacceptable! We then spoke to the manager who apologized profusely and said it does not happen all the time. The meal was delicious. I was disappointed that the waiter only offered to comp a dessert wine or drink as we were not planning on having anything after dinner and there was no offer to comp anything else we had already ordered. I will not be going back to this place.
