The short ribs were amazing! It was a great place to have a low key date night
Wonderful, just loud for some older diners. Great spot for brunch!
Excellent meal. A great experience start to finish with wonderful food plus attentive and supportive service. We look forward to our next visit.
Great meal. Good wine. Awesome service.
Nice place. Very quiet for a Thursday lunch, so it was great for a business discussion.
We'd been to Willow Room for dinner several times. I was looking for a Sunday lunch spot and booked a table for two. What a delight. The room is light-filled, the noise level busy and happy. Service was excellent, food was delicious and plentiful.
Dinner before private room downstairs surprise bday party
Overall it was fine, but nothing about it was extraordinary.
Wait staff were good and considerate but the team that delivers the food and clears the table were gruff and seemingly in a big hurry even though it was early evening and not yet busy. The plates were cleared almost before our forks were down, the table was cleared and reset before we even stepped away from the table. Felt like we were being pushed out. The pasta dish was mediocre, pasta was overcooked.
Definitely not worth the price.
Really nice neighborhood feel. Nice room. Nice staff.
Great wine selection. Great space and beautiful lighting.
Always delicious, great atmosphere, great service!
We like Willow for date night. The food has always been great, the menus changes and the drinks are solid. Service has been good each time too.
Favorite mimosa ever - the Winter Willow. Great brunch spot. We'll be back for sure!
Arrived for a 1245 reservation but not seated until 1210. Hostess made no effort to make amends; sent us to wait t the bar where we were ignored.
Great room and excellent lunch. Burger and club sandwich were terrific. Wine list extensive. We will be back.
Been to this spot many times before under different names, but Willow Room and it's food was a nice surprise. Certainly recommended before or after a Steppenwolf play.
Everyone enjoyed their meal
Loved the lower level ambiance. Food was a little expensive for the quality and serving size.
The food and cocktails were amazing. The staff was very attentive, great service.
Wonderful wine and dining spot with the girlfriends or husband after work. It's a nice break from some of the high traffic locations in the loop or river north but with the same sophistication and slightly more relaxed atmosphere. Tuesday is an especially good evening to go as its half off wine bottle night. Highly Recommended!
Great atmosphere, friendly prompt service, and delicious dishes!
We had great service and everyone was super nice and helpful with the menu. Food was delicious!
We enjoyed our dinner at Willow Room. The burrata and fig jam appetizer was a generous portion and was very tasty. The cauliflower soup was amazing (would love the recipe since it had no cream or butter in it!) The scallops were cooked perfectly. The steak was very tasty but it wasn't hot and the meat was a bit chewy. I didn't send it back because I wanted to eat my dinner at the same time as my husband. We sat in the lower level and it was quite cozy.
Pricey but delicious and beautiful. I would go for any special occasion.
The food was delicious and well presented. The noise level before 2:00 PM was too much for me but better afterwards. Service was friendly but rushed. I was served coffee and never asked if I wanted cream or sugar and it was never refilled. But I will definitely go back.
Made reservations and hostess looked confused as if we were walking in. Pointed at the dirty table at the window with the bill still on it as our only choice. They didn't even clean the table before sitting us. We ended up with a couple drinks and salads and somehow spent over $85 for a mediocre meal. A couple that walked in shortly after us were told it would be a few minutes to find a table, so there is apparently no benefit to making a reservation. The noise level was crazy due to a bunch of loud, drunk millennial girls. I would not recommend this place for an enjoyable weekend brunch.
This place was so excellent, I went two nights in a row during restaurant week. Awesome ambiance, friendly staff, excellent menu. My only minor complaint is that they are a little aggressive with taking plates away while other people at the table are still eating - this is a huge pet peeve of mine. Wait until everyone is done before clearing. Otherwise it makes the experience seem rushed, which you don't want to do at this lovely spot. I'll be back.
Delicious meal and attentive service. Very convenient for pre-theater.
Very romantic dinner option & very close to Steppenwolf & St John theatres. Food was excellent! The best & most tender grilled octopus I've ever had. Hamachi appetizer was also a "must try", perfect fusion of flavors. Smores dessert was delectable. Very comfortable seating & the service was excellent also. I highly recommend Willow Room
I went to wilow with family that was visiting. It was during brunch and it was also restaurant week. While we didn’t find the restaurant week menu worth it for our occasion, the menu did include an entree, side, and two drinks (even two mimosas if you wanted).
We ordered the fried chicken sandwich, burger, and salmon bagel. The salmon bagel was our tables favorite choice with a unique and delicious twist on a classic! The burger was also delicious and juicy and came with a large portion of fries. Our least favorite was the fried chicken sandwich, mostly because it was a dark dry chicken meat. The flavors were great but we couldn’t get past the actual chicken part!
Overall, the service was great, food came out quick, everyone was pleased, and I will probably be returning with some friends to try out more items off the menu!
My friends and I made a reservation at Willow Room for restaurant week. We were very excited by all of the options they offered on their menu, especially the mimosa menu.
I ordered the chicken sandwich, which left a lot to be desired- it had a very bitter taste to it, maybe the cabbage, maybe the sauce? The fries were also a little oily and unsalted. I was not impressed so much by that entree option, but I did like the brulee grapefruit that I ordered as the side.
We were given the option of two drinks with our brunch special, and I ordered the lavender mimosa and the cranberry cinnamon mimosa, both were FANTASTIC.
Our service was fine, they were pretty busy, but our waiter was attentive and polite.
I would recommend Willow Room for a breakfast/brunch, and would highly recommend the mimosas on the menu- they have very unique flavors unlike those that I've seen elsewhere.
Loved this restaurant! It was our first time there and tried it due to location close to Royal George Theater as we had tickets to a play, and also Willow was participating in restaurant week. We were blown away by our food-/9 delicious and different. The mimosa menu was so interesting, fun, and delicious, and our waiter was service perfection. We didn’t want to order right away, and he was great with that allowing us the perfect amount of time to settle in, enjoy our cocktail, and peruse the menu. Then he’d come by to check is at perfect times...not too soon, not too long. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. It was really busy-great energy-the entire time from noon-2 when we left.
Food was great, and definitely a great value for their restaurant week menu. Wait staff seemed severely understaffed, and service was pretty terrible. Manager comped us a free glass of wine each for the 3 in my party without us asking, but that’s how bad it was.
Subpar food. Good ambiance.
The restaurant week menu for Willow Room was phenomenal and I will definitely be going back to have the same things again. The Burrata was great to start. The Mussels had an incredible flavor. The Scallops and the Steak were both well done so overall great place.
Went for restaurant week and will come back for the regular menu... very impressed!
Really cute with great brunch options, but VERY loud once the place was full
